A unique duo with a remarkable sound, Tell Me Brother is a one-of-a-kind blend of Rock, Blues, and Funk that will get your body moving, and your mind thinking.
The Aussie Pop duo, based in Melbourne, is back with another intoxicating release from their upcoming EP. Tell Me Brother challenges societal norms of masculinity with a sound that’s purely inspired. The distinctive mix features drums that sound a little too low, but with an immediate punch and an unmistakable groove, and an infectious dash of claps and other percussive elements, making me believe the recording would have exploded if they were a little higher in volume. The mix also features a precious Funk guitar that plays the classic wahwah-ed syncopated chops. It’s delightful, colorful, and immaculately played. The bass is a beast on this one, carrying the outstanding Mixolydian riffs on its shoulders, sounding boomy, wooden, and bouncy. Extremely rich. The star of the show, without a hint of doubt, is the uber-charismatic vocal delivery. Rich, seductive, and memorable, the bluesy delivery is made whole with a haunting harmony backing that makes the chords sound bigger and delivers the sound of the composition.
President Street is definitely a distinctive duo. Their music is eclectically written, performed, and mixed. With a healthy serving of talent and musicality on all possible fronts, the voice is rich and fun, the beats are unique and groovy, and the guitars and bass make dancing a given with Tell Me Brother. An essential blend of Funk, Blues, and Rock.
