The latest release from the infinitely bountiful Namibian phenomenon Proklaim herald, as usual, a brand-new sound for him. On ‘Soul Session’, Proklaim is changing skin by going to a rather old-school hip-hop sound.

Namibian artist Proklaim is based in the Namibian capital Windhoek. A rapper through and through, Proklaim is one of Africa’s most active and fastest rising stars. With a steady stream of new releases, Proklaim’s output has been of a uniform quality and of a plentiful, consistent nature. He always stuns with his fluid flows and his rhythmically engaging rapping, and his seemingly fluent ability to shapeshift alongside his music and beats, bringing us soul, latin, afro, calypso, and much more.

On ‘Soul Session’, Proklaim’s latest single and experiment, Proklaim is delivering an old-school, east coast groove and a cool, descending line to support his usual, acrobatic delivery. The production is on spot with its grainy nature and uber-compressed beat, transforming us right back to the late 90s when soul rap was all the rage with legendary figures like 2Pac.

‘Soul Session’ is one more fresh and engaging little rap track that showcases yet another of Proklaim’s musical ideas, and his trademark fitting execution.
