Gifted musicians don’t offer one color of music. They know how to vary and still be authentic. Kelsie Kimberlin, a young artist, is one of these musicians who derive their artistic identity from being genuine, regardless of their musical flair. She can offer an upbeat take as she did in her latest track, “Cosmopolitan Girl,” or an intense, emotional capacity as in “Right Place, Wrong Time,” right here.

I learned about the 22-year-old emerging star when I got to review her vivid song, “Cosmopolitan Girl.” And now that I’ve heard her single “Right Place Wrong Time,” which was released last year, I’ve got to say that this artist has her own cosmic musicality. She knows how to get to one’s core with her writing and performing sensitivity, whether the theme is positive or melancholic.

“Right Place Wrong Time” is the personification of the ghosts of a relationship hanging in every scar it left. Kelsie was able to create a song that was as haunting as the pain of such a toxic relationship that made one wish it had never happened.

Many people had gone through a painful breakup with the devastating aftermath. That’s why the single will be highly relatable and will somehow offer both effects of squeezing the wounds and soothing them. The poignant lyricism portrays how a person could lie on the bed, paralyzed by the burden they’re bearing, preventing them from healing and finding another opportunity to be at the right place at the right time.

“I need a time machine to do it all again,” we sometimes wish. To be honest, and slightly selfishly, I’m glad Kelsie didn’t, because we wouldn’t have this emotionally charged tune. Her intoxicating voice perfectly conveys the wistful yet hopeful timbre of the lyrics. She has velvety, melodic vocals that, however gloomy the emotions they may carry, will always leak bright rays of serenity and positivity.

The atmospheric composition gives a warm feeling of the “right place,” yet is intense and edgy like the “wrong time.” The piano notes delicately and soulfully harmonize with the sensational vocals to deliver an overwhelming flood of emotions. Although it may elicit unpleasant memories, it will create a safe bubble in which you will be soothed and anesthetized by the hypnotic overall mood.

It’s certainly always the right time to hear Kelsie Kimberlin’s introspective music! I can’t wait to see what else she’ll offer in her creative journey in her own stellar musical galaxy.
