Lost In You by Alex Kate

0

Alex Kate returns with another stunning pop love song that’s dreamy, airy, sensual, and poetic.

After the success of her last single, ‘One Plus One’, Kate is back with ‘Lost In You’. Inspired by a murder documentary that Alex watched one evening and then directly started working on this piece, the song is a delicate and airy love story that’s got absolutely nothing to do with murders. The vast space in this song has the massive reverb on the keyboards to thank. Alex Kate’s vocal delivery is as delicate and as confident as ever, with impressive control and a masterful performance overall. The driving rhythms and the throbbing bass give the song an adventurous yet comfortable and reassuring feeling, exactly like a road trip in a cabriolet with a lover. The words compliment that perfectly, beautiful and heartfelt, proving that very little hits like a love song does.

Lost In You maintains Alex Kate’s streak of heartwarming, pop love songs. Beautifully sung, written, and arranged, there’s very little to complain about. If you’re okay with beautiful pop tunes singing about a beautiful love story in a beautiful way, you’ll love this song.

It was all a lie by Leanna Oki

0

Just like every natural disaster leaves us with catastrophic results to handle, so ending a relationship does. It could get messy, lonely, and aching. Leanna Oki knew how to soulfully capture the aftermath of a relationship in her single that was recently released on September 30th, “It was all a lie.”

Leanna Oki is a Canadian artist who has been making music for seven years now. She sings, writes, composes, and records all her original work on her own. These years of experience were enough to build her distinct musical identity and sound. This is as “It was all a lie” sets an example for a pop ballad with atmospheric R&B flair and electronic elements to spice things up a little.

Some melodic chords open “It was all a lie,” setting the mood for a blue, poignant performance. Once Leanna Oki’s vocals mark the start of the story, it gets hard to know what to feel as she has this soothing, velvet voice, yet there’s a melancholic, heart-breaking tone wrapping it up. Her vocal delivery has no flaws! She varies with the musical styles and lyrics’ mixed emotions, offering both a vulnerable and powerful performance. I could spend all day listening to this ethereal voice and top-notch execution harmonizing with the instrumentation.

All of the elements combine to provoke that time of your life when you felt at your lowest. It doesn’t have to be a romantic relationship; you’ll just relate one way or another. The sincerity and vulnerability make you feel it all anyway and know for sure that it is a hard personal experience that has been set free through music.

The song is all about bad feelings; being lost, feeling lonely, feeling hollow, and not knowing what to do or where to go. However, I truly enjoyed listening to it countless times, till I started to sing along and vibe with the melody. Apparently, Leanna Oki has her own way of making one connect with her emotionally and musically. Hit the play button and see for yourself.

Soul Steady Rock by Neepz

Music can be a sincere companion when you’re feeling at your lowest, as you can find what fits your mood and speaks through you, making you feel understood and less lonely. But why not look for something that would lift your spirits instead? It doesn’t have to be dark both inside and outside. Neepz’s “Soul Steady Rock” is an upbeat anthem that’s made with love to boost your soul.

Traveled all the way from LA to his hometown in Trinidad & Tobago to make the soulful, bursting-with-life hit, in collaboration with Kabasi. That’s how much Neepz cares about the music and message he offers us. Kabasi is a popular artist back there, and after listening to the song for one time, I can see why! Although he’s currently battling stage-4 cancer, he was able to sing delightfully, “Free up your mind and free up your soul. And let the music take control~”

“Soul Steady Rock” is the single’s title, the single’s sound, and the single’s feel. For almost four minutes, you’ll be on cloud nine with your soul soaring lightly with no worries, fears, or sorrows, only good vibes. The Reggae style with the positive atmosphere in all of the elements takes you straight to the Caribbean, feeling the music in your core like a calming wave moving you slowly, and the duet vocal delivery gives the warm feel of the sun, dazzling on the surface.

Neepz and Kabasi have obvious chemistry coming from believing in the same message and owning dandy talents. Having both raspy, merry vocals and airy, soulful vocals made for such a balance and ear-double-bliss. The way they both flow seamlessly with the rhythm makes you compelled to sway along and groove carelessly.

