Petra Jasmiina releases a new folky-pop single titled “Summer Dress”…a very pure, raw, and emotional musical journey that came from a very personal place…from within…and came to her on her NYC rooftop…so, this is a personal expression not just a song…that’s why it hits harder.

Petra is a Finnish artist living in NYC, following her dreams, following the music that resonates within her soul…I think it’s not only that the artist is searching for the music, but the music also searches for the artist, and in this case, “Summer Dress” searched for and found its artist…

Petra created a stunning folk-pop ballad musical that keeps evolving till it reaches a melodic peak around the last third of its runtime…

With its angelic vocals intro that goes against the melodic folk guitars…absolutely mesmerizing intro…then the song stabilizes with the guitar carrying the compositional structure, while the vocals dance and soar within this musical world…

…there is a filtered drum beat driving the motion of the song, in the background, along with vocal layers and choir-like vocal elements with smooth yet wide-sounding string sections.

Petra’s vocals build-up, getting stronger with each passing verse and fly higher the more we delve deeper into the song…then ends on a very raw and emotional note, returning the audience to earth after this soaring musical flight.

Wishing all the best to Petra in both her musical and personal lives…can’t wait to experience more of Petra’s charismatic and iconic musicality.

Cheers!
