Leshere is set to release his debut single “Serotonin” on March 24, which he describes as “an anthem for reluctant party animals”.
Hailing from Manchester, UK, Leshere is the moniker of singer/songwriter/producer Michael Huit. With 7 years of experience performing choral, pop, and jazz, he decided to kickstart his solo career with this debut release.
The song is titled after the chemical our body produces and uses as a neurotransmitter called “Serotonin.” Commonly referred to as the “happy hormone,” it contributes to feelings of happiness and well-being while regulating our mood, appetite, sleep, and other important bodily functions.
“Serotonin” starts off with an ambient synth, melodic keys, and guitar lead line before transitioning into a more spacious soundscape that highlights Leshere’s soothing and warm voice and the stunning backing vocal harmonies. As the guitar arpeggio triggers the chorus, the song picks up the energy with a phased rhythm guitar, dynamic drum line, and lead synth complemented by a catchy sing-along vocal line and lively backing vocals
“Serotonin” is an impressive debut that demonstrates Leshere’s potential as an up-and-coming artist. It is a well-produced and well-written song that highlights Leshere’s talent and musical skills, resulting in an engaging and unforgettable listening experience.
