You might be convinced that this is the kind of life you want; however, MUNGMUNG’s “Internet Friends” is here to tell you that this digital, fake life is not what you need or even want deep down. On the other hand, if you already agree, then you’ll enjoy it even more! Every element of the song, especially the creative music video, will be appealing.

MUNGMUNG is a Sydney-based independent, emerging artist who came to the music scene to add fresh, sound-blended, realistic, and well-structured, performed, and produced songs. Her latest music video, “Internet Friends,” is enough proof of her genuine addition. It’s one of the songs from her album that was released in June, “Boujee Bby.”

“Internet Friends” unapologetically portrays the reality we live in now. To each other, we are not human beings now; we are just numbers on digital screens. The song combines dope elements, where each one is made flawlessly to both deliver the message and create a dynamic atmosphere.

After the success of his latest series of single releases, Michael Lyon released his most emotional yet-to-date and latest album this month. Michael isn’t new to the scene; with his raw lyrics and sweet tunes, he managed to lure in over 2K monthly listeners solely on Spotify. The Stanford graduate never had music on his radar, yet his love for it has always been there silently. His sound could be truthfully described as sweet, and soft, and aims straight to the heart. The artist draws his inspiration and influence from varied artists of different backgrounds like The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Cat Stevens, Neil Young, Mozart, Paul Simon, Jim Croce, and the Everly Brothers.

“What Could Be” is a 14-track album of heartfelt songs and raw topics that are personal to the artist and “seems fitting for a life like mine, with each stage laying a foundation for the one that follows – and a better understanding of the question, WHAT COULD BE.” As described by the artist. The inspiration for some of the songs, like: “How Long it Takes,” started during the pandemic days when life took a different turn for everyone and made us all pause and reflect. The album’s overall mood is optimistic, cheerful, and hopeful for a better tomorrow. Some tunes were hard to miss, like: “Family Tree,” which starts with this soothing guitar intro that sets the mood for what’s next. Another one was “One Man’s War,” which starts with an announcement, making it more like a recitative piece. One that particularly caught my attention and made me feel like I was listening to a musical was “Justice Day,” with its piano accompaniment, creating a lovely duet vibe with the vocals.

The multi-talented artist worked solely on the songwriting and vocals in this album. Along with the instruments played throughout the album: like guitar, piano, strings, and percussion, among others. This album was co-produced and engineered by Paul Horabin, who developed a strong musical connection with Michael that helped them move along the same frequency smoothly. It was mastered by Don Tyler at IO Mastering and recorded at ReadyMix Recording Studios in North Hollywood Van Nuys, California.

USA based multi-instrumentalist, composer/producer and multi-media artist Jacoby Davani has released a conceptual and avante-garde album with some serious psychedelic delicacies and flavors or uncharted musical territories that fuses excellently together and feels exceptionally and uniquely fresh…this journey in an album is titled “Sam Y Nona”.

Jacoby’s signature experimental musical storytelling reaches its peak so far with “Sam Y Nona”…from the title of the album, to the little voice snippets in the tracks, to the instrumentation and production of the album…Jacoby has put so much attention to details…it’s on another level, it feels like he’s making not just an album, but a film and its score…you could literally experience “Sam Y Nona” and after finishing it you’d feel like you’ve watched a movie. It’s super rich in dense emotions.

Being not just a pure artist-Jacoby is a M.S in Psychology and Behaviour Analysis holder…so he has two weapons not just one, from one side he’s making music…and from the other side he knows how to talk to your mind and soul through his music…a killer combination.

Without further ado…let’s jump into “Sam Y Nona” and see where this journey will take us…

The album consists of 7 tracks, with mystery enveloping all the tracks…there is always a sense of mystery to the meaning of the tracks…and the album…I feel like JSDAVANI wants to leave the interpretation of his music to us…he surely has a story in mind, but we as audiences will eventually see and interpret what we want to see and he doesn’t want to influence where our hearts take the story…that’s how I see it…

…and that’s why I love it even more and appreciate JSDAVANI’s art form…

“Sam Y Nona” is a diverse album…no way around it…even though having an experimental direction, each song has its own unique world that it lives in…

You have the first song in the album “Coumarou”…an ambient song, with vocals of a man and a little girl…the vocal performance feels like more of a telling of a story, rather than singing…this song establishes the fact that the storytelling elements here reigns above all…with some exquisite melodic lines with the piano and huge crashing waves with a synth and very dense rich pads, “Coumarou” takes us into the dream world of “Sam Y Nona”…

…a question I had been thinking about…are the voices in this song…are they Sam and Nona’s?

