Consent by SAPHRON

0

Saphron’s “Consent” is not just a bombastic song; it’s an empowering anthem that every woman on earth can relate to. She’s unapologetically portraying the essential matter of “Consent” through her boundary-pushing genre blend, powerful vocals, introspective storytelling, dynamic beats, and fiery collaboration with rapper Bekah.

A song may be crafted just for entertainment, and that will be acceptable, as after all, music is a part of the entertainment industry; however, some artists know how powerful and liberating art can be and how it can send a resonating message that can urge others to start a movement. “Consent” is definitely a meaningful type of music that’s made to be the voice of women and tell their narrative until they are ready to tell it themselves.

“Consent” kicks off strongly with an enticing intro that soon enough gets joined by Saphron’s dulcet and gritty vocals. She delivers each lyric with power and electricity, which instantly draws one in and makes the message deeply resonate. The lyricism tackles the important subject of consent in a thought-provoking manner and highlights the importance of drawing boundaries and respecting them. The infectious rhythm and vibrant beat with the edgy touch create a sultry atmosphere that matches the impassionate performance and crucial message.

The song starts with a bang, yet it keeps getting better as it progresses, adding more gasoline to the fire. The emerging rapper Bekah makes a lusty entrance with smooth rapping, offering bolder energy and adding more intensity to the output, which enhances the message.

Overall, “Consent” is structured to be musically flawless with the two impeccable forces of talent, Saphron, and Bekah; nevertheless, with their musical prowess seamlessly grabbing attention, they manage to promote the culture of consent and the notion of setting boundaries and how it’s a vital right for everyone out there.

RUNNING AWAY by CLOUD VINCENT

0

Cloud Vincent‘s “Running Away” is an exhilarating and danceable track that ignites the senses with its electrifying fusion and ardent vocals. With its infectious energy, it will be a great addition to your mood-boosting playlist.

“Running Away” marks the London-based skilled artist Cloud Vincent’s fifth release. The overall feel of the song is like cool waves carrying one’s body and spirit softly, offering a liberating sense. From start to finish, the song bursts with pulsating beats that urge one to let loose for a bit. The theme is about an uncertain, playful relationship, which Cloud Vincent conveys nicely with his charismatic vocal delivery and the smooth transitions that match the rhythms’ pace. The funky bassline along with the spirited drumming create a groovy sonic landscape and give Cloud Vincent the space to flex his incredible vocal prowess.

The arrangement is structured to sound sophisticated and showcases Cloud Vincent’s musicianship and his paying attention to every tiny detail, while at the same time giving off a breezy vibe, making the song irresectable.

Scopolamine by CLARE EASDOWN

0

Clare Easdown’s latest release, “Scopolamine,” conveys love, longing, and pain through graceful melodies and soulful vocals, which offer a feel of disease and cure together. You get to experience the depths of a shattered heart while being soothed and solaced.

“Scopolamine” is both foggy and dreamy. It’s a mix of pain and peace presented by the haunting vocals of the talented Australian artist Clare Easdown and her raw self-production. Clare’s silky vocal line is the focal point of the song. She offers an emotional performance that carries the pain and longing in every lyric.

Easdown’s description of the song is melancholic and heartfelt, yet she managed to deliver her heartbreaking storyline delicately and smoothly, making the song sound like a tranquil lullaby that you’d want to play to calm yourself, and that’s such a brilliant balance.

“Scopolamine” is a love song gone wrong, with a brutal, painful longing rippling throughout its core. It is open heart surgery, expressing the notion that love is deeper than an abyss and can be as painful as falling into one too.” Stated Clare Easdown.

“I’m brutally brutally in love with you” will keep resonating in your head, giving chills to your heart. It’s just not possible to resist her wistful angelic tone along with the blue waves of mellow melody. The atmospheric guitar riffs and gentle drumming create a charming soundscape that backs up the vocals as desired. It’s a raw, charming harmony between the vocals and the instrumentation.

Not only are the song’s elements splendid and portray the theme but also the title itself. “Scopolamine” in the anticholinergic class of drugs, and Clare wrote and sang the lyric “You’re my drug of choice.” She clearly didn’t leave a single detail behind.

This is a song that conveys ache through lighthearted Indie/dream-pop fusion and ethereal vocals, so it’s the drug dose of melancholy that you’ll get addicted to.

Tears Run Rings by THE HEROIC ENTHUSIASTS

0

Underappreciated overachiever duo The Heroic Enthusiasts return with an anthemic bit of power balladry with a sound that’s nostalgic for the synths-run 80s… and with a mix done by an industry legend and performances carried out by a pair of consummate professionals, ‘Tears Run Rings’ is a delightfully fresh and exciting take on a classic that has seen us have it on repeat for longer than a healthy amount of time.

Rochester, New York-based duo The Heroic Enthusiasts is composed of vocalist James Tabbi, whose caramel sweet delivery carries the same gravitas and effeminate passion as a-ha’s Morten Harket -Tabbi’s contemporary-, and guitarist Thomas Ferrara whose spacey, rhythmic leads give this cover its fresh and modern makeover, essentially setting it apart from the beloved Marc Almond classic.

