Walk What You Say by Alicja S

0

Alicja S’s latest release, Walk What You Say, is indeed an epitome of sweet and raw vulnerability. From the very first note, this haunting ballad draws you into a deeply intimate world of reflection, longing, and heartache. Produced by Clement Musco, the track is a remarkable fusion of musical influences from Poland, Italy, and the U.S., creating a truly global sound that somehow feels intensely personal.

The song is a tender exploration of love’s most fragile moments. Those unspoken thoughts and fleeting emotions that ripple beneath the surface of relationships. Alicja S captures these delicate nuances with incredible grace, her voice achingly beautiful as she sings with both hesitation and courage. There’s a trembling honesty in her delivery, as though she’s baring her soul for all to see, yet still holding back just enough to keep us wondering, aching with her.

Lyrically, Walk What You Say is a masterful expression of vulnerability, exploring the quiet tension between words and actions in love. The lines, “you show your true way when you walk what you say,” echo throughout the song, almost like a plea, a longing for someone to not just say the right things, but to truly live them. It’s a message that speaks to anyone who’s ever been caught in the space between promises and reality, between hope and disappointment. Alicja’s introspective words are like a window into her heart, revealing the depth of her emotional journey, yet somehow resonating with the listener’s own experiences of love and loss.

But what truly makes Walk What You Say stand out is the sincerity that pulses through every moment of the track. Alicja S doesn’t just sing about love; she invites you to feel it with her. The joy, the uncertainty, the fear of being vulnerable, and the longing for something real. Her voice, soft yet powerful, carries the weight of those emotions, and as you listen, you can’t help but be pulled into her world. It’s as if she’s having a quiet conversation with your heart, reminding you of the times you, too, have wondered if someone’s words could ever truly match their actions.

For anyone who’s ever wrestled with love’s complexities, with the tension between what’s said and what’s done, Walk What You Say is an absolute must-listen. Alicja S offers more than just a song, she offers a piece of her heart, and in doing so, touches ours.

Never Enough by JUMA MUSIC (feat. JPRIZM)

0

Brilliantly captured through their latest release, JUMA MUSIC X JPRiZM highlight the bittersweet reality of falling in love with someone who is more in love with their screen life than their real one. Cleverly addressing the unfortunate impact of our digital age, the duo touches on themes of privacy, judgment, and the obsessive pursuit of external validation.

Their re-released single, “Never Enough,” accompanied by a fresh video and new cover art, is a timely reflection on the pressures of social media in relationships. The song, recorded in Boston, Massachusetts, showcases JUMA MUSIC’s sharp lyricism, which seamlessly blends with JPRiZM’s polished production. Together, they explore the way social media warps our identity and self-worth, resonating with listeners who’ve felt the impact of digital overexposure.

The music video brings these themes to life, following JUMA as he attempts to win the affection of the girl of his dreams, only to find himself constantly competing with her smartphone. In a comedic yet all-too-real series of scenes, we see him take her on romantic escapades, from the iconic Eiffel Tower to a breathtaking safari. Yet, no matter how spectacular the scenery, her attention remains glued to her screen. In one of the video’s most memorable lines, JUMA laments, “I show you sunshine and good time, and it’s NOT EVER ENOUGH.”

This tension, highlighted throughout the track, taps into something deeply relatable: the feeling that our genuine human connections are being overshadowed by the endless pursuit of likes, comments, and views. JUMA and JPRiZM don’t just tell this story. They live it in the playful visuals, which strike a balance between humor and commentary on how social media has become the third wheel in many relationships.

Musically, “Never Enough” shines with JUMA’s dynamic rap delivery and JPRiZM’s melodic hooks. The track feels both fresh and timeless, a perfect blend of hip-hop’s narrative style with electronic-driven beats. JPRiZM’s hook, “Live for love, not for likes,” sums up the song’s core message. It’s not just about calling out social media’s impact, but about reclaiming the moments we often miss in our obsession with virtual validation.

Originally released in 2019, “Never Enough” feels even more relevant today, and the decision to re-release it shows the enduring nature of its message. In a world where online personas often overshadow real-life connections, JUMA MUSIC X JPRiZM remind us of the importance of presence and the dangers of living for the screen.

Love & Grief by Sophia Stephens

0

With a deep voice and lyrical mastery, Indiana-based singer/songwriter Sophia Stephens is entering the scene in full force with her latest release, an electrifying album, titled “Love & Grief”. Ever since she could figure out how to use a pencil, Stephens has been journaling music and she has since impressively completed around 500 songs.

