UK pop rising star Ines Rae recently released a heartfelt new single ‘Someone Else’s Heart’. Performing a vulnerable and soul-searching account of her emotions around the time of her father’s heart transplant, the artist has been praised on social media for sharing her story, receiving 40 million views worldwide. Support from BBC Radio 1’s Jodie Bryant and a celebrity ambassador position for NHS England have surrounded the new single, with previous support coming from across music press, radio and playlist editorials.

‘Someone Else’s Heart’ is deeply confessional, but laced with a glowing folk-pop soundscape. Surrounded by powerful drums and layers of warm acoustic guitar and piano, Ines writes a flowing and atmospheric story. The track steadily builds into the final chorus, where the gritty guitars and soaring synth arpeggios take over, lifting Ines’ vocal performance into an emotional climax that unveils all the fears and pain.

Ines shares: ”It’s really special to me because this song is about one of the people I love most in the world – and how it felt to watch him go through something so monumental and almost unfathomable to most people. It’s also a summary of my own feelings at a very challenging time in my life – and while sometimes I think it’s a moment I’d rather not dwell on too much – as time heals sometimes the memory of it start to fade – having the song means I’ll always have my own musical time capsule I guess.”

Ines has spent time working with the likes of Bastille and Fickle Friends, and written with a slew of prolific industry songwriters, already seeing success with the Emily In Paris featured single ‘Never Get It Right’ alongside award-winning producer Shura.
