Jacksonville, FL — Jacksonville-based singer-songwriter CattSue will release her deeply emotional new single, “A Whisper on the Wind,” on June 12th, offering listeners a heartfelt reflection on loss, healing, and the enduring connection between mother and daughter. The new release follows the growing success of her debut single, “Come Home to Me,” which earned international attention with chart success on the UK iTunes charts, as well as airplay and recognition on the Independent Music Network charts.

Written from one of the most personal experiences of her life, “A Whisper on the Wind” tells the story of losing her mother at just four-and-a-half years old—a loss she was too young to fully understand, but one that shaped her deeply through memory, imagination, and emotion. The song serves as both tribute and healing, blending tender storytelling with reflective melodies rooted in country, pop, and contemporary singer-songwriter traditions.

In the opening verse, CattSue recalls carrying her childhood doll, Mrs. Beasley, everywhere she went after her mother passed away: “I was four and a half, just a little too young / To understand where my mama had gone.” The song’s title, “A Whisper on the Wind,” represents those quiet moments where she still feels her mother’s presence guiding and encouraging her through life.

For CattSue, one of the song’s most meaningful moments arrives in the bridge, where she confronts the lifelong pain of not remembering her mother’s voice. In place of those missing memories, she imagines the words she believes her mother would say today: “My girl, I’m proud of you — go chase your dreams.”

“This song isn’t just about loss,” says CattSue. “It’s about connection beyond time. It’s about how love continues even when memories are incomplete. It’s about a little girl trying to understand where her mom went… and a woman finally finding peace in how she still shows up.”

CattSue has quickly established herself as a promising new voice in independent music. Her songwriting embraces emotional honesty, subtle storytelling, and deeply human themes that resonate with listeners seeking authenticity and connection. Her debut release, “Come

Home to Me,” introduced audiences to her warm and reflective style, earning chart recognition internationally and helping position her as an emerging artist to watch.

With “A Whisper on the Wind,” CattSue transforms personal grief into something universal—an intimate reminder that love never truly disappears, even when time and memory leave spaces behind.
