Ciao! releases their debut Dream Pop single ‘Mayday in E Major’, a utopian, experimental track that transports us to a surreal world of our own making.
‘Mayday in E Major’ begins fading in and out as someone who walks in a dream and wakes up, returning to reality.
An otherworldly feeling begins when music and vocals meet, as the latter carries a spacey sound, adding to the whimsical sense of the verses. Some of which are:
“Day one: a leash undone
Up and stagger through cheers
And parade and bubbles
On my way home
No one can know for sure.”
The debut track is the prelude from the forthcoming album “Scary Haha” by Ciao! a 10-track album written between hospital beds and friends’ homes.
The upcoming album fuses classical, jazz, indie rock, and world music elements with electronic landscapes and beats. The album’s lyrics are a path to narrate the story of the artist’s battles with cancer, debilitating treatments, recovery, relapse, and uncertainty while also taking into account someone’s dreams, hopes, and fears.