“From a very young age I have always loved performances and singing,” shared Stephens. “My family can tell many stories about how I would sing and dance for them, and once even reenacted the entire Disney Frozen movie. However, until I was a fifth grader and auditioned for my school’s musical, no one knew that I could give a real performance. During my first audition, I managed to get the role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast and, soon after, I fell in love with the stage.

Tracklist:

  1. Muscle Memory
  2. Get Go
  3. Up in Flames
  4. Love & Grief
  5. Enough is Enough
  6. Things Will Never Be The Same
  7. Little Things
  8. Time Passes by
  9. I’m Still Here
  10. Beautiful Life

The album ranges from pop, rock, to indie, and soul. Each song tells a different story with a new flavor of music, but still maintaining the lyrical genius that Stephens has become famous for. She is inspired by Florence and the Machine, Lorde, Hozier, and Adele. At only 17 years old, she released her very first EP “Remnental” and she’s now moving on to release her debut album “Love & Grief”, which we are about to delve deep into.

For instance, “Enough is Enough” takes a rock turn that is described as one of the favorite things that Stephens sang on the whole album. It has a chant-like chorus, and eloquent harmonies that are appealing, along with lyrics that speak deep to your soul.

“For the rest of my time in middle school, when I was on the stage it was for theater,” continued Stephens. “Despite this, I was filling up entire journals with song lyrics. When COVID hit, and I was stuck in my bedroom for almost two years, I spent most of that time focusing on writing. I taught myself guitar, experimented with production, and found my style. Now, songwriting is second nature to me.

The album’s title track “Love & Grief” is more on the softer spectrum of the album, which features effortless falsetto notes by Stephens. As for “Little Things”, the song starts off with the piano and acoustic guitar tunes that draw you into the story.

Talking about “Little Things”, Stephens shared that “this song was one of the more challenging ones for me to record vocally, because I wanted my voice to express love,” and indeed, the happiness bleeds over into her vocals. Although perfecting that sound was a challenge, once she finally found the style, recording went smoothly.

Last but not least, “Beautiful Life” ends the record on a beautiful note indeed. The ballad was created by producer Anthony Galatis, and it carries a heartfelt message that we will all eventually pass, so it’s crucial to look back on your life without any regrets – especially when you’ve had plenty of love.

The song features Stephen’s ethereal vocals, but this time, the lyrics might bring you to tears. The electrifying electric guitar takes you on a climaxing journey that slows down near the middle of the song, before picking up the pace near the end to wrap up the album on a high note.

“I’m scared. Are you scared?” sings Stephens. And no, Stephens. With your music easing our love and grief, we don’t feel afraid anymore to face the world headfirst!

Dog & Bone by Steve Young UK

This YouTube exclusive release of one of Steve Young’s live favorites features a stellar live performance of ‘Dog & Bone’, an arresting piece of folk country. Wonderfully played, the clip is a great display of Steve Young and his talented collaborators working their magic, live from the studio.

English folk singer and songwriter Steve Young is based in Stevenage. This live rendition of ‘Dog & Bone’ was recorded within the span of two hours on an iPhone, capturing the band rehearsing before performing live to 5000 people in a local Hertfordshire music festival. The clip features American country singer Savannah Gardner and Young’s longtime violinist and collaborator Jade Cuthbert.

‘Dog & Bone’ is a wonderfully melodic piece of music that is artful, elegant, and memorable. With its simple melodies and infectious instrumental palette, ‘Dog & Bone’ features arresting banjo lines, a stellar violin solo, and a steady, warm strummed rhythm acoustic guitar line to keep everything else in check. The warmth of the arrangement is fully accessed with the layered vocals singing in harmony, creating a lush backdrop for Young’s soft-spoken vocals and affectionate delivery.

The simplicity of the recording is a façade for a song that completely needs no improvement. ‘Dog & Bone’ is gorgeously melodic and rich.

Lonely Dirt Road by DAX

0

There’s something about long car rides that brings us peace, and Dax perfectly captures that warmth and comfort in his latest single, Lonely Dirt Road. This song feels like slipping into a familiar place, where the hum of the tires and the endless stretch of road offer a quiet space for reflection, healing, and escape.