The duo also managed to get legendary producer Stephen Hague on their team for this release. With an illustrious resume that features names such as New Order, Peter Gabriel, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Pet Shop Boys, Hague’s experience and abilities are so prominent to even begin to explain. Indeed, what he brings to the table on this cover release is a flair of effortlessness courtesy of a steady, balanced beat, and a modest take on the sounds of guitars and synths, giving the song a similar, pumping feel to that of the 80s classic, but injecting it with enough panache and modernity to make it an unquestionable effort of The Heroic Enthusiasts. An unquestionable release of 2023 with all the roots extending gracefully and visibly back to the punk-dominated 80s.

The Heroic Enthusiasts are definitely up there in the list of other super-talented acts that many of us are yet to get acquainted with. Their cover of ‘Tears Run Rings’ is a valuable addition to the life of that classic Marc Almond song, and is equally so for the duo’s growing catalogue of terrifically executed releases.

Album: Dirty Blonde by SAGE SUEDE

0

The Austin-based American singer/songwriter Sage Suede conjures yet another explosive and boundary-pushing album…Sage’s latest album “Dirty Blonde” is out…and it’s an experience like nothing else.

Choosing the hip-hop realm to release the musical energy that runs deep within, Sage Suede is not afraid to do…anything!

One of the most confident and brave artists out there…there is no musical experience that is out of the question for Sage…no pain, no gain…and Sage is ready to push any boundary to find his next hit…and with Sage’s latest album “Dirty Blonde”, he’s at it once again.

“Dirty Blonde” is a very diverse 13-track album that not only houses many moods and emotions, but experiments thoroughly with sounds, grooves, and melodies and keeps mixing it up.

Speaking of both experimentation and exploration…with a song like “Palm Trees And Scotch”, Sage puts on some vocals effects that you wouldn’t naturally find in a song, maybe used as sound design in a movie…but he utilizes these heavy vocals effect and puts it on one of the many vocal lines that create a very trippy and enthralling choir.

…then, he kicks it up in energy with a song like “The Best Revenge”, this has a unique explosive musical energy to it…the beat is tough, relentless, in your face kick and snare…vocals are subtle, and once again with a trippy choir approach…the soul of the song is the aggressive synth arpeggio that goes through the whole track…it’s a beast of a synth sound…also, it’s kind of dark, ominous and edgy…and that’s not hip-hop, Sage goes out of his way to explore areas outside of hip-hop too.

…and with the unique ethnic intro to “Work From Hoe”, with its unique tablas…the song kicks you in the face and changes everything you are expecting…however, this one has a strong hip-hop presence through the strong beats it rocks.

“Dirty Blonde” keeps surprising us with each song that starts to play…one after another and we keep picking our mouths off the floor…Sage maintains one thing very clearly…and that is diversity.

Sage has the ability to flow through the vocals whatever the beat or melody…Sage is a flow machine, a lyrical tsunami…nothing stops the wave.

…you’ll find some rock/hip-hop fusion in there with “Weaponize Dem Thighs”, huge-sounding guitars…

Technically, the album has 12 songs, with one remix, that’s the 13th song…this song that appears twice here is “Corn Chip Thot”.

It appears twice, once by itself and the second time is with the Jyme Remix.

This changes the first hip-hop approach into an electronic dance song that can play in any club till the morning and keep the people moving.

Wishing Sage all the best, we’ll look forward to seeing what he comes up with next.

Cheers!

FREEDOM by NATALIE CLARK

0

Natalie Clark’s latest single “Freedom” is a pop/rock, upbeat, and bright musical experience that feels like the sun is starting to shine and a new, awesome day is about to start.

Based in LA, the city of angels, the city of art and music, there Natalie releases “Freedom”.

Natalie’s smooth and bright vocals play along with a very cool, pop/rock music that feels like touching on gospel territory…with organs, huge choirs, and thunderous claps.

“Freedom” does make you feel like you’re breaking free…emotionally.

The music is strong, the drums are huge sounding, pianos are also epic with some kind of filter/bit crushing effect that gives it so much character.

The shakers… do play a central role in keeping the audience moving their bodies…

…musically, “Freedom” is a very upbeat song but not in the normal sense…it’s not fast, but it has moving parts that make it upbeat…shakers, drums, vocal choir, and harmonies…a lot of moving parts play extremely well together to create a huge sounding musical experience…

It feels like you’re attending a musical on Broadway that is a very, very cool-sounding fuse of pop and rock.

Natalie’s vocals are epic…flying from genre to genre…from pop to gospel to rock with all the nuances of each genre, Natalie is a force to be reckoned with and an absolute vocal icon.

With Natalie all the best and can’t wait to see what comes next for the amazing artist.

Cheers!

Keep your head up by Tilla

0

Hamburg based German artist Tilla, a chameleon musician that not only has a multicolored and multi-dimensional musical presence, he also fuses all colors of the spectrum to create new musical colors…his latest psychedelic single “Keep Your Head Up (I’m A Mermaid)” is out and ready to be consumed artistically…top not flavor.

