Marc Beziat’s latest 6-piece EP comes after a short hiatus of sorts. Claimed by Beziat as a return to form, the single we are discussing today is the gracefully triumphant Star of Peace, a piece that’s lush with movement and color.

Wrapped in a gentle flow and embedded with eloquent motifs, ‘The Star of Peace’ is the lead single off Marc Beziat’s latest EP titled Prague 2024 Sessions. A Parisian, Marc Beziat is a classical composer and arranger whose delicate musicality is adequate with both whisper-quiet orchestration and thunderous fanfare, of both we find traces on ‘The Star of Peace’, while never settling on either.

The piece shifts from the rich choirs to the brasses, to an earthen clarinet and violin duet, then back to the brasses and the choir, all while engulfed in a serene coat of strings, arranged to an ensemble. The melodic lines are short and easy to grasp and the harmony is as clear as day, making for an engaging and easily compelling listen, while the dynamic arrangement makes the experience a shifting one that never feels settled in one place, and the fantastic sound quality elevates the whole listening experience to a rich, miniature euphoria.

Marc Beziat’s welcome return takes the shape of a gently victorious piece, full of emotive power and arrangement adequacy. A thoroughly enjoyable listen.
