SLOW MOTION by MOON AND ARIES

Musical sensation and international duo Moon and Aries once again prove their face-melting talents and diverse musical creativity with their latest single “Slow Motion”…a groovy downtempo pop song with Caribbean vibes…I’m sold.

The duo usually finds their home on the top of the charts since they started their collaboration in 2021 and are once again catching our souls with another beautiful song of their making…”Slow Motion” is the brainchild of German producer Tom Aries and Canadian singer Jordana Moon.

The duo have always, always maintained their extremely high standard of releases, and “Slow Motion” is nothing different than being among the most soul-catching songs they’ve released to this date…

“Slow Motion” is actually all about…the motion!

The groove that the bass line creates is haunting…the drum beats order your body to move…the production qualities of the song are of course of the highest caliber and the vocals play with your emotions and open your heart…making your dream, but on a very deep level, almost philosophical.

“Slow Motion” is the new single from their upcoming new LP which will feature 12 themed songs for every month of the year, an absolutely brilliant creative move…

As always, Moon and Aries catch our souls with their release…and we can’t help but fall in love with the mood they created.

Wishing all the best to the magnificent duo.

Cheers!

EP: Am I a Good Man? by BAD BUBBLE

Bad Bubble’s hand-crafted songs and distinct, chorused vocals are always a welcome addition to my day, and they were exceptionally so on his 4-song EP Am I a Good Man.

With songs growing exponentially in scale, the EP starts gently enough before growing to behemoth proportions with a 9-minute-long closer that mirrors the neon-lit electronica of M83’s earlier releaser with Bad Bubble’s distinctive vocal style. A singer and songwriter based in Chicago; Bad Bubble takes special pride in being responsible for every line that you hear on any of his songs. Every synth line and sound is crafted right at home and is played by his own fingers, with only the mastering stage being outsourced.

The sound that Bad Bubble heralds is a perfectly woozy and dim-lit psychedelic electronica. The 4-songs on the album feature a strong presence from electronic elements such as synths and a wealth of post-production effects, maybe with the exclusion of the piano-led starter ‘Dizzy Face’, which sounds more organic and visceral than the other songs’ ethereal, floating glow. Generally, Bad Bubble’s style is emotive and leans towards a more melancholic atmosphere which can be surmised from the dark purple theme that goes through the album art and art for the songs. A theme that sums up the neon-lit, late-night electronic feel that runs throughout the songs.

Bad Bubble certainly has a unique sound that he works very hard to achieve, and on this EP, we get to see more faces of his one-of-a-kind talent on the piano and sound design, as well as on his distinctive vocal presence. An engaging, ambitious listen that’s perfectly smooth and amicable while retaining a strong hint of the alien and bizarre. Things that could easily describe Bad Bubble’s deliciously quirky songs.

Diego Federico unleashes the dynamic new single ‘Drop It’

0

Vienna, Austria-based and Bolzano, Italy-born, Diego Federico has cultivated a passion for the arts through learning piano, singing in choirs, and eventually attending and graduating from the Performing Center Austria. Diego followed this with appearances on Starmania in 2021, which led to his first single releases the following year. Continuing to unveil new avenues of his sound in the time since, Diego is unique and energetic in his music.

Diego’s latest release ‘Drop It’ is a dark and powerful pop anthem, the artist pouring out thumping kick drums, thick, aggressive bass lines and vibrant synth design in the choruses and airy, celestial, moving moments within his sombre verses. Contrasting a pain in his love and an unsympathetic attitude to how he’s been treated, Diego’s verses are laced with raw passion, each piece of the sound design set out on a mission to support his emotions, trying to contain his ferocious performance within their own dynamic grit. A testament to his alternative pop abilities the constant dive between his feelings shows the authenticity of his songwriting.

The artist adds, “Have you ever been hurt by the person you love the most? You cannot really put it into words, but all you want to do is run away.”

The steadiness of the rich string arrangements steadily bubbles over into keys, drums and bass with a momentousness worthy of the silver screen. Della’s vocals follow suit, diving deeper into the passion and fury she speaks to, as her vocals continue to shine, the instrumentation constantly ups the ante, creating a moodiness and brooding atmosphere that is all-encompassing. Crying out into the soundscape with a roaring fierceness, but remaining confident and reserved where necessary, she masterfully enchants the listener with her delivery.

