Remixes give songs an unexpected new flavor. However, what K-SYRAN did to Boney M’s track “Sunny” was way more than just adding a flavor; she gave it a whole new delicious taste. If you’re into EDM, House, Trance, and Disco, you’ll feel a sunny ray leading you to the dancefloor.

K-SYRAN is a singer, songwriter, actress, author, director, lyricist, and activist for women’s rights. Obviously, she knows how to leave her trademark on everything she does and impact others. Is this a crush? by ZARAH WESTHOUSE

0

Just by listening to a song, you can tell if the artist cares about what they’re doing or if they’re just trying to sell you a new record. For example, listening to Zarah Westhouse’s “Is This a Crush” made me learn about Zarah: that she’s a sincere artist who tries to create genuine art that only she can deliver, that she enjoys and loves what she’s doing, and that she’s extremely talented. How did I know all that by just listening to her recent release? Well, let’s delve into the song, and I’ll let you know.

“Is This a Crush” is Zarah’s third single, yet you can witness how witty an artist she is. The Switzerland-based artist carries a sunshine energy that she was able to burst into her single and make it shiny, vibrant, and ethereal. Its blended sound will appeal to many, but more importantly, it is mixed in a way that won’t make you think, Hmm, this is a good song,” and then forget about it after listening; rather, you’ll be like, “This is the song that I’ll be playing for the rest of the week, at the next party, next car ride, and even while taking a good shower. I sensed some Avicii influence; however, the sound is organic and relatable to the theme and the energy that the vocals offer.

The vocals are intoxicating, dreamy, and dynamic. The lyrics are written smoothly to tell you a story, and the vocals make you visualize this story and make yourself the main character. You’ll be engaged from the intro to the outro and feel the magical melodies building a realm that suits you, with the atmospheric composition structuring every detail in this realm to make it euphoric enough for you to mentally stay there for a long time.

Westhouse is definitely expressing herself as a skilled artist in this song, but in its theme, she’s expressing the thoughts of many of us. It’s the story about every time you looked at someone and found yourself wondering, “Am I falling in love? Or is this a crush?” And she didn’t just manage to portray this feeling in the lyrics but also in the thrill of the electronic composition.

These are some of the reasons why Zarah Westhouse is a promising star. Hit the press button so you can have your own reasons to love her. You might want to keep an eye on her; she’ll be releasing an EP in five different languages by the end of September, and you don’t want to miss that.

Joogi’s new single, Timeline,” featuring Yelloo, is where raw emotions meet charming talent to produce authenticity. Whether you are looking for a song you can relate to or a song to vibe to with its catchy sound, “Timeline” will be your ideal companion.

“Timeline” is the Malaysian creative artist’s latest creation. With his collaboration with the emerging producer Yelloo, they managed to offer us a piece filled with sincere sentiments as it’s based on Joogi’s personal experience, along with emotive musicality and top-notch production.

The lyrics carry vulnerability, longing, and affection. As Joogi stated, “The song delves into time and the transient nature of relationships and explores the experience of encountering new individuals and the journey of it.” It may remind him of a dark experience, yet it’s still smooth and soul-stirring.

The intro is lighthearted with an anguished touch. Once the vocals enter, a wave of emotions hits hard. The vocals are tender and poignant, taking each lyric to one’s deepest, most tender, and most hurt part of their soul.

The instrumentals are atmospheric and set the mood for the kind of experience Joogi wants you to have with him. The keyboard notes are soothing, and the dynamic percussion will make you sway along. The entire R&B ambiance of the track is melodic and will make you seamlessly repeat it.

Every element is well-placed and exquisitely executed; however, Joogi’s hunting vocals undoubtedly stand out. This song reached your “Timeline” for a reason; enjoy its warmth!

Curiosity by LUKX

Aren’t you sick of people trying to tell you how to live your life? Lukx’s new single, Curiosity,” is sending you the message you need, which is to follow your guts. Don’t suppress your impositions to satisfy others.

“Curiosity” is an inspiring bilingual song by the Son and Dad collaboration, Lukx. The song carries diversity in every element. It’s soothing in one way and upbeat in another. It has a vintage flair while being futuristic. There’s melodic singing, and there’s daring rapping. The thought-provoking, motivating lyrics are in both English and French. A blend of R&B, Pop, and Rap gives the track an infectious charm and an organic atmosphere.

