She’s Excited! is the musical project by the award-winning NYC and Munich-based artist Anne Wichmann, recently she released her latest album ‘Moments of Sonder.’ Let’s find out more.

The 11-track album, Moments of Sonder, easily grabs your attention with its vintage vibes that include electronic, darkwave, dream pop, and indie rock variations. Wichmann’s album “Moments of Sonder” combines darkwave and gothwave elements with influences from punk and dubstep. The songs vary in style, from experimental to ambient, showcasing her versatile vocals and musical range. According to her press info, I totally agree indeed that her music is like a blend of David Bowie and Laurie Anderson as well as Indie artists like Water From Your Eyes, definitely she nailed it perfectly and even created her own new output.

It’s really difficult to mention there’s a favourite track as each has its own characteristics. In my view, it’s a very smart move from Anne to choose the correct featured artists for her tracks, since she is also the producer of the album, so is fully aware of what her music needs. So imagine great poetry uttered by the voices of Clara Francesca, Joana Brabo, and Liuyu Ivy Chen. Along with the melodic trombone parts by Mike Estabrook or tight harmonic piano style by JanetB. Adding to this, the impressive programming and guitar elements by Gene Chaban.

Each track in “Moments of Sonder” offers a glimpse of self-awareness, showcasing complexity and intentional, personal creation by Wichmann. “’Moments Of Sonder´ is a concept album around the phenomenon of `sonder´, an instant realization that every person has a life as complex and complicated as your own. I invite the listeners to walk through New York City (or any city of their dreams) with me: We will look up the high rises and wonder what lives unfold behind the millions of windows. We will walk down to the subway and go on a ride with Mellon Collie. We will meet amazing people and hear wonderful and sometimes difficult stories, we will briefly listen in while passing by and then move on. I hope that everyone will find their own moment of sonder in the music.” – She’s Excited!.

It’s worth mentioning that She’s Excited!’s Anne Wichmann is an incredible sound artist and performer, who knows how to deliver her message through the right soundscape; This album is a sound bath, it is designed and produced to take you on a ride, to immerse you in the kaleidoscope of boundless life and evocative city sounds. (It is) very dear to me because it contains and reflects a lot of personal moments and thoughts about my life as immigrant, as artist, as musician, as a human sometimes struggling, as a woman wondering and fighting and loving my way through life.

In my opinion, Wichmann has the potential to become an iconic dream pop artist. Through “Moments of Sonder,” she aims to showcase the richness of life around us and encourage self-awareness. Cheers!
