Polish pop phenomenon LUNA has been making global ripples over the past year representing her country in Eurovision 2024, alongside a string of fantastic singles in support of her upcoming sophomore record, last of which is today’s sensational ‘Wild West’.
LUNA is based in the Polish capital Warsaw, and she just knows how to put a pop tune together. With her ethereal vocals and breezy, airy delivery, her songs are always a joy to sit through. Easy to enjoy, LUNA is also a capable songwriter with an ear for melodies that stick. In that light, ‘Wild West’ is extremely fun.
This short pop stunner is commercial, radio-friendly, and with massive pop appeal, but just like always, LUNA’s songwriting is not being dumbed down. Quite the opposite in fact, LUNA’s ‘Wild West’ is punchy and groovy, with a terrific sub bass part that’s just inspired. The flow of the single is also simply brilliant with the aforementioned groove and bass parts working alongside the engaging vocal part with a prominent hook and an electrifying key change in the song’s last quarter.
LUNA has quickly grown to be one of Poland’s most important voices on the global pop stage, and with her array of artistic talents, not an ounce of her success is undeserved. With a quirky and fun video, delightfully shot and directed, and a tightly written and produced song, LUNA’s ‘Wild West’ is short, quick, and fast-paced pop fun.

The song dives deep into a moment of betrayal, narrated with gripping detail. Jagger’s voice brings the story to life, capturing that gut-wrenching realization that his girl may have been on a “mission.” Such an unforgettable night when he notices the clues: her messy hair, her open purse, and that sinking feeling in his chest. It’s a classic theme but spun with a fresh, modern edge, thanks to Austin’s production, which seamlessly shifts between intense and laid-back vibes, giving space for the story to resonate.
The massive reverbs on the intricate acoustic guitar part is contrasted by a claustrophobic and looming bass part that grounds the sound somewhere deep underground, fitting for such a dark composition that speaks of the themes of purgatory, and the place between life and afterlife. The harrowing theme is explored in the song’s brooding and eerie, descending riff, the charismatic vocals by Vian, and her bone chilling delivery of the song’s unforgettable chorus. Co-produced by Vincent and Vian, this homegrown song has a sound that’s rich and highly focused. Going for a sound that’s warm and intimate, yet with a composition that’s haunting, the duo manage to create a palpable sense of sweet tension akin to huddling around a campfire listening to ghost stories retold by an exorcist.
