Movin by OLESIA GLANTS

Dubai might be one of the biggest global capitals for nightlife and entertainment, with such little amount of music calling it home. Ukrainian-born Olesia Glants is here to prove that the Middle East’s futuristic haven isn’t lacking in terms of musical creativity with ‘Movin’.

A dark and menacing atmosphere is spun by Glants on her latest throbbing piece of infinitely replayable techno. ‘Movin’ moves forward using arresting synth bass stabs supporting eerie sound design that’s also provided by hard-hitting synths. Olesia’s moody lulls are greatly charismatic throughout the song and the hook is one that effortlessly hangs in the ears, whether it be by the melancholic vocal oohs on synth riffs, or by Glant’s instantly memorable vocal motif.

The terrific production sees Glants continue to operate independently from big-name producers or record labels, and proves in the process that going indie can yield fantastic results when it comes in support of pure skill and a vision that’s left to roam wildly and freely. ‘Moving’ is a fun listen from start to finish.

Giants probably could tell that ‘Movin’ -at two and a half minutes- is too short, which might be why she constructed it in a way that makes it loop rather effortlessly. While writing this piece I must have heard the song a minimum of 15 times, and hardly noticed it looping at all. A song built for the dance floor, ‘Movin’ is readily enjoyable everywhere.
