Until The End by After School Club

0

The ambient genre can be quite challenging. When an artist lacks quality, experience, and genuine talent, listeners may notice a repetitive nature in the music. However, this is not the case with After School Club‘s “Until The End,” which has been one of my favorite tracks this year. Allow me to elaborate further below.

Craig Henderson, hailing from Merseyside in England, is the sole visionary behind After School Club. If you take a look at his biography and press kit, you’ll see that he boasts 16 years of experience, highlighted by his projects Hippys on the Hill and Leopards and Carta Inc. As previously mentioned, ambient and electronic music can be quite challenging, particularly when it’s purely instrumental without vocals. However, the music’s progression here is truly remarkable, with a captivating melody that stands out. I was enchanted by how it felt like I was riding on a sea of musical waves, effortlessly going with the flow and appreciating the artistry.

“Until the End” combines uplifting music with a deep structure, starting with lush pads and ambient textures. At 125 BPM, it balances energy and serenity, perfect for both dance floors and reflective moments. The rhythm features a pulsing kick and syncopated hi-hats, while arpeggiated synths and melodic motifs create a dynamic, hypnotic flow that engages listeners.

“Until the End” is an exhilarating instrumental journey that masterfully blends melodic house and deep electronic elements. As it’s mentioned in the press kit, which I highly agree; Drawing comparisons to the atmospheric soundscapes of RÜFÜS DU SOL, this track delivers a rich, immersive experience, perfect for playlists like “Deep House Relax,” “Electronic Rising,” or “Focus Flow.”

The most remarkable aspect of the track is its emotional depth, expressed through its melodies and textures. Uplifting synths and chords evoke a sense of hope, complemented by a rich bassline that brings in a groove. The blend of an energetic rhythm with atmospheric melodies results in a dynamic piece that is both danceable and contemplative. It features moments of tension and release, highlighted by a breakdown that underscores a sense of stillness. This interlude enriches the climactic build-up, culminating in a euphoric drop that feels both vast and intimate.

Wetiko by Flatfoot Sam

Certain songs have the power to transport you on an atmospheric journey. It’s akin to experiencing a cinematic film where the music serves as the primary vehicle for conveying the film’s message. “Wetiko” by Flatfoot Sam stands out as an exceptional chillout and trap-hop track. Allow me to share more details below.

Originating from Southampton, England, Flatfoot Sam unveiled his latest single, “Wetiko,” on February 14th. With its haunting melodies and intricate rhythms, “Wetiko” immerses listeners in a soundscape that is both contemplative and transformative. The track’s layers gradually unfold, inviting introspection and fostering a deeper connection with the themes it addresses. As the music progresses, it instills a blend of urgency and hope, encouraging us to face the shadows of our shared psyche and emerge with renewed purpose. Flatfoot Sam’s artistry shines through not only in his technical skills but also in his talent for crafting profound narratives through music, making “Wetiko” a compelling anthem for change and unity.

With its roots in indigenous wisdom, the term “Wetiko” serves as a powerful metaphor for understanding the darker aspects of human nature. By blending chillout vibes with trap-hop elements, Flatfoot Sam creates a musical landscape that is both contemplative and dynamic, encouraging a journey of self-discovery and collective healing. As listeners immerse themselves in the sound, they are reminded of the importance of awareness and empathy in overcoming the challenges of our time.

The artist characterizes their musical style as TripField, a fusion of Trip Hop and Leftfield, enhanced with a contemporary flair. Following the launch of the TripField EP in 2023, this new single serves as a teaser for the highly awaited second album, scheduled for release in 2026. I am truly excited to hear this album, which I believe offers a unique sound not commonly encountered. Cheers!

Olivia Millin’s ‘Start Again’: Because Who Needs Consistency When You’ve Got Sass and Soul?

0

If you’ve ever wished for a musical rollercoaster that’s equal parts heartfelt reinvention and cheeky self-awareness, Olivia Millin’s debut LP Start Again might just be the antidote to your everyday monotony. At only 20 years old, Olivia serves up an eclectic mix of J-Pop brilliance that effortlessly fuses Japanese cultural nuances with bold American pop sensibilities—and oh, does she do it with a wink.

The album kicks off with tracks that will have you nodding in empathetic agreement over your own life’s little misadventures. Take “Big Mistake,” for instance, where Olivia cheekily dismisses doomed romances with lines that are both heartbroken and hilariously blunt. It’s as if she’s saying, “Yes, we’re worlds apart, but at least I’m here to make a killer pop anthem out of it.” And just when you think things couldn’t get more theatrically honest, she flips the switch with “Success.” In a barrage of self-empowerment and playful boasts, she juggles her ambition with a dose of humor—reminding us all that while fame might be a double-edged sword, it’s one heck of a stylish ride.

