Bop That Rhythm by Sky Canyon

Let me tell you about a perfect morning for me…

Waking up early…

A cup of french coffee…

Sitting on the balcony…

Listening to jazz…

…and this perfect morning will never achieve this culmination if it wasn’t for the jazz part.

I’m glad to report that today was a perfect morning for me…because of the amazing Mr.Sky Canyon.

Sky is a veteran American musician from Boulder, Colorado with over 50 years in the business, composing, conducting, playing in orchestras…Sky’s talents are deeply rooted in jazz…however, he plays classical in symphony orchestra and he’s also extremely well versed in latin and new age music.

The fusion of all of Sky’s musical life experiences has made him an apex musician and given him a full view of the musical genre wavelength…wherever you’re standing on this musical genre wavelength, he would have already broken new grounds there.

Sky’s love of jazz started at a very early age and took him places…one his stops in life was with the vibraphone master Terry Gibbs, where he studied with him…and it was a life-changing experience that unlocked Sky’s true potential…and literally…Sky’s the limit.

“Bop That Rhythm” is Sky’s latest release…and it’s a beast of a track.

It’s jazz…raw, unfiltered and in your face…if you can call jazz that!

The track is masterfully crafted to allow for all musicians to showcase their skills, while being extremely melodic and catchy…

…it’s also impeccably recorded to perfection as Sky recorded with A-lister musicians from the Denver area.

The piano is at the highest levels of melodic jazz mastery…

Sky’s vibraphone jazz action is…infinite…the catchy melodic lines and licks never ends…and it takes you to places you never thought of.

The upright bass not just adds the soul of the “bopping” of the track, but also the bass solo is absolutely amazing.

The drums of course drive the whole tune, and also shines bright during its solo near the end of the track.

It’s the kind of jazz tune that could lift your mood and put you in a better mental state…it’s also the kind of tune that could easily be utilized for film, I can imagine the montage it’s being used for during a major hollywood production…and nothing less.

The track should really never end…but sadly it does at six minutes, six seconds.

…”Bop That Rhythm” could easily take my whole morning playing on loop and I wouldn’t want it to end.

Sky, we are thrilled about all of your upcoming musical projects and we can’t wait for your next releases.

Wishing you all the best in life.

Cheers!
