Connexus by ONVN

0

Each artist is given the freedom to express themselves via music in a way that showcases their skills, originality, personalities, and sincere sentiments. That’s why ONVN chose to express his affection through his own epic soundscape in “Connexus.”

German artist ONVN creates enticing realms with the use of electronic music, particularly Deep House and Techno. His most recent song, “Connexus,” shows how Hans Zimmer, NTO, and Johann Pastor have influenced him. It holds the dramatic touch that’s always there in Zimmer soundtracks, yet it has upbeat electronic elements that blend well with the phenomenal atmosphere.

“Connexus” means “connected” in Latin, and one of the best ways to convey genuine connection is through an emotive musical piece. The sensational song is meant to be a gift for ONVN’s girlfriend, who’s also into electronic music. This is the reason why it’s released on Valentine’s Day, and this is also why it’s composed of soul-stirring elements that head together to the depths of sensibility.

The song starts dynamically with beats and claps, which give the impression that it’s going to be a peppy, danceable number. However, it soon proves that it carries more than that and digs deep to reach more vulnerable emotions than joy. The strings, along with the synth, play the key role in offering the melodic, profound part of the track, which urges one to shed a tear while they’re swaying.

The focus is on the instrumental component, where the melodies and rhythms connect with the listener on a substantial level. Nevertheless, the few lyrical lines and resonating vocal performance enhance the intimate mood and soulfully illustrate how it feels to be falling in love.

It took me a while to decide how I felt about this production because I hadn’t heard many tracks like it before. Nevertheless, that’s the same point that made me realize that ONVN is an exceptional songwriter and producer. He undoubtedly has his own way of making sophisticated music that can be both elating and poignant.

Enjoy the dreamy journey and dedicate the track to your Valentine!

Tara Van Shared Her “Back In Love”

0
After a brutal break-up, Tara Van wrote “Back In Love” as a self-soothing anthem, as her ode to the hopefulness of rooting again.
Tara sees it as love isn’t something we find, it is something we are. It is an act of creation. It is daily work. The greatest romance story is the process of showing up for ourselves even when others are absent.
She explains: “In this song, I explore the challenges of being ‘too much’ while coming to the understanding that perhaps the plot was just too small to hold me. We all need to be unearthed and transplanted from time to time to continue growing.”
“To all of you brave passionate people out there – being ‘too much’ is abundance!” – she continued.

Silent Moon by Angelina Luzi

0

Angelina Luzi’s latest single, Silent Moon, is a journey. Passing through different phases and shapes, all the while under the guidance of Luzi’s masterful vocal performance, resulting in a stellar single that’s memorable, powerful, poetic, and effective.

Italian/English Angelina Luzi is a singer/songwriter based in London. The powers that she displays in her latest single makes her a worthy contestant in the ever-bustling scene of progressive rock/pop. Approaching this song I anticipated a radio-friendly pop tune with catchy hooks and jangly melodies, but I was pleasantly surprised with rich vocal harmonies, and melodic chord progressions that sound spacey and dark. I was also surprised by the dense lyrical themes dealing with the loss of direction, and I was most surprised by Angelina’s vocal abilities. A singer of the highest caliber, Angelina’s control is sublime, her range is massive and expertly utilized, and her delivery is heartfelt and soulful, and with a production job that helps put every element exactly where it belongs, the vocals sit delightfully in the forefront of this rich and succulent mix.

With a buzzing bassy synth, the forward driving 6/8 time signature, and the roomy sounding drums, intelligently played with punch, taste, and restraint, we are left with a song that’s far more deep and demanding than most other pop tunes. Indeed, Silent Moon is grand, rich, and full of drama and talent.

Angelina Luzi’s latest single is a demanding listen in the most pleasant and fulfilling of ways. This is not a song fit for use as background music, this is a piece of music that grabs the attention and finds no difficulty in keeping it. It’s a deep listen with meaning and a message, and a voice that will leave you hungry for more.

This Is Where My Heart Belongs by Mick J. Clark

0

Mick J. Clark cares to share with us significant seasons and occasions in his own way. Earlier, he amazed us with his Christmas trilogy, and now he’s offering us Valentine’s gift, his single, “This Is Where My Heart Belongs.”