Merlot Embargo release the express self-doubt of ‘All Wrong’

0

Merlot Embargo’s journey began with a harrowing car accident near San Antonio, Texas. Though it destroyed their car, Scarlet and Geoff were miraculously left nearly unscathed, given only a sense of deep self-reflection that would go on to spark their creativity. The duo, an army brat singer-songwriter and native Californian music school nerd and engineer by day, take a contrasting but complementary approach to music, surmising their life experiences with easy. Earning press acclaim and audiences across Southern California, Merlot Embargo offers solace to fans and critics alike.

Merlot Embargo has unveiled their latest single ‘All Wrong’, filled with emotive lyricism and plucky, upbeat movement for a glowing balance of folk and pop. The lead vocals tell a story of self-doubt and confusion with the world around her, the narrative trying to understand where best to move next, delivered with a heartfelt performance, occasionally pulled up with gentle harmonies, as if an extra voice is coaching them through their introspection. Instrumentally, the subtle organ chords, delicate piano melodies and balance of acoustic guitar and drums drive the track forward, creating a forest of shimmering music, a bright and breezy joy around the sombre lyricism.

The band share an insight into the track, “All Wrong is about trying to fit in but feeling like you’re just not fooling anyone. It uses the acting analogy, with the idea of playing to an audience, poorly. But this feeling of masking is so universal; this is just one angle. There are ideas of ADHD/Autism/neurodivergence and trying to sort of fake your way to being “normal”; there are nights with jokes and sets that just don’t land for the comedian.

There’s also the idea that we don’t let people see who we really are. Fear of allowing our faults to be seen is something we all feel.”

Addley releases the soulful summer single ‘Take Me Home’

0

Addley combines emotional lyrics with a five-piece band setup that brings together classic indie pop tendencies with smooth electronic design. Gracing the stages of his home town of Liverpool, as well as Leeds, Birmingham and London, Addley has grown an audience around a sound that takes influence from Florence + The Machine and London Grammar, balancing upbeat movement with alternative emotions.

The latest from the Liverpool up-and-comer is the new single ‘Take Me Home’ a track that blends a melancholic ballad with fast-paced drum breaks and soaring lead synth design, embracing that soulful summer feeling when the party is almost over. Addley’s vocal performance floats from note to note, staying gentle and swaying above the non-stop drums. The instrumentation is a beautiful blend of glimmering electronic design, sombre piano melodies and grooving bass lines, with more parts slowly rising into the chorus for emotive final moments as the track reaches its climax. Falling down to a simple piano arpeggio to lead out the listener, Addley laces you with a sense of poignance.

Addley shares, “‘Take Me Home’ is about the feeling you get at the end of the night when the lights turn on and people start separating into different groups with different plans and you’d do anything to prolong the night. It’s about dealing with loneliness and desire in an often unsuccessful and unhealthy way.”

Cliff & Susan Join Erin Enderlin for new rendition of Classic Country Hit, “Last Call”

0

Erin Enderlin, known for her poignant storytelling and emotive vocal delivery, teams up with the talented duo Cliff & Susan in their latest single, “Last Call.” Released on May 31, 2024, this collaboration brings a fresh perspective to the song originally recorded by Lee Ann Womack.

“Last Call” immediately grabs attention with its heartfelt lyrics and smooth instrumentation. Enderlin’s voice, rich with emotion and nuance, carries the weight of the narrative—a story of late-night regrets and unfulfilled promises. Her delivery is complemented beautifully by the harmonies and instrumental contributions of Cliff & Susan.

The production, handled by Cliff at Big Red Dog Productions, is crisp and polished, allowing each element of the song to shine. The interplay between the fiddle, bass guitar, and keys creates a lush, evocative backdrop for the vocals. The fiddle, in particular, adds a layer of melancholy that deepens the song’s emotional impact.

The lyrics paint a vivid picture of a familiar scenario—late-night calls fueled by loneliness and alcohol, a lover reaching out in a moment of weakness. The repeated imagery of “Johnny Walker Red” and the closing bar underscore the sense of a cycle that is hard to break. Enderlin’s interpretation is both relatable and heartbreaking, capturing the resignation and finality in the repeated refrain, “I bet you’re in a bar / ‘Cause I’m always your last call.”

Cliff & Susan‘s contributions are integral to the song’s success. Their harmonies add depth and texture, while Susan’s keys and Cliff’s multi-instrumental prowess bring a dynamic range to the track. The duo’s synergy with Enderlin is evident, making the collaboration feel seamless and natural.

Overall, “Last Call” is a compelling rendition that honors the original while bringing a new dimension to it. Erin Enderlin, along with Cliff & Susan, delivers a performance that is both heartfelt and haunting, making this single a standout in their respective discographies. Fans of classic country storytelling and modern musicality will find much to appreciate in this collaboration.
