Reflecting on difficult experiences through heartfelt introspective songwriting, Seymour brings together influences of indie, rock and jazz, creating atmospheres that entice with a unique sound. Writing and performing from the age of sixteen, the artist has developed into a powerful storyteller, showing young women that they deserve to speak their truth freely, without judgment.

Seymour’s most recent single is the mystic bleakness of ‘Voicenote Monologue’. Opening with reverberant, gorgeously layered guitar chords, each layer of instrumentation is added so subtly that you don’t immediately notice it. A swell of bass, a gentle arpeggio a distant echo, all lead us to an emotive chorus in which Seymour lets loose with her emotions, ditching the reserved personality for a raw and agonised performance. As the track switches between rising out of the darkness and diving deeper into it, listeners are pulled about by the passion, feeling everything the artist feels as the boundaries are broken down and the vocals cry out into the distortion. It’s a powerful ballad with just the right amount of overdriven grit.

The artist speaks on the track, ”The song talks about my experience with a friend who I had spent years opening up to and supporting only to find out they’d been talking about my private life to other people. The lyrics discuss how I felt betrayed yet stupid for falling for their years of manipulation and how much I regretted all the energy I had spent supporting them over the years. The song builds in the bridge to show the cathartic feeling of knowing I was free of this friendship that wasn’t real, and the quiet ending suggests how I’ve let go of the hurt and how I’m moving on from the situation. The drum and bass parts were recorded live in Strongroom studios by my friends Leah and Maz and another friend, Kav was my recording engineer. Patch Chiverton, a close friend of mine produced and mixed this song which made it the powerful cathartic song it is and another close friend AJ Ruiz was my master engineer.”
