Based in the French town of Lyon, French Caviar’s latest offering is a faithful reimagining of the extremely colorful 80s disco hit ‘She Works Hard for the Money’ by Donna Summer. French Caviar’s treatment of the massively popular original does a great job at maintaining the original’s electrifying synth chords and Summer’s invigorating vocal performance, but puts on top a healthy sheen of house and dub with inventive club beats, intoxicating production, and a flow that does not relent.
This treatment makes the song go even harder, a very tricky thing to achieve when you’re working with a disco classic from the mad 80s, but French Caviar pulls it off tastefully, giving us a delightful piece of disco music that is both classic and cutting edge.