This is the 25th song since Lukx started in May 2021. The son and father duo are from Belgium and Sweden, and they’re dropping their songs from their home studio in Belgium. They are surely a prolific pair, and they know how to keep going, showing their musical prowess and keeping their authenticity. If you’re curious about how they do this, you just have to listen to their choreography, and you can start with “Curiosity” here.

Everything about the song is magical. It has a dreamy and determined vibe that will lure you in. The instrumentals are both gentle and dynamic, and the strings add a melodic, dramatic touch along with the mellow, chill riffs. The vocals are passionate and charismatic; they are definitely the center of attention here. You’ll find yourself seamlessly vibing with the verses, whether it’s the English or the French one. The vocal line is soulful yet bold, and it delivers the message in a sparkly, confident manner.

“Don’t ever stop to go trigger that curiosity,” Lukx says. If you still don’t know how and have no clue how to rely on your intuitions, look at the song’s artistic cover and learn to stop caring for people and things around you for starters; only then will your intuition’s sound be louder.

Enjoy and wait for more! Lukx releases a new song every month. I know I’m waiting for the next creative piece.

Stopless by GIANFRANCO PESCETTI

0

Gianfranco Pescetti, the USA-based electronic artist just released a new single titled “Stopless”…a melodic EDM track with super tight grooves and stunning sonic experiences…let’s dive deep and see for ourselves…

“Stopless” has many elements that hook you right away…

Starting from the super groovy and super melodic bass line…an element so charismatic and essential to the building of this sonic world of “Stopless”. It took me to the good old days like the bass lines from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”.

Then moving on to the other musical elements, like the percussion grooves… ear-catching…

…then the melodies themselves…and you’ll find many of those…

All the sounds used in “Stopless” are stunning to experience…

…and then you have the energy and vibe of the track itself…it’s energetic, balanced…meaning that it is not too fast nor too slow…it’s perfectly balanced; balanced enough so that it carries the melodies, beats, and grooves eloquently and makes it very accessible and easily digested by the audience.

Musically, “Stopless” is stunning… sonic-wise, meaning the audio engineering side…it’s glimmering, an excellent sonic experience to any EDM lover and also any music lover because at its core “Stopless” is a very melodic journey and anyone who liked music, likes melodies…and this one is full of that mojo.

Gianfranco Pescetti recorded the single in his Studio on Maui and sent it out to Austin Leeds in Miami for mixing and mastering…and the efforts are very clear, “Stopless” sounds exceptional.

Pescetti decided to go with a carefree vibe for “Stopless” and this is also very evident…this is the kind of track that would give you a burst of energy to go about your day.

Pescetti, we are fans of your work and we can’t wait to see what you have next for the world.

Cheers!

Soldier by STACEY JACKSON

0

Stacey Jackson’s “Soldier” is a wave of nostalgic flair smoothly blending with a contemporary colorful canvas, resulting in an authentic blended sound. It’s an inspiring anthem that utilizes all of its well-crafted elements to urge you to rise again, earn your freedom, and soar high.

A Singer, a songwriter, an entrepreneur, a TV presenter, and a mother of four are what Stacey Jackson is on a regular day. That makes one wonder: is she a superheroine by night? She can do it all, and she’s using her music to encourage us all to unleash our powers and be whatever we dream of.

“Soldier” has all that it takes to be a pop banger. It was co-written with Ramzi Sleiman, and that collaboration resulted in something incredible. All of the elements in the song work together to put you in a particular vintage yet present-day mood and, while you’re enjoying vibing in, deliver a significant message and give you a push forward.

Right from the intro, the song has such an infectious energy that it makes you eager to run, dance, or conquer the world. By the song’s end, you’ll feel charged enough to do the things you’ve been delaying out of fear.

The vocals, lyrics, musical composition, and production work hand in hand to make you believe that you’re as powerful as a soldier and that you’ve got to keep repeating the song. Jackson’s vocals are dulcet in one way and empowering and determined in another. She has a charming tone that makes you embrace each lyric she’s singing and offers a feeling of liberation. The musicality is structured to drive you to add the song to your mood-boosting playlist. The lyrics are your adrenaline dose for the day; they’re written in a way that provokes any negativity and conjures up the heroic soldier in you.

“It’s never too late to take a step,” the mesmerizing artist tells you. Hit the play button to enjoy the rest of the witty writing, catchy rhythms, passionate singing, and retro vibes.

EP: Remnantal by Sophia Stephens

0

Remnantal is the debut album from independent singer-songwriter Sophia Stephens. This is the first release after she had a single in 2021, and she has three more albums planned to be released soon. The new EP spans four tracks and shows the power and dynamic range of Sophia in a way you’d never imagine a 17 year old to be capable of doing.