Even the melancholic “Broken Piece of Joy” feels like a rebellious diary entry set to a catchy beat, as Olivia turns childhood memories (and missteps) into an anthem of gritty resilience. Her lyrics are so authentically raw that they might just have you laughing at the absurdity of it all—even as you’re drowning in nostalgia and self-reflection.

What really makes Start Again a standout is Olivia’s willingness to mix it up. Whether she’s throwing in rapid-fire bilingual verses that keep your brain doing somersaults (“さわらないで, don’t touch”) or poking fun at the absurdity of modern relationships in “TTYL,” there’s a contagious energy that makes every track feel like a personal pep talk from that wonderfully flawed friend we all need.

In a world where pop music can sometimes feel like a one-note ditty, Olivia Millin’s debut is a refreshing, if slightly sarcastic, reminder that reinventing yourself is not only necessary but also downright fun. So plug in, crank up the volume, and allow yourself to laugh, cry, and dance along as Olivia shows us all that sometimes the best way to move forward is to simply start again—with a little bit of sass and a whole lot of heart.

This is Your Time by Shervin Boloorian

0

A powerful peace message has been conveyed by Iranian/Indonesian artist Shervin Boloorian in his latest single and music video, “This is Your Time.” This song is dedicated to the millions of child refugees around the globe. It carries a significant message, is skillfully produced, and stands out as an inspiring counter to the prevailing anti-refugee sentiment of our times.

The music video is deeply sentimental and perfectly captures the essence of the song. I was particularly drawn to his vocal style; it’s both emotive and powerfully delivered. The video itself is incredibly impactful, featuring footage from various conflicts around our tumultuous world. It primarily highlights the experiences of children and the profound effects these situations have on their lives. Alongside his exceptional vocal talent, I found the powerful tenor voice beautifully complemented by the ancient Persian Ney flute.

As you listen to the track, you’ll immediately notice its polished production. Upon exploring the press kit further, I discovered the reason behind it: the collaboration with Grammy and Emmy-winning producer Kipper Eldridge. Returning to the track, it struck me that Shervin Boloorian isn’t merely performing; he is pouring his heart into the song. I can relate to this, as he shares his story as an Iranian refugee. “Immigrants and refugees everywhere are growing in number and many are demonized,” Boloorian emphasizes, referring to the recent anti-refugee sentiments from Washington D.C. In “This is Your Time,” he uses music to reshape the narrative, sharing a genuine story of overcoming challenges and choosing peace and life. “Not enough people are aware of what refugees must do to survive forced displacement, or the courage needed to build new lives for themselves and their families.”

The lyrics draw inspiration from Arab-American refugee, Manal Omar, yet Shervin emphasizes that the song’s theme is universal and resonates with all audiences. Shervin Boloorian isn’t merely conveying a message of peace; he is also issuing a call to everyone striving for a better world… something we all yearn for. Do you believe that day will arrive?

When experience intertwines with passion, creativity emerges. This succinctly captures the essence of the latest single, “Drifting Away,” by VXXK featuring DVRKO and Jordan Grace. Let’s explore more details below.

The track offers a remarkably smooth listening experience. You’ll be captivated by its electrifying pop vibes, which are undeniably emotive. As I highlighted before, experience plays a crucial role alongside your talent. Grammy-nominated DJ and producer VXXK brings a distinctive pop fusion to life through collaboration with Grammy-winning DJ and producer DVRKO, along with the powerhouse vocalist Jordan Grace.

The music’s structure is incredibly cohesive, and I appreciated the harmony created among the three performers. I was captivated by their emotive and powerful vocal styles, complemented by melodic tunes and a precise rhythm.

The combination of VXXK and DVRKO’s production prowess with Jordan Grace’s vocal magic creates a dynamic experience that resonates with listeners on multiple levels. The track’s infectious energy and emotive depth make it a perfect anthem for those moments when you need an extra boost of motivation or a reason to celebrate. As the beats pulse through your veins and the melodies lift your spirits, you’ll find yourself caught in the enchanting flow of “Drifting Away,” reminding you of the limitless possibilities that music can offer. DJ D-Rocc Rides the Waves of Love on “Silver Surfer” ft. Druskii

0

With a career steeped in music’s history, DJ D-Rocc has long been a sonic architect behind the scenes. From crafting early 2000s radio staples with The Trackboyz to shaping the next generation of artists, his name carries weight in both production and artist development. Now, with his latest single, “Silver Surfer” featuring Druskii, he steps into the forefront once again—this time with a smooth, introspective anthem about love, resilience, and second chances.