I heard and reviewed two singles from the 63-disc catalog, and my teammates covered more of his singles too, and I know for a fact that we can all agree how a witty singer and songwriter he is and how he naturally puts his heart and soul into his music, making it organic and authentic.

“This Is Where My Heart Belongs” is the song you need to choose without hesitation to dance to its rhythms with your beloved one. All of the elements of the song are atmospheric and easily build an affectionate, serene mood. With its dreamy melodies and Mick J. Clark’s sentimental, charming vocals, it sets an ethereal ambiance that is subtle enough for lovers.

Tuneful chords open the song, along with Mick J. Clark’s tender vocal line. The instrumentation, with a Latin flair, creates a romantic scene and well supports the vocals to deliver a slew of emotions straight to the heart. It’s tinged with a nostalgic, classic sound that helps present a timeless effect, with the execution sounding fresh.

The track’s lyrics and how they come to life through the soulful performance and the devotional composition are ideal, with a sunset on the peach and a slow dance with both hearts close enough to beat as one. Mick J. Clark indeed doesn’t miss a single detail to bring each event to perfection! He uses his spark to make the moment magical and fill the listener’s soul with warmth.

The artist is an expert at using his skills and experience to produce polished pieces that sound sophisticated, offer a feel-good vibe, build a connection with listeners, and yet remain smooth and straightforward. “This Is Where My Heart Belongs” below is a solid testament to my words and the rest of the disc too. I recommend you listen to it all and be immersed in its aesthetics.

Fall For U by Luke Targett

0

We can all agree that life may be hard and stressful, but we can also all admit that having a partner makes life a lot easier, or at the very least makes challenging times more bearable. In his first 2023 hit, “Fall For U,” Luke Targett depicted the life transition that takes place when one falls in love.

Luke Targett is an independent artist, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist who has wings made of his ambition, gifts, and skills to soar to the highest skies of the pop genre.

“Fall For You” is an atmospheric song that will effortlessly put you in an affectionate mood, even if you’re single at the moment. If you’re not, then it’s a good way to let the one you love know how much influence they have over your life.

Euphoric melody, infectious arrangement, soulful vocals, ardent performance, compelling sing-along chorus, and upbeat execution are all in “For Fall U” to make you fall for Luke Targett’s spell, feeling the same excitement as you do when you see your beloved one. The composition has both nostalgic and stylistic flairs that leave no choice for any pop fan but to love it. The synth, guitar, and drums are all competing with the vocals to see who sounds more madly in love.

The entire song is structured to get the listener to groove. As a music producer, Targett knows how to highlight each component and make them all share the same bombastic energy and deliver it to listeners, making them engage with the ecstatic sonic landscape and the warm yet elated theme. To enjoy the mood-boosting I’m hinting at, just hit the play button!

EP: Wild Bo… by Major Kami/SJ Hawley

0

Major Kami releases yet again some really mesmerizing original songs and a Bowie cover, all an ode to the ultimate fascination for David Bowie. The electro-pop EP in the name of ‘Wild Bo’ will drop on the 3rd of February, all the way from Bordeaux, France. There is just so much thought put into the creation of music that will have made Bowie dance in his grave from how magically wonderful the pieces are. Just like Bowie, they are intense, out of this world, lyrically competitive, and really give the Bowie vibe in a modern, electro twist and Kami’s beautiful, and definitely powerful voice.

Before anything, it must be established that this is a high-quality production. The musical arrangement, sound, and style, it’s all a beautiful reincarnation of David Bowie in a pink and passionate female voice. All the songs are medium paces and sometimes transition to slow, really making you feel every inch of the song. This EP is gold and diamonds to the ears. Dynamic and encompassing lots of drama and flair, the songs are also extremely emotional, which ripples into your soul.

