- Hi Ashley! Thank you for taking the time to answer some questions about your successful country music career. Tell us about the first time you remember singing in front of others.
Absolutely! I can remember singing way back in grade school. I was always involved in talent shows and I can picture one very young, me and my sister sang together. It was just a stage set up in an old gymnasium. That was probably the first crowd.
- Any stand-out performances that you can tell us about?
I’ve had a lot of memorable moments these last few years. By far my favorite has been when I opened the show for Mark Chesnutt at Jergel’s Rhythm Grill in Warrendale, PA. That’s been my favorite venue, and mix that with such an idol as a headliner, great crowd, it was just a very exciting show!
- What was it like recording your album, “Never Say Never?”
I love to sing on stage, and write music, but there’s truly nothing like being in the studio to me. It’s where you get to see your music take form and have fun with it, share ideas, and make magic. Recording Never Say Never was a turning point for my career, as well as my growth personally as an artist.
- You followed that up with a new single,”Tequila.” Tell us about it.
I had wrote “Tequila” to express the ins and outs of love through the eyes of a woman just trying to figure it out at a bar, with a drink. We all have our fairy tale we’re looking for, and we just have faith that our version will come. It’s everything in between however is what we need to get through and learn from. So “Tequila” is basically making light of all that, having a talk about it all between me, myself, and I, and my glass of tequila. Or for me, a double tequila sunrise and an extra shot of Patron. Haha.
- You are owner of a Parrot, “Captain Morgan.” How did you come to own a Parrot? What’s he like?
Yes! He’s a handsome little devil. He’s gorgeous though! Bright green, beautiful candy corn beak, and reds, blues, purple and yellows in his feathers under his wings and tail. I’ve had him about 3 years now and he’s been the most wonderful decisions I’ve ever made. He does have an attitude, but he can be very loving, too. He warms your heart. He eats better than I do, I can tell you that. He’s spoiled! Haha. All fruits and veggies, and he loves Almonds and pine nuts.
- You are also a big fan of your Pittsburgh Steelers. Who is your favorite Steeler of all time and why?
I love my Steelers!! I’ve loved the team for many years, new and old players. I’ve met quite a few of them over the years, and I’d say a few I’d pick just because they are down to earth, good people, and fun to be around aside from being great athletes are Dermontti Dawson and Santonio Holmes. I also have new high hopes for Mason Rudolph lately so I’ve been paying more attention there. But over all, I’m more of an overall team supporter.
- I’ve heard that you like to travel, too. Where is your favorite place you’ve visited and why?
I love seeing new places! I’m also an island girl at heart! I’d say my favorites so far are a toss up between Grand Cayman island and Punta Cana was beautiful. I also am a frequent flyer to Miami. I am just so happy in South Beach. Love the vibe and the ocean. I also love cruises. Just being in the open water. I could stare at it for hours.
- What’s next on the horizon for you?
I’m always open and searching for new opportunities. I can’t wait for my next release soon! I had written this song two years ago, and it’s finally time! It’s been a very hard two years keeping this one waiting but it’s by far one of my most favorite songs I’ve ever written, and very meaningful to me.
- Thanks again! We can’t wait to see what’s next!