The first track, Shadowlit, introduces us to the beautiful Alto range of Sophia and how she’s extremely capable of putting emotion into her singing. It’s impeccable how low her voice gets, and how she can intonate with melody while pronouncing every syllable and consonant clearly. The song sounds like a straightforward folk/indie piece with a lead guitar chord progression that leaves the vocals to be the main focus. The second track, Submerge, has a piano piece which is written thoughtfully and complements the emotion in the vocals so well. Sophia sings in an airy and light manner but still manages to keep the power and density of her voice.

The following track, Never Spoke, is the first instance of drums and percussion on the album. With the acoustic guitars and the song’s (relatively) faster tempo, Sophia sings with a lighter voice towards her head and mixed registers beautifully…you’re wrong if you thought she’s a one-trick-pony. The fourth and final track, Familiar, has an industrial electronic beat with some electronic synths…making it the perfect candidate for a successful pop single…this is the song for you if you like Lorde.

All in all, this is a versatile record and the four tracks show Sophia’s amazing vocal abilities and how she can navigate within her wide range with ease and agility. She is an amazing and emotional performer, and I’m sure her career will skyrocket soon.

Lightning on Galatea by Dave Mohan

0

The latest offering from progressive jazz composer Dave Mohan comes in the form of a soaring space trip of a composition that boasts rock tight grooves, sizzling horns, and a dazzling piano performance.

The cinematic and grand ‘Lightning on Galatea’ is the latest release from London-based jazz composer Dave Mohan, a baroque harpsichord scholar whose compositional tendencies fuse the classical and the modern with seldom-seen eloquence. With a fine ensemble on the different instruments, and with Simon Gibson of Abbey Road Studios on the mastering desk duty, there is no surprise that the final result is a particularly shiny one. From the absolutely solid drumming that starts the song, accompanied by a groovy piano line saturated with syncopation, keeping things nice and dynamic throughout the piece, the piece soon introduces its shining jewel, a trailblazing horn ensemble that totally elevated the mix from average space age jazz to intergalactic goodness.

Noteworthy also are the frequent rhythmic breaks and fluent saxophone solo sections, all delivered with near utmost perfection. The latter third of the composition sees the pace gradually decreasing until the sublime and dreamy coda kicks in. A breezy section of soft and cinematic jazz that would work exceptionally well backing the voice and guitar soloing of George Benson. A beautifully orchestrated affair that travels gracefully of high-octane prog, to experimental jazz, to jazz pop without as much as a hitch to the general flow of this elegant piece.

A prolific jazz composer and arranger like Dave Mohan is no stranger to releasing stunningly calculated pieces of music, and ‘Lighting on Galatea’ is by no means an exception to this trend of his.

Album: The Limited Sense by parjam parsi

0

More surprising melodic passages, virtuosic performances, and overflowing sensations of musical wonder flooded over me as I set to explore Parjam Parsi’s latest collection of piano performances.

Titled The Limited Sense, the project is Parsi’s pure jazz piano project, released just less than a decade ago, in 2014. The pianist is no stranger to bizarre musical statements that can at once elating and unnerving. Using his unlimited sensibilities, his piano playing never ceased to cast spells over me on the two albums I have had the pleasure of writing about. But while his 2 previous digital release (both also re-releases of albums released physically a decade earlier) were cinematic, peppy, and generally filled with charming accessibility, his latest release takes a different approach, setting Parsi’s passion for jazz free to roam, giving us a collection of genial, yet difficult to navigate musical compositions that combine delicate and nuanced performances with a mind keen on jazz harmony and theoretical intricacies.

The project differs also in being his first one yet to not be an entirely solo affair. Featuring Jonathan Gasparian on the drums and Nathan Gasparian on the upright bass, the three childhood friends got together in Salzburg when they were kids, and together they join forces to craft a roomy and warm ballroom atmosphere that’s highlighted by Jonathan’s tight shuffles, and by Nathan’s strangely mixed upright which sounds often like eerie growls, and of course, Parsi’s immersive compositions and performances.

By design, Parjam Parsi’s latest foray is a decidedly more difficult one than its predecessors. With deep jazz harmony and open-ended melodic passages, the pieces in this collection are more demanding than his previous, cinematic, and effervescent ones. But that goes without saying that for the lovers of experimental jazz piano, in the taste of Bill Evans or Thelonius Monk, will find something of extreme musical value on The Limited Sense.
