More Love by Brooke Moriber

Brooke Moriber, the Broadway sensation and country singer songwriter extraordinaire released her latest single “More Love”…a powerful anthemic alt-rock song filled with emotions, positive vibes and a great message to humanity.

The New York based artist is sharing a message of love with the whole world with her latest song “More Love”…as the song title suggests, is a song for this moment – reminding us what we can do together if we just open our hearts. It’s an anthem that demands that we not only recognize how similar we all are but also that we can love each other for our differences…and if we-as humans-managed to live this way, we’d have a much better world to live in.

Brooke got her start at a young age professionally performing on Broadway, turning to songwriting as a teenager to cope with losing her eyesight to a rare eye disease. When the disease went into remission after a difficult four years, Brooke began traveling to Nashville to tell her stories, stories that made her the way she is today…stories of winning and losing, but above all, prevailing.

Praised for her “clarion voice”, as Associated press describes it, she went on to release her first single “Cry Like A Girl” independently in 2019 and later signed with Nashville’s Reviver Records.

“More Love” is the kind of song that needs to be performed live in a stadium, and a fully packed one at that…Brooke’s vocal performance is soaring high…and super infectious for all audiences to sing along…while the musical production is  extremely high quality, making way to Brooke to shine while the music also soars along and delivers an emotional story.

Luciano Mendonca releases his genre-fusing debut album ‘Sign in the Stars’

0

First emerging as the bass player of bands like Emmerson Nogueira Versao Acustica band in the early 2000s, Luciano Mendonca’s branching out towards solo music has led him far away from those early beginnings. Taking inspiration in each musician he comes across and the journey of life around him, he has a gift for turning the simplest things into sublime musical moments.

A highlight for his solo career so far, Luciano has now released his debut album ‘Sign In The Stars’. With moments of funk-fuelled joy and sprinklings of gritty rock aesthetics, Luciano ties up the vast extent of his genre influences. Some tracks pull audiences towards early 2000s rock nostalgia, others more towards the funk-fuelled soul and experimentalism, with a few additions of folk and indie-pop thrown in for good measure. Telling a self-reflective narrative across these genres, the story of progression and life’s little moments is what holds Luciano together, painting vivid musical tapestries.

Luciano explains, ”Each track in ‘Sign in the Stars’ is a deeply personal reflection, drawn from my own life experiences and emotions. I also have a unique ability to empathize with others’ feelings, allowing me to craft music that resonates with a wide range of emotions, even those I may not personally be experiencing.”

This purity of self-reflection pulls the listener into the music, capturing them in the dreamy guitars, acoustic rhythms and authentic vocal performances. Refreshing from start to finish, Twin Solitaire‘s story of love and heartbreak is something we can all relate to, his words making so easy to connect with his experiences, it almost feels as though the music isn’t really for us, it’s for the artist to find that part of himself once again.

The artist explains, ”The songs on Last of the Line dive into subject matter that I haven’t written about in the past – exploring questions about my own mortality, childhood friendships, and the big “what could have been?”. I liked the idea of contrasting the heavier, more introspective lyrics with upbeat arrangements and melodies that best highlight where I’m coming from as a musician, being primarily a guitar player and a singer.”

Oh Buddy! reveal new indie-pop single ‘Disappear’

0

Conor Kelly and Chase Bader are the pair behind indie-pop sensation Oh Buddy! Life-long creative partners that have already shown musical promise across their careers, the duo now come together, collaborating with Grammy-winning producer Nick Lobel to craft a fresh and contemporary sound used by brands like Grand Wagoneer and Amazon thanks to their partnership with sync agency Ghostwriter.

The latest single from Oh Buddy!, ‘Disappear’, is one of their most vibrant musical experiences left. A sunset of love-drenched soulful grooves, the band bring nostalgic, gently passionate vocals, glittering soundscapes and a joyous, simple approach to their lyricism. The easy-going nature of the track is so naturally infectious the track seems to engulf your spirit, transporting you to a seaside destination. Their indie-pop sound infuses perfectly with the music, the funky guitars and soaring synths bringing a contemporary pop feeling whilst the vocals and harmony ooze a glowing familiarity.

