Afaq Art Production & Distribution is releasing its new musical work “Bejamalen” (With Beauty), written and composed by Sheikh Abd Al-Ghani Al-Umari Al-Hasani, performed by singer Ziad Kamal, with orchestral arrangement and direction by Maestro George Kolta and Syncope Orchestra. The release follows nearly three years of preparation, building on the company’s first work, “Althulathia” (The Trilogy), performed by singer Mohamed Mohsen in 2023, which drew wide attention from audiences of refined Arabic music.
“Bejamalen” presents a poem rooted in the classical Sufi poetic tradition, exploring themes of divine love, mystical witnessing, and divine knowledge, and closing with praise of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), described in the text as “Al-Hashimi,” the source of refined spiritual taste and knowledge. The orchestral arrangement gives this text a contemporary musical form blending Eastern and Western instruments, which was brought to life by Syncope Orchestra, which successfully managed to combine three orchestral classical, ensemble, and Eastern/Arabic — into a single work.
