With support emerging across the tastemaker platforms of radio, press and playlisting alongside the live scene, MOLTENO’s dreamy electronic alt-pop is constantly enticing new industry fans. Hailing from East London, MOLTENO has collaborated with the likes of Longshaw Ward, Eirinn Hayhow and visual artists to bring her ethereal colour palette to a unique visual style. She’s also performed at Camp Bestival, Fractalight Festival Of Light and Camden Assembly and headlined The Love Shack in her home city.
Capturing a gorgeous sense of magic with each word she utters, MOLTENO’s new single ‘Clouds’ is a gorgeous showcase of her talent. Energised percussive breaks drive vast swells of fuzzy synths, whilst ethereal pads decorate the high frequencies with delicate feedback pulses. Blending a futuristic essence that feels hazy and cold with a sense of warmth and personality, ‘Clouds’ seems to flow from section to section, moving more gently from verse to chorus, whilst steadily and subtly rising to a climax of expansive arrangement and boundless vocal layers. Feeling so close, yet so distant, it’s these constant emotional juxtapositions that make the songwriting so alluring, it’s mystical and familiar, unattainable yet immediate.
MOLTENO reflects on the track, ”With ‘Clouds’, I wanted to explore the potential of feeling connected with others, even those we’ve lost, by immersing ourselves in nature. I started writing it in the middle of the night when the rest of the house was out, I think that space between awake and dreaming seeped into the song.”