The duo shares, “Disappear is a song we started writing during the pandemic inspired by a long-distance relationship. The message became about overcoming the adversity of the distance and how you find little ways to stay in touch and grow a connection. The song has taken many forms over the years, but this is the one that feels the most complete and true to the original emotions of the song when we wrote it in 2020. We knew the idea was special, but it took some time for us to mature and grow as artists to bring it to its fullest potential.

It’s a song about escaping the stress of everyday life and cherishing those sweet, simple moments with someone you love. It’s a subtle, yet profound idea, and we wanted to create something that feels like a breath of fresh air, where you can let the world disappear and just be in the moment. These days, that can be a tall order, but we really hope ‘Disappear’ resonates with others the way it does with us.”

Vanishing of Bees (Lost Signal Remix) by KELE FLEMING

Curious and consuming, this new treatment of folk veteran Kele Fleming’s ‘Vanishing of Bees’ is terrific. Busting and brooding, Lost Signal and Kele Fleming are both seeking to spread awareness about those precious insects and their threatened existence through experimental and thought-provoking electronica.

Canadian folk singer and songwriter Kele Fleming is teaming up with EDM talent Matt Couchman, also known as Lost Signal, on World Bees Day to bring us the playfully ominous remix of ‘Vanishing of Bees’. A song that benefits from Fleming’s artful and rich lyricism, this remix is treated to incorporate Couchman’s distinct flair, marked by a steady, looming beat, and fuzzy electronic landscape.

The piece was written to raise awareness of the important role bees play in conserving the ecosystem, and in turn, the drastic imbalance that would occur if the threat to their numbers persists. But while Fleming’s original was an artful piece of anthemic art folk that utilizes her vocal quirkiness and adds it to an airy, expansive soundscape, it is Lost Cause’s approach that drives home the danger that faces the environment if the bees actually vanish. While Fleming’s original is hopeful but reprimanding, Couchman’s treatment is dark and threatening, exposing a whole new dimension to Fleming’s effort while creating a piece of electronica that easily stands on its two legs.

Lost Cause’s remix of ‘Vanishing of Bees’ is experimental and dense, but at the same time wholly consuming, immersive, and just impeccably well put together.

Never Gonna Let You Go by FALL OF PASSION

Mixing the past with the present and pop with the folk, Fall Of Passion’s debut is a colorful and fluent piece of music coupled with an evocative visualizer set in the British Regency era. Beautifully done, this is a debut that is guaranteed to cause a ripple and attract a quite varied listener base.

There is something quite charming about hearing a blazing lead guitar solo while looking at a pair of characters in Victorian-era clothing dancing in a neon-lit room. ‘Never Gonna Let You Go’ is a piece that set off with that fusion of past and present in mind. Debut single for the British act Fall Of Passion, a great effort has been spent by the London-based artist in creating a not-notch atmosphere for the visualizer that accompanies the song. Going to prestigious locations across the English countryside and featuring crisp editing and colorization, Fall Of Passion is not cutting any corners on its debut.

The song itself is also just as evocative as the video. The familiar chords are easy to follow, and the electric strums are bustling and tight, creating -together with the rapid beats- quite a forward-moving momentum. The effervescent vocal performance is charismatic and quite capable. Mildly acrobatic and touching. Perhaps the song’s most landmark-ish elements are the superb string arrangement, which shines particularly bright on the song’s anthemic chorus, and the awesome solo that defines the tail-end of the song. Brisk and electrifying, with a lush tone, it is an immediate joy to hear.

A wonderfully warm mix is the final piece of the puzzle, revealing an impactful, well-rounded, and distinctive debut for what seems to be a new chapter in chamber pop, blending cues from Taylor Swift’s immediacy and The Divine Comedy’s mystifying grandeur, with a very individual twist. ‘Never Gonna Let You Go’ might be one of the more exciting things happening in music currently.