From the jump, “Silver Surfer” wraps you in atmospheric synths and a hypnotic bounce, setting the perfect backdrop for Druskii’s melodic storytelling. The track leans into modern R&B aesthetics while keeping its hip-hop soul intact, a fusion that feels natural given DJ D-Rocc’s production pedigree. Lyrically, it’s a tale of emotional rebirth—of someone navigating the aftermath of heartbreak yet willing to ride the unpredictable tides of love again.

Druskii’s delivery is the track’s emotional anchor, his vocals weaving through the beat with a confidence that makes the sentiment feel lived-in. There’s a sense of cautious optimism in his cadence, like he’s been through the wreckage before but still believes in the silver lining. Meanwhile, DJ D-Rocc’s production keeps everything tight and immersive, never overshadowing the message but always elevating it. The result? A track that’s just as much about mood as it is about melody—a perfect late-night drive anthem or a reflective moment with headphones in.

What makes “Silver Surfer” stand out is its balance. It’s got the polish of a club-ready single but the introspection of a personal journal entry. It doesn’t just aim for easy hooks; it builds an atmosphere. And in an era where vulnerability in R&B is more embraced than ever, this track fits right in.

For longtime fans of DJ D-Rocc’s work, “Silver Surfer” is a refreshing reminder of his versatility. For new listeners, it’s a compelling introduction to his evolving artistry. Either way, it’s a ride worth taking.

The heart and soul of Hillsboro, Texas, prolific storyteller and rapper J’Moris triumphantly returns on Valentine’s Day with his most raw and unhinged album to date, boldly titled “Toxic Lovespell”. Walking the line at the edge of all things lyrically, this powerful new release tethers between confessional, mourning and not giving a damn, letting go and running completely loose. And you might just enjoy this man when he’s running loose. J’Moris has perfected his flow and vocal craft, knowing when guns need to be blazing, much like Iggy Pop has done over the years – when you listen to “Toxic Lovespell”, you hear unhinged as an art unto itself. The album features beats by Supamario Beatz.

“Toxic Lovespell, is the raw unrestrained version of me. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Toxic Lovespell is the embodiment of striving for perfection but falling short and learning your imperfections are perfectly blended for you. Love and life is full of highs and lows, learning to navigate them is the toxic peaceful bliss you create. Once you understand and accept it, you learn that limitations and expectations are one in the same. Do you breakthrough or conform to…. Choice is yours.” J’Moris

J’Moris has been consistently prolific with his music and has recently launched the Life Outside Lyrics podcast, which he hosts and features close friends and family, Ticc, and D. Hewitt.

A suave ladies man, street-wise prodigy and multi-talented artist with immense dedication to the craft, Hillsboro, Texas Hip Hop artist J’Moris’s style is all realness. His style drips with heavyweight swagger and southern grit.
A self-dubbed ‘product of environment’, J’Moris has been drawn to music since he was a young boy. While battling the trials and tribulations of life, he’s always found music to be an unrivaled outlet of expression. During his college venture at Lamar University, Moris co-founded the organization Tru Misfitz. Continuing to maneuver more into the music industry, Moris found his southern influence played a heavy part in what he does, deeply embedded in his music and persona.
Hillsboro, Texas Hip Hop Prodigy J’Moris has upped the ante on an already highly prolific catalog by releasing 4 new singles.

Growing up in Fort Worth during the 90’s exposed Texas Hip Hop artist J’Moris to a lot growing up. The drugs, pimps & thugs flooded the streets.

“My family moved to Hillsboro, Texas, to try and get away, but to no avail. The crack epidemic consumed Hillsboro also. Watching my loved ones fall victim to the drugs or the streets, I felt he only had one choice. Use them both to My advantage & find a way out. My older brother, Crunch, looked out for me alot. He never wanted me in the streets but he also knew the outcome was inevitable. He showed me how to finesse the game more, how to be apart of the game but also be hands off.. Unseen.. The lessons he taught me molded me into who I am today and also gave me the opportunities to graduate high school. Something he, or my little brother J Hodge, never did.”

“I tell God to watch out for me while I chase the route of evil…”

(from ‘Extra’)

J’Moris‘s no-holds-barred style is equal parts finesse and blunt force, inspired by hip hop greats and modern artists alike.

J’Moris has released 5 EP’s, 7 singles, and a full-length album, Blac February (released Feb 7,2020), an autobiographical 15-track collection that flows like a classic. Moris followed up the success of Blac February by releasing 2 singles with accompanying music videos. “Blac Amerikkka” features fellow Hillsboro MC’s 254 Assassin and D. Hewitt. The track is a scathing indictment of racial inequality in the United States.

