Rising singer-songwriter Maddox Jones pays loving tribute to his roots with the release of the heartfelt new single ‘It Ain’t Perfect, But It’s Home’.
Originally written in response to a BBC Northampton call for songwriters to create a love song to their hometown, the track beautifully captures Maddox’s deep connection to Northampton, from late-night memories as a young adult to watching the town’s landscape evolve over the years. After posting an acoustic version on TikTok, the song quickly resonated with thousands in his local community and has since been played at a local football match.
Warm, honest, and full of affection, ‘It Ain’t Perfect, But It’s Home’ is available now as an acoustic version on all major streaming platforms via Radikal Records, with a full band rendition set to follow soon.
Maddox Jones said of the song: “Northampton isn’t perfect, but it’s home — and that’s worth singing about.”
This spring, Maddox will take his music on the road, supporting Tyler Hilton and Kate Voegele on their European tour celebrating the music of One Tree Hill, with dates in Copenhagen, Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Zurich, and Milan.
With a strong track record that includes early success with The Departure (four Top 40 hits, performances at Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, and supporting The Killers and Placebo), Maddox has built a dedicated following as a solo artist.