Finding and crafting his own voice and musical presence, Tilla has a very unique presence…with the distorted and ambient vocals mixed with groovy beats and trippy melodic music structure, Tilla has a unique artistic fingerprint that reflects his identity…and one which you can not find anywhere else…a trippy, melodic, groovy musical journey.

“Keep Your Head Up” is a treasure chest of all that defines Tilla…the ambient vocals…the groovy beats and also the groovy synths, both add to the movement and flow of the song…then add some mesmerizing soundbeds that filled every little nook and cranny of our ears and souls.

The bass line adds a lot to the groove of the song…which is also has a very trippy premise, it speaks to the universal struggle of breaking free from the chains of the past….add on top of it all that groove and pulsating exhilaration and you got yourself an explosive entry in the music world.

A very ‘alive’ song for sure…”Keep Your Head Up” is a must listen, not for trippy, entrancing or groovy music fans…but to anyone who likes great melodies and a mood-setting kind of songs…this is it.

Wishing Tilla all the best and can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.

We’ll be on the lookout…

Cheers!

Ride by J Lym

0

There is something inexplicably addictive about J Lym’s latest single ‘Ride’. A certain eccentric, fragmented, loosely intact and in immediate danger of crumbling. Like a glued together monstrosity with a particular gravity and attitude that left me thirsty for more after its little more than two minutes runtime was done.

Brooklyn based experimental musician and producer J Lym is back after a yearlong hiatus since his latest EP release ‘How To Say Goodbye To Memories’. Returning with what seems like a million tiny samples from the bustling Jakarta soundscape, ‘Ride’ is a tiny but massive piece of hip hop that sees real life clacks, bangs, screeches, and scrapes blend with a beefy, acidic synth bass line for a potent dose of character. J Lym’s boldly out-there vocals and humorous choice of ragtime piano samples do a terrific job in heightening just how blindingly weird this cut is.

Saying that ‘Ride’ is a good song would be kind of a lame understatement as well as an objectively incorrect choice of words. Instead, we’ll say that ‘Ride’ piqued our curiosity and left us with a healthy amount of tasty, unanswered questions. Thanks J Lym.

Lone Wolf by Sofia Evangelina

0

Sofia Evangelina’s latest single, titled ‘Lone Wolf’, is a grandiose ballad with a scintillating hint of secret agent drama with inspiring lyrics and an ultra-crisp vocal performance.

Canadian native Sofia Evangelina is a singer and a songwriter who specializes in a brand of pristine modern pop that comes with neat production, snappy trap beats, a clean and balanced mix of electronic instruments with the occasional droplets of piano or waves of strings, and ‘Lone Wolf’ fits into this puzzle like a glove.

The artist’s latest release is a haunting pop ballad laced with melancholy that easily fits into the song’s theme of loneliness and wariness of betrayal, leading one on a lonely path to success. The composition, rich with vivid chords loaded with drama (yes, I’m talking about that augmented chord), is compellingly trippy, a far cry from the cliche progressions dotting the pop landscape yet daring enough to stand out and be remembered. The crunchy production job fits the genre beautifully and is masterfully restrained -a difficult trick to pull without over-producing the song-, and the mix is generally minimal in flavor.

With the inspiring and somewhat relatable lyrics, and the powerful, passionate delivery from Evangelina, ‘Lone Wolf’, written by Evangelina and European producer Jovan Jovanov, comes across as a mature pop offering that will have no trouble whatsoever seeing its way through to streaming playlists. Another banger from Sofia Evangelina.

Sin Rumbo by PAULINA

0

Puerto Rico…a soulful place of music and melodies…gives birth to an amazing musical and lyrical experience through the country’s own artist Paulina…”Sin Rumbo” is the latest single from Paulina…this is peak melodic levels of experience.

This is Paulina’s second single…and she’s making huge waves in the music world already…through her singing and songwriting, she was able to captivate audiences with her first single “Dejarlo ir”…and yet again, it’s not a surprise that Paulina would release another soulful hit that will entrance all audiences…and that, it was.

“Sin Rumbo” is a…you could call it pop because it can touch almost any music listener in the world…but it has so much more depth than just a pop song.

It has some substantial presence of indie rock soul in it…mixed with the pop essence that Paulina carries, this fusion between both directions creates a very hard-to-define musical experience, from a genre point of view, but something very easy to notice…is that “Sin rumbo” is an amazing musical and melodic experience that will keep stuck in your head…

From the very first second…the subdued group vocals open up gradually…and the filtered drums… haunt you from the very first second…

…then the piano kicks in, opening up the space…and of course, Paulina’s vocals…smooth, subtle, super melodic, and super-rich too…

The vocals here are mountainous…huge, wide and when you listen to it, you’re in awe…mesmerizing…you will most likely lose track of time like we did when we were listening to it.

…and there’s also something that surprised me, the guitar solo in the middle…it’s very uniquely presented…as if it were two guitars that started playing in each ear…it’s the best kind of shocking!

Paulina makes an excellent second entry in her musical presence with “Sin rumbo”, it’s a highly recommended listen, this is simply enchanting.

Wishing Paulina all the best in life…she deserves it and a lot more.

Can’t wait to see what’s next for the amazing artist.

Cheers!
