Sweden – Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends release a newly refined album version of “Sing-Along Songs,” transforming the 2024 original into the sharper, punkier, and more playful track its writer always envisioned.
Originally released in 2024, “Sing-Along Songs” is an upbeat amalgam of punk and power pop with a hint of folk rock, ironic lyrics for dark ages delivered with infectious energy. For the new album version, the artist pushed the song closer to its original intent: tighter, more aggressive, yet still playful. The differences are most striking in the intro and the second and third choruses, where co-producer David Myhr adds wonderfully catchy background vocals. The overall mix is clearer and better balanced from start to finish.
In another life, Alien Friend played guitar and sang in the Swedish band Redmoon. This is his solo project. Between 2021 and 2025, Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends released a string of singles and two albums. While many of the songs draw on power pop, folk, and indie rock, often rooted in the musical soil of the sixties and seventies, there is no nostalgia here. The lyrics remain heartfelt, poetic, sometimes ironic, but always contemporary and honest.
The newly released album The King and the Sparrow continues to explore new (and sometimes old) musical directions, with several tracks echoing Swedish folk music. “Sing-Along Songs (Album Version)” sits firmly in the project’s more immediate, sing-along tradition while benefiting from the sharper production approach of the current era.
