Based in New York City, Jerry Jean crafts a vast range of songs, his style unlimited by genre but able to help audiences transcend reality. Working towards his second full-length album after a momentous debut honoured at The Hollywood Music in Media Awards and the Global Music Awards. Performing at the likes of Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center and MTV Unplugged Jerry’s presence in the industry is not to be ignored.
Jerry Jean is back, returning for 2024 with a fabulously passionate explosion of soulful instrumentation, intricate arrangements and just the right amount of disco fury. Collaborating on the lead vocal with Grammy-winner Nicole Zuraitis, the pair drive energy into the slew of talented musicians beneath them.
The scream of the saxophone, the classic funky groove of a rhythm guitar and even two sets of drum kits further push this high-energy, polished but raw human feel. The second half of the track rises and rises through the notes, each new section a new energiser, the melodies taking another step towards heaven. In the music video, you get to see all of these heroics on show, their talent ever impressive. What’s almost more grabbing, however, is the smiles on every face, the true and clear enjoyment of every moment.
The artist explains, ”I wrote Lean In as a reminder to be fully present in whichever stage of life you’re in. To inhabit the now and not dwell on the past or the future. Life’s incredibly dynamic when you’re committed to the now, and I tried to capture this vibrancy with Lean In.”