Recorded in the serene landscapes of Missoula, Montana, Lonely Dirt Road draws from Dax’s deeply personal experiences, especially his mental health walks, which over time evolved into those long, therapeutic car rides. The track’s soft, haunting melody pulls you in, and with LexNour’s production guiding the journey, it creates a space where listeners can truly breathe. The song feels like a conversation between the heart and the road; a place where, for a moment, the weight of life is lifted.

In the verse, “On that road is where I find my peace, I remember Daddy told me about some times like these, On that road is where my mind is at ease, I keep driving life away, rejecting change so,” Dax speaks directly to the soul. There’s a deep tenderness in the way he reflects on the advice of his father, the memory of those words grounding him in difficult times. Yet, there’s also a quiet sadness in how he confesses to rejecting change; choosing the road over facing the uncertainties of life. It’s a beautiful, bittersweet reminder of how we all seek refuge in the familiar, even when it keeps us from moving forward.

Dax, the heartfelt singer-songwriter from Wichita, pours his entire being into this track. His raw, vulnerable lyrics touch on the universal struggles we all face. Battling inner demons, searching for peace, and longing for a moment of stillness in an overwhelming world. The song isn’t just music; it’s an open invitation to slow down, reflect, and find comfort in knowing that we don’t have to face everything at once.

The collaboration between Dax and LexNour shines through every note, making Lonely Dirt Road not just a song but a loyal companion, a soundtrack for those moments when we need to feel understood. With an album just around the corner, Dax promises even more music that will continue to resonate deeply with those seeking a little peace in the chaos of life.

“This is music for the PEOPLE, spread BY THE PEOPLE,” says Dax. And Lonely Dirt Road is the kind of song you carry with you long after it ends; a companion for those quiet moments when the road is the only place that makes sense.

Aime by Willis Woka

0

Sweet melodies and an arresting composition make Willis Woka’s latest single a truly enchanting pop experience, ‘Aime’ is infinitely easy to love.

Parisian singer and songwriter Willis Woka has a sound that is deeply steeped in traditional euro pop cues. From the healthy and bombastic production, the endlessly familiar and lovable chord changes, easy to sing along melodies, and the steady musical climb to the song’s infectious climax, ‘Aime’ is a song that is very easy to enjoy.

The easiness is not to suggest that ‘Aime’ shows any kind of artistic laziness, though. Quite the opposite in fact, ‘Aime’ is intricate and engaging with its calculated and patient instrumental climb, as well as with its multiple song sections, leading up to the unforgettable chorus, as well as carrying us into and out from the song. ‘Aime’ is a well written song that is written with the sole intention of being stunning in mind.

Pretty and moving, ‘Aime’ is graced with a mixing job that puts everything exactly where it belongs. The watery piano arpeggios, walls of strings, and gargantuan beat are all brilliantly engineered to sound their best and most impactful. ‘Aime’ is a lovely song that is deceptively simple, showcasing a talented songwriter in Willis Woka.

Something Strange by Robert O’Connor

0

I am quite excited to kick off my day with a refreshing and expertly crafted pop single. The talented Irish singer-songwriter Robert O’Connor impresses us once more with his latest track, “Something Strange,” which was released on October 11th across all major streaming platforms.

Following the success of his summer single, “Everything You Wanted,” which received high praise from both critics and fans, amassing over 60,000 streams on Spotify and more than 500 playlist placements, he decided to maintain the positive momentum by releasing another hit, “Something Strange.”

The song effortlessly compels you to dance and sway along with the rhythm, and I believe his emotive and powerful vocals play a crucial role in captivating any listener. Additionally, I am truly impressed by the production and arrangement. Upon reviewing the press kit, I realized how dedicated Robert is to his overall output. He is collaborating once again with his producer, Gareth Shortland, who, as Robert describes, has added “the missing puzzle piece.”

Typically, I am drawn to lyrics that emerge spontaneously without prior arrangement. As Robert expressed, “I don’t know if it was the sun, the sea, or something else, but at that moment I felt an inner sense that I was right where I was supposed to be, in life and in love.” He describes the song as “a wave of contentment,” recalling how he penned the lyrics while lounging at a rooftop pool in Barcelona last summer. This unique experience is what truly sets it apart from other pop songs released recently.

In addition to this pop masterpiece, an extended acoustic mix produced by Jordan Arteaga is on the way, complete with a music video directed by Kapture Lab. I’m truly looking forward to it!
