The song is proof of how years of experience surely do pay off. Sky Canyon just released this new instrumental jazz track, and it just fits in with the greats of the golden age of jazz. Once I pressed play, I could automatically see myself sitting in a low-light jazz bar with a stage, and I’m seeing this live. It starts with the vibraphone singing the main melody, then the double bass comes in and the piano echoes their lines, with lastly the drums sway in, to fit in perfectly like the last puzzle piece. It has such a beautiful groove and essence to it that it just puts you in a light mindset. A quartet that is made of the finest of musicians, starting with Sky Canyon on the vibraphone, joined by Eric Gunnison, Ron Bland, and Mike Marlier.
The artist has a long career with over 50 years in music, he is a composer, producer, and a vibraphone player who studied with the jazz vibraphone master Terry Gibbs, who had a huge influence on his current musical creations. He produced several albums in the new age genre with Watercourse Media that were ‘best-sellers.’
We’re glad the artist decided to return to his roots and compose heartfelt jazz originals and classics.