The overall sound of the EP is like riding a colorful unicorn in a golden sky. It’s magical, peaceful, emotive, and exotic. You will be left with a feeling of empty happiness and hope. You will not hear something like anywhere else because Major kami has a special sonic vision. Also, nothing is as fresh as music inspired by phenomenal artists. While the song Modern Love is a cover, it is a new way of recreating, and no one would’ve pulled it off so well as Kami. With a beautiful, quiet soundscape, there is soft piano, echoing sounds, magical and intense sound effects, drums followed by clapping, and a beautiful saxophone solo. The songs feel synthy, and have ethereal soundscapes, with the musical arrangements full of soft piano and xylophone, hardcore basslines that move the beat and give it a darker soul, violin, and subtle use of drums but still giving intensity without overwhelming the listeners. Major Kami’s voice is so soothing and just pierces through your soul in a strange way. Give this Ep a listen for a different experience of Bowie’s vibes.

Kalila Badali Shares “Panacea,” New Alt-Folk Single Reflecting on an Emotionally Dependent Friendship

0

Toronto-based songwriter and psychotherapist, Kalila Badali, is sharing a new single from her upcoming project, Panacea. The dreamy and melodic folk of the lead single is an expression of the deep desire which Kalila felt to “help and fix” a good friend of hers who was suffering from mental illness.

Unconsciously, I’ve attached myself to you. Rhizomal, with roots instead of a body.

“Sometimes love makes you lose track of where you begin and another person ends. It can feel really good in a way, deeply connected and supportive, but ultimately it’s not great to lose boundaries. That can lead to all sorts of resentments and confusion,” explains Badali.

Even though it felt like the friendship may have been lost at the time of writing “Panacea,” Badali is grateful to still have this person in her life, just the way they are.

We Know It’s True by Mick J. Clark

0

Once more, Mick J. Clark graces our platform with a new single release “We Know It’s True.” Like always, the renowned artist never fails to impress with his smooth style, well-curated tunes, and simple melodies that undoubtedly get stuck in your head. It starts with soft guitar tunes accompanied by piano chords that pave the way for Mick’s comforting voice to slide in. It’s not a typical relationship or love song as you’d anticipate; it’s a song with a powerful and beautiful message; it’s about our planet and how humans have been misusing and abusing it over the generations.

The artist says how it’s too late to turn back and change the damage caused. He’s regretful of all the actions taken by humans, yet he tries to send a positive message of awareness and asks the people to unite and try harder to leave our home (earth) as beautiful for future generations.

The song was initially inspired by a quote that Mick read once on one of the machines he was working on; “Please leave this machine how you would like to find it”. This a beautiful quote that caught the artist’s attention and stayed with him.

Since Mick is not new to high streaming numbers and views, “You Know It’s True” is accompanied by a music video with a slide show of images conveying the message beautifully.

CHANCE by Onbar

0

Life without love is unbearable, right? Although relationships are like a rollercoaster, we love, we get hurt, and just when we decide not to try again, someone appears and makes us think we should give them a “chance.” Onbar follows up his summer single “GOOD” with the dulcet “CHANCE,” which conveys being ready to fall in love again through its soul rhythm.

Troy Tuan Truong, AKA Onbar, is a gifted singer/songwriter from San Jose. He crafted his latest single, “CHANCE” which is set to be released right before Valentine’s Day with Orion Song as co-vocalist and writer and Patrick Hizon as a producer and writer.

“CHANCE” has such atmospheric components that set a serene, affectionate mood. The RnB/Soul single was dazzling and ready to go after only two days of work. This trio has notable chemistry, and their skills blend well together to produce a coherent piece.

The song starts with a mellow intro, and it maintains a peaceful ambiance throughout. Onbar’s vocals are dreamy and tuneful, and his soulful performance makes every lyric sincere and urges one to build their own scenario of falling in love. Orion Song sings in the second verse, and he adds more intimacy with his warm vocals.

The easygoing synth and slightly pulsating beats back the vocal line smoothly, giving it the space it needs to shine. The entire musical composition is delicately composed to fit the feeling of light butterflies when the heart begins to flutter for someone. It lures one into a slow dance where Onbar’s voice tells you how to move and the melody helps you sway freely.

Onbar is a truly promising musician who plays it fair and square. He doesn’t exaggerate; he doesn’t settle for tacky love songs; instead, he effortlessly lets his silky vocals and passionate writing steal the show and stir the hearts.
