Manchester artist Jay Kurdy encapsulated the essence of the 90s era in his recently released single, “Rise Again.”
Although, I am not a rap or hip-hop fan, still, I cannot deny that when I was young these genres were available in mixtapes. So imagine you’re listening to Michael Jackson, Guns N’ Roses, then Tupac all in the same collection cassette tape. I miss these days so much although now it’s easy as you can find anything on demand. In my opinion, Jay Kurdy is a game changer here as he can be a revival to such a golden era. It’s pretty nice really that the purpose of the track message to the youth is that it’s acceptable to fail as long as you bounce back. Which is very important these days in such a digital world.
“Rise Again” includes Rob Wheeler, a fantastic addition to the song that evokes the nostalgic 90s style. The simplicity of the music allows listeners to easily absorb and connect with it. The well-crafted beats and the piano arrangement stand out to me. Overall, I can’t find any flaws in this track. Without a doubt, this song by Jay Kurdy has secured a spot in my music collection for 2024. Cheers!
