At the crossroads of music and meditation, Vancouver singing bowl performing artist and singer songwriter, Theda (Theeda) Phoenix has released her latest collection of intuitive music. Setting the energy with crystal singing bowls and ethereal vocals, Phoenix invites listeners into a world of high vibration soundscapes with Crystal Calm Volume 2.

Born and raised in the incredible beauty of British Columbia, by the White Rock shores and a float-home on the ocean of Echo Bay, Simoom Sound, the connection to coastal nature has been integral in Theda Phoenix’s life.

“Shy and introverted as a child, I always had a strong sense of nature that nurtured my intuitive sensitivities.  I discovered my calling early on, through a deep emotional connection to the beauty of music and a profound spiritual experience. I became passionate about the mind/body connection, holistic healing and self-development, and about music as a tool for healing. I love to sing intuitively, create songs in the moment and perform sound healing journeys that inspire others to access the healing power of sound and singing.

These passions come through in Crystal Calm Volume 2, where the singing bowls and Phoenix’s ethereal vocals are the main feature. Crystal singing bowls, made of quartz are different sizes and set to different pitches and frequencies and have the ability to balance brain waves. Phoenix weaves a sonic tapestry, part meditation and part song that transports the listener on a harmonizing inward journey.

With water sounds recorded live by Producer Sam Ryan, of India’s Ganges River tributaries, Phoenix vocally harmonizes with the bowls, her voice accompanying and floating over the crystalline frequencies. The use of binaural recording technology, creates an immersive three dimensional, surround sound experience for the listener, which is enhanced when wearing headphones.The effect is mystical and all-encompassing, lulling the listener into altered states of peace, whether meditating, receiving a healing treatment or simply relaxing.
