After years of disappearance and going off-grid, The Mars McClanes are finally back to celebrate their 21st anniversary. After splitting up back in 2001, right after they released their 2nd album, the band members went through rough times and went in different directions only to finally reunite to pick up where they left off.

The trio band members are Russ Chapman on guitar, Paul Constantine on Drums, and Brian Corly frontman and vocalist.  Fans of The Black Keys, Spoon, and Wilco will relate more to the style and sound of The Mars McClanes. They like to play around with different styles and genres falling under the category of Indie pop/alt, rock/alt, and country.

They made their return in 2020 and released their first single in this new era “Riddle” followed by “The worriers”. The song emerged during the recording sessions at Southern comfort studio that is built in the basement of Waylon Jennings’s former Nashville home. The song is mainly about “Worrying” and how we let it get in the way of things in our life leading us to miss out on opportunities and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

It’s also about how we sometimes worry too much about our relationships and how they might end that we forget to enjoy them now while they’re still here. It later reaches the conclusion or life lesson of ‘embracing immortality’. The music is upbeat and cheerfully energetic. The drumline is significant and contributes to the musicality of the song with a stable and consistent guitar line.

“In Life, we screw up. But in the end, most of our regrets will be the chances we didn’t take.” The Mars McClanes
