Profoundly powerful, colorful, and loud, Majeska’s latest single and the accompanying video are a bold audiovisual statement about how our current virtual lives affect our perception and hurt our communication, eventually doing more damage than we usually like to admit.

Burgeoning Nashville artist Majeska has been causing some stir in her local musical communities for a while now, and her latest single, titled ‘Please Wait, Saving…’ has been anticipated since she started playing it in love shows earlier in 2023. With its hyper-classical composition, the tape-warping effect on the delicate, eerie piano arpeggios, gives the song a haunting aesthetic that makes Majeska’s words feel like an eternal plea for attention to dire causes.

The artist’s clear lyrical vulnerability and classical inspirations draw odd parallels between this song and ‘Micro Cuts’ by Muse, another intense and classically inspired song about the wounds that can easily be caused by technology, if not used in moderation.

The video, directed by another Nashville-based artist, Talia Stewart, is poignant, while simplistic in its scenery and composition, making each frame easily understandable,  and just as easily shocking. Majeska’s performance, draped in the loudly seductive red, sitting helplessly in a glass cage, is heartfelt and moving. The song’s fusion of classical music introduction and dark electro-pop makes the music compelling and always moves from one style to another.

Majeska’s ‘Please Wait, Saving…’ is a haunting arrow to the heart. Loud and symbolic, it displays our lives in the glass cage of our phones and social media presences, constantly fishing for attention and reactions from people around us. Inspiring and eloquent.
