Leo Golo’s 4th single of his upcoming album, titled ‘Too Close’ is an extremely catchy piece of soul pop with leanings on funk, contemporary pop, and with hints of afrobeat thrown in for good measure. ‘Too Close’ is an extremely well-made piece of beautifully written pop.

Catalonian singer and songwriter Leo Golo is back with the 4th single of his debut album. After a string of different pop sounds ranging from the upbeat, to the ballad, to the synth-led, Leo Golo is experimenting with funk and soul on ‘Too Close’. Sung about undefined attraction that leads nowhere, mixed signals, and missed signs, ‘Too Close’ is flirty in its words and its music.

The mix of ‘Too Close’ is absolutely stunning. A wonderful sounding song. The playful synth leads, the funky rhythm guitar, and the general melancholy-laced darkness all help create an intoxicating and unforgettable atmosphere, just like that one felt at the start of attraction to somebody new. ANGE’s female voice feature is spot on, adding just the right amount of salt to Golo’s caramel smooth delivery.

An immediately catchy piece of songwriting, and a dizzyingly soulful duet, ‘Too Close’ is too close to being a perfect soul pop song.
