Tori Boltwood is a Fort Worth, Texas-based solo artist and vocalist/songwriter. In 2020, she began releasing independent music. She spent three years studying musical theater and classical vocal instruction. Elvis Presley and Cher are among her numerous influences. Her latest single, “Stay On The Moon, which she wrote and performed and was published in April of this year, encapsulates all of her inspirations in a single song.

I was astounded when I first heard this song since it is so distinctly unique. The only other time I felt this way was the first time I heard a Kate Bush song. The music’s distinctive vitality draws you in almost immediately; it possesses a hypnotic quality that compels you to listen to it on repeat. The slow-paced 80s synth and reverberating vocals do evoke the boundless expanse of space. Tori Boltwood’s classical roots permeate her vocals, lending this song a unique individuality.

Tonally resembling “Space Oddity” owing to the sophisticated use of mixing that immerses the listener in a universe formed in the music, creating a sensation of isolation. This song’s serene ambiance halts time while suspending the listener in space.
