Lee Miller Matsos’s “Metamorphosis, Pt.” is an emotionally charged EP that will take you on an intense rollercoaster where you’ll sense both pain and hope in your core. The EP doesn’t take us on a random journey; it takes us on our own bumpy healing journey, so you better be emotionally prepared because it’s overwhelming yet enjoyable.

When an opera and musical theater performer turns to a musician, something epic like “Metamorphosis, Pt. 1” must be the result. The introspective lyricism is offered by a sincere, passionate performance, where you get to feel every lyric and go to the depths along with the relatable story.

“Metamorphosis, Pt. 1” is a mixture of Pop and Rock, where the musical arrangement manages to convey both ache and grace to align with the six-track’s themes. It’s incredible how all the components work together to make the songs hit a sensitive chord and make you feel as if you’re hearing your personal story, which makes you feel that you’re not alone. “The pain of metamorphosis is “our pain.” We are never alone in our pain, as much as it might seem that way.” Lee Miller Matsos says.

Hearing the six songs, I felt a resemblance to Coldplay; nevertheless, the talented artist has his own authentic flair and outstanding musical artistry. Each song is distinct from the other; the passionate instruments sing along with the melodic vocals differently to deliver a certain emotion that belongs to a certain life phase. However, they’ll feel connected and move in a harmonic sequence to make a gentle transition from the first song “Just A Little Lift” and its mellow introduction with the captivating piano notes along to Lee’s heartwarming vocals, moving to more spirited yet painful like “Metamorphosis” and “Who Are They To Stop Love,” then melancholic with heart-melting, powerful vocals and swaying rhythms in “Forgiveness,” and lastly, we conclude with more insightful, graceful pieces, which are “Worthy” and the closing track, “Another Life.”

Every song has an individual listening experience, quality musicality, and a soul-stirring vocal performance. I liked them all; however, there’s a song that captured my attention the most. I felt connected and touched by every little detail about it, and I kept repeating it many times, feeling the same serene and positive feeling at every repeat. The song is “Worthy,” which is an inspirational message with dreamy soundscapes and intense emotional nuances.

You might be walking alone on your journey, but Lee Miller Matsos decided to walk along with you in his own sensational way. “Metamorphosis, Pt. 1” is here to solace you and push you to go the extra mile whenever you’re ready. Your journey gets to be filled with haunting melodies and colored with energetic rhythms; don’t you feel it’s already better?