I could go on and on about how spectacular and mind-calming this track is. But you won’t believe that “Love is all we got to give. Life is all we got to live. That’s the human consciousness. Feel it down in your soul and let it flow~” Unless you heart it yourself through the catchy, contiguous, “Soul Steady Rock.”

Maybe by Nick Cody And The Heartache

No one is always sure about everything. From the big existential questions to dealing with every emotion we have and every action based on it, we tend to ponder and set possibilities. When it comes to Nick Cody And The Heartache’s “Maybe,” I know for sure that it has nailed encapsulating the uncertainty we experience.

“Maybe” is the Bradford-based artist Nick Cody’s fresh release featuring Towse, the alter ego of the singer/songwriter Grace Fellows. It’s a melancholic Folk ballad that somehow gives a good vibe. The serene ambiance, the Folk meeting Soft Rock with ease, the melodic vocals, and the soulful emotions all have a blue aura, yet somehow the song has a heartwarming effect.

Mellow, soothing guitar chords introduce “Maybe.” Soon, Nick Cody’s velvety, warm vocals enter and are joined by Towse and her passionate delivery that feels like a whisper from the horizon. Each element takes its space as the song progresses, with nothing outshining the other. Each is exquisite on its own, and together they offer this atmospheric, relatable piece.

The instrumentation gives a cozy sense with the mesmerizing bass lines and the light-hearted piano notes. It’s a meditative session to listen to the melody blending with the vocals in harmony. The duet gives a sincere performance with amazing chemistry between their voices flying in the air. You can feel the raw emotions in their vocals, poetically conveying each line.

Closing as gently as it started, with a poignant guitar solo accompanied by delicate piano notes in the back. To leave you with the truth wrapped up in a giant hug.

Karen Harding, an acoustic artist hailing from Melbourne, Australia, is releasing the final single from her debut “I’ve got a secret” on the 7th of October. She’s been teasing fans by releasing one single every month till the final release of her EP, which will conclude with the song “Letter to my friend” which talks about Harding’s struggles to be there for her friends during the Covid19 pandemic.

At first, I fell in love with her guitar playing; the acoustic guitar was simple, yet it was touching and powerful. Alongside Harding’s enchanting voice, I couldn’t help but fall in love with this single and the artist. Her lyrics were heartbreaking and really captured the tragedy felt during the pandemic that struck the entire world, and how helpless we all were. In addition, her cover art is cute and simple, featuring Harding on her guitar.

All in all, no wonder she was one of the top 10 winners of the world songwriting awards; her lyrics, her instrumentals, and the whole vibe were a treat. Once the EP concludes getting out, there’s no knowing what’s in store for Harding with this debut maybe being her road to stardom.

Days, Weeks, Months & Years by Blake Cateris

After playing a wide range of genres in various bands and being mainly recognized as the frontman of punk rockers Molly & The Krells, vocalist/songwriter Blake Cateris decided to open up and show a different side of himself on his acoustic solo project. After dropping two successful singles, Cateris will be releasing his new single  “Days, Weeks, Months & Years” on the 7th of October, 2022, a lyrically and musically strong from-the-heart song that he described as ““This song is about living out of balance with yourself. Watching the world go by feeling like you might be losing touch with far more important things in life than what you’re focusing on right now.” So let’s dig deeper into it!

With some dreamy mellow chords “Days, Weeks, Months & Years” starts. Blake Cateris’s vocals come in with a strong powerful melody that yet projects lots of emotions especially as you track its progression throughout the song. I loved how Cateris carefully used his writing and musical skills, the verse was tailored to give the vocal melody full command with a subtle acoustic folky melody that made it shine even more. Getting into the bridge and chorus, more melodies are introduced using keyboards, electric guitars, and vocal harmonies with each one of them adding an extra layer to the music and a twist in the song’s flow.

