Beginning this Thursday, the SoundStorm music festival promises to be a memorable event with the inclusion of METALLICA as a headliner. It’s a smart move by MDLBEAST, also, the giant record label behind the iconic music expo XP Music Futures. Recently, our parent company Naqada Music Management had the opportunity to pitch our project in the family, Longa Marketplace, at the event from December 7th to 9th. Want to hear the full story? We were honored to be invited to participate in SEA Ventures‘ “Sound Futures” initiative program on the last day of XP’s December 9th event as one of MDLBEAST‘s partners. As we took in the event’s excellent organization and coordination, we were joined by five other impressive initiatives: Hunna, Xperform, Xchange, Storm Shaker, and Artist Management Bootcamp. All of which were presented by the top speakers and experts in the MENA region.
The three-day event was jam-packed with an array of activities, concerts, and workshops that left me in awe. The diversity of workshops was impressive, with topics ranging from management, and marketing, to copyrights, and more. The speakers were equally exceptional, and the content was insightful and engaging.
The activities were varied and plentiful, with something for everyone. Attendees could jam at the corners, participate in karaoke, browse through merchandise, and much more.
The Nite program covered all music tastes and showcased an impressive lineup of indie up-and-coming entities such as Heavy Arabia Entertainment, Wall of Sound, Malakat Records, Brij Ent, Ego Records, GXR Records, Nacelle, and Scene Noise. The artists who graced the stage were too numerous to name, but it was a thrill to watch Tinariween, Fulana, Maii Waleed, Machine Eat Man, Nour Khan, Dusk, 9six6, El Waili, Abyusif, DJ Faisal, and many other marvelous artists and bands.
For our ‘Sound Futures’ initiative that we participated in, we had the pleasure to meet up with the rising greatest minds of the region, and their projects, and they are; the music management educational platform, Tarkeeza from Egypt. The full-stack Elixir music label and studio from Bahrain. The music, dance, and cultural center of Deseret Rose Echoes from Lebanon. And the artist booking platform, Funuank from Saudi Arabia. The provider of stock photography, stock footage, stock music, and editing tools, Saudipix from Saudi Arabia. The licensing, synch, and stock music platform, SoundSauce from Egypt. The synth, midi controllers, and multi-effects/pedal manufacturer, Maqam Labs from Saudi Arabia. And finally, the freelance hub that connects talents/pros with clients, Longa from Egypt.
Excitement is in the air at Naqada Music as we eagerly look forward to our participation in the upcoming year. We are thrilled to collaborate with these great minds to bring the best to the market. We believe that there’s a transformation is currently underway that is reshaping the entire industry in our region, and in just a few years, it will benefit everyone, from entities and artists to audiences alike.
