Ebony Buckle blends ambient pop, rock and folk to create a unique and otherworldly sound, but roots her themes in the intricacies of the human experience. Performing on a global scale, she made her most notable appearance in the BBC drama Inspector George Gently, performing an iTunes World Chart-topping delivery of ‘Silver Dagger’.
The Australian-born, London-based talent regularly dives into thoughtful and heart-wrenching sonic journeys, bringing her moments of growth to life and infusing relatability into every composition. ‘I Think I Just Saved My Own Life’ is no different, speaking to her experience quitting drinking, and the relief that descended upon her.
Filled with melodic bass lines, sliding synths and repeating phrases, the track is two sides of the same coin, flipping between punchy, tense grooves into dreamy and reflective moments, stepping back from the forefront.
Ebony brings self-actualisation to her performance, each climax an out-of-body experience, transforming from soft and vulnerable to a confident, charging front woman in control of her future.
Ebony currently leads fans to her new album ‘Hearts Get Started’, this track is the third teaser from the project. She explains the upcoming project, “This album is a collection of songs written over several years, some of them being my oldest. It feels a little like a puzzle, with each song being its own world and story. When you put them together, they are stepping stones along the way of my musical adventure. I like to think of it as a prequel to our first album Disco Lasers. It’s all the music that got me to that point.”