“Days, Weeks, Months & Years” is one heartfelt tune by Blake Cateris, it says a lot about his character and musical approach. Blake Cateris’s escalating persistent vocals are accompanied by well-written and arranged melodies all within a solid structure that’ll keep you emotionally hooked throughout the whole song. Looking forward to more from Blake Cateris, wishing you the best of luck, cheers!

Living My Fantasy by Poptoken

0

We live in a world where reality and outer circumstances keep drowning us every time, we try swimming toward our dreams. Poptoken, with his optimistic wave, “Living My Fantasy,” gives us a fun-sounding lesson on dealing with obstacles.

The New York-based emerging artist, Poptoken, who has both Russian and Ukrainian roots, certainly believes that when life gives you a bitter lemon, you should turn it into fresh juice. In his single, “Living My Fantasy,” he’s delivering us the notion he came up with-as the war between Russia and Ukraine is affecting his life-that a little delusion won’t hurt anyone.

“Living My Fantasy” is the type of song that will add salt to your wounds, but it won’t make you scream, rather than dance freely. It’s a vibrant anthem that rebels against any current political, social, or environmental situation with the free-will choice of seeing things in a positive, even fantasized, manner and living accordingly.

The single’s sound is no different from its lyrical theme. It breaks the typical boundaries of pop and goes wildly. Poptoken has his style and a distinct way to make all of the elements align and deliver the same vibe. The bouncy drumming, bullish synths, and autotuned perky, sarcastic-toned vocals all work in unison to get you off your feet and out of the realistic box.

Dazzlingly, the track sounds both structured proficiently with precise attention to each detail and somehow, built out of a freestyle, allowing Poptoken’s imagination to unleash its vision, artistic mind to show off its prowess, and passionate heart to burst with optimism.

It only takes being an electronic pop fan and a dreamer to enjoy “Living My Fantasy” below.

The Twist to the Glitch by DeEtta Jain

There are some kinds of art that leave you puzzled for a while. You don’t develop a certain feeling towards it, you just know for sure that you’re facing an out-of-the-box artistic identity. DeEtta Jain is a creative artist who will dazzle you with her extraordinary piece “The Twist to the Glitch,” which depicts an unusual feeling.

Have you ever felt like you don’t belong? Like you’re some sort of glitch that needs to be fixed or erased? You’re certainly not the only one whose mind came across these thoughts. The multi-talented DeEtta Jain, hailing from Denver, knows what this feels like and expresses it sincerely in her own unique way in her latest single, which is fittingly titled, “The Twist to the Glitch” and with no doubt fittingly visualized.

“The Twist to the Glitch” is a piece of peculiar art that you won’t encounter much. DeEtta Jain has undoubtedly put in a magnificent effort and created a superb team to achieve the visuals she had in mind of a human glitch who eventually makes peace with that, because of love intervention.

DeEtta Jain has hunting vocals that feel like they are whispering the truth to you in a delicate, mind-washing manner. Her performance perfectly complements the uplifting beats produced by Stephen Patrick, as their collaboration hit it off with such energy.

The song has an experimental character dressed in blended genres such as Alt-Pop, Electro-Pop, and Lofi. Its sound presents the glitch sense in both confused and perky ways. Throughout the single, the rhythms tell the story as much as the lyrics and vocals.

The music video demonstrates Jain’s wild imagination and visualization. With the help of a creative team of filmmakers, they were able to produce a dream-like quality. It’s as if you’re in a dream where you’re seeing vague scenes and shifting between them smoothly, feeling disturbed but amused.

The notable artist concludes her song with a blissful, satisfied voice and red roses footage to deliver a message in her distinct style:

“If you’ve ever felt like a glitch in the natural sequence of reality, you are not alone. Perhaps you can data mosh in and out of existence and continue fostering a sense of pride in your alien-like ways. You’re the twist to the glitch babe.” ― DeEtta Jain

Britny Lobas opens “Hollow” with some solid determined vocals and a mellow groove, her expressive strong vocals in the verse made me wonder how she’ll top that as the song progresses in terms of dynamics but man, she handled it PRETTY WELL!