After “Blac Amerikkka”, J’Moris released a double single featuring “Blac Love”, a poetic, confessional ode to black women everywhere. This was followed by the hard-hitting instant classic “Ball”. Next he announced the release of “Not For Everybody”. This double single featured boozy r&b love jam “Not For Everybody” and heavy hip hop banger “Special”. Moris followed up “Special” by collaborating with Artist Named Chi for the official video for new single “Activated”. RICHARD LYNCH HONORS A FRIEND WITH “JESUS AND BOCEPHUS”

0

Traditional country music has always been about real life, real people, and real emotions—and Richard Lynch delivers all three in his latest single, “Jesus and Bocephus.” With a voice as sturdy as a well-worn pair of work boots, Lynch pays homage to his late bandmate Tim Bennington, capturing the essence of a man who lived by faith, family, and country music.

The song is classic Lynch: no frills, no gimmicks, just straight-ahead honky-tonk heart. Built on a steady backbeat and a melody soaked in steel guitar, “Jesus and Bocephus” tells the story of a hard-working man who found salvation in both the Good Book and good ol’ country music. The lyrics paint a picture of Bennington as the kind of man you’d want to swap stories with on a back porch—someone who could lay down a blistering lead onstage and still bow his head in prayer when the night was through.

Lynch’s delivery is as heartfelt as the subject matter, and you can hear the respect in every line. The chorus—“He loved Jesus and Bocephus / That old country boy can survive”—is a perfect nod to the values and music that shaped both Bennington and Lynch himself. The production stays true to Lynch’s signature neo-traditional style, letting the song breathe with warm, organic instrumentation.

The accompanying music video adds another layer of intimacy, featuring behind-the-scenes clips of Lynch and Bennington together, as well as moments that reflect the song’s lyrical themes. It’s more than just a tribute—it’s a celebration of a life well lived.

Lynch has built his career on authenticity, and “Jesus and Bocephus” is yet another testament to his ability to tell a story that resonates. In an era where country music often strays from its roots, Richard Lynch remains a torchbearer, reminding us why we fell in love with the genre in the first place.

Highly recommended.

WEEDS (Elated Remix) by Reina Mora

0

The Los Angeles pop artist Reina Mora has unveiled a remix of her single and music video “Weeds,” originally released last July. However, this remix is not just a cheerful rendition; there’s much more to it. Allow me to elaborate further below.

If you have the opportunity to listen to her original version, you’ll be captivated by her angelic voice, the seamless arrangement of piano melodies, and the beautifully crafted acoustic guitar riffs, all complemented by tight beats and a well-designed atmospheric backdrop, showcased through a skillfully filmed and directed music video. The latest version offers a fresh perspective on her vocal talents. As I mentioned before, I’m truly impressed by her ethereal vocals, and I appreciate how they are delivered in a powerful and emotive style in this remix. The piano here carries a more cheerful tone to maintain the alternative pop vibe, yet it becomes more pronounced with EDM beats. But don’t misunderstand me; the beats are expertly crafted, resulting in an incredible fusion.

Reina Mora unveiled her music video for the WEEDS (Elated Remix) on Valentine’s Day, delving into themes of heartbreak within love. This EDM remix, crafted by Elated, encourages listeners to dance, cry, and fully embrace their emotions. Director Eric J Vasquez creatively pays tribute to Fiona Apple by referencing her iconic “Criminal” music video, a gesture that Reina appreciated, as noted in her press kit. In my opinion, this remix transcends the typical rework of an original track; it reveals a new facet of the artist and signifies the rise of a burgeoning pop star. Cheers to that!

If you’re familiar with the original song, you’ll quickly appreciate its energetic guitar riffs, strong vocals, and melodic violin lines. Each of these elements has been meticulously crafted to contribute to one of her most celebrated hits.

In her rendition of “I’m Only Me When I’m With You,” she offers a fresh perspective that highlights her remarkable emotive vocal style, capable of resonating deeply with listeners. The addition of a soft piano arrangement complemented by melodic strings creates an undeniably iconic release. Cheryl shared her thoughts on reinterpreting the track in a ballad style, stating, “I have wanted to do a cover of a Taylor Swift song for quite some time now. She is so prolific, it was hard to choose the right one. Taylor wrote ‘I’m Only Me When I’m With You’ when she was just 13 years old. I wanted to take the song in a new direction. The slower tempo gives it a mature, heartfelt feeling.”

Her ability to infuse each note with genuine emotion makes every rendition memorable and impactful. Fans of Cheryl Craigie eagerly anticipate what she will bring to the music scene next, as her creative journey continues to evolve and inspire. Her unique interpretations and original compositions reflect a profound understanding of music’s power to heal and connect, leaving an indelible mark on all who listen.