The mystery of “Sam Y Nona” is enough to keep the headphones glued to my head…JSDAVANI doesn’t shy away from the unfamiliar…

…and speaking of the unfamiliar…the second song of the album is titled “S.Winona ‘says whydon’cha'”…a very intriguing name for a very intriguing musical experiment…it’s more of a short movie experience, with sound effects and background music…and characters!

…and let’s not forget, this experience is 10 minutes…so it is very close to experiencing a dreamy short movie, because of all the dreamy synth sounds and pads that carry this song.

The album continues to suck us into this dreamy and mysterious world…with every song you experience, you delve deeper and deeper…however, the type of dreaminess and the intensity of the dreams vary from song to song…and the melodic direction varies hugely from one song to another.

…sometimes you’ll experience some bit crushed and ring modulated sonic elements like in “intendanending”…

…other times you’ll get sucked into the arpeggiated world of “nowhere”, where there is more urgency…to act, to run, to do something.

JSDAVANI worked with his Supreet Singh, one of his oldest and best friends, who also produces his own music under the name Prince Prospero…he gave his voice and wrote the words for JSDAVANI’s song “Overdue, Phone Call Long”.

The album finishes on another song…but this time the vocals play a more pronounced performance…the music is dark, the vocal performance is dark…and once again it’s performed with two vocals…like the first song…”the optimist” does the same but darker…and also heavy on storytelling elements…and it marks the end of “Sam Y Nona”.

“Sam Y Nona” is a film put into audio form, it’s the audio equivalent of a novel.

It’s new, fresh, unique, heavy, rich, experimental and filled to the brim with stories…and all of it feels very personal.

We wish all the best to JSDAVANI, he definitely deserves it and a lot more.

Waiting for JSDAVANI’s next release will be a difficult task…we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next…but we’re sure it’s going to be an even more mesmerizing experience.

“35 Days” by the emerging artist Maria Lane is a bittersweet song that carries both the pain and hope that lie in distant relationships. What makes you connect with the song, even if you’ve never been in such a situation, is that Maria’s personalized music makes you feel like you are part of the story. She wrote the song based on a personal experience, and she’s singing it sincerely and passionately.

The intro is upbeat, which tricks you for seconds into thinking that this is a euphoric song; however, once Maria’s melancholic, soulful vocals enter, you get that this is a melancholic song with bright instrumentals to ease it up a little. The mesmerizing vocals are backed up with superb musicality and a dreamy Folk sound. The guitar chords harmonize well with the intimate vocal line, and the drumming adds a peppy touch to the sentimental atmosphere. The entire musical composition is lighthearted and energetic, but frankly, the vocals are haunting, and you won’t help but get emotional with the vulnerability of the performance.

Maria Lane started releasing music in 2021, but she’s definitely a pro! She writes and performs flawlessly, creating a warm, genuine soundscape. She sounds like Olivia Rodrigo but in her own distinct way. I can see that one day her star will shine like Rodrigo’s! She knows how to grab your attention and stir your emotions with her authenticity. You’ll be listening to the song, wishing along that the 35 days pass and all the disagreements fade away with one touch.

“35 Days” is an intense yet positive take to start September with and a teaser for an EP coming in October. Stay tuned! With what I’ve just heard, I’m sure it will be spectacular!

Rising Turkish pop star Hande Çetik just released her single “Sesini Dinlerim” along with a music video…with some high production values for both the audio and visual sides of this single, it’s a new wave setting song that has all the elements of a hit.

Coming from the city of Izmir, Turkey, Hande was born into classical music, creating a strong connection to music, then graduating from the stage arts opera department of the 9 Eylul Conservatory, her love for music took her to the world stage, recording, and performing music that instantly appeals to audiences from all over the world.

This is the first sentence my brain uttered to myself when I heard Rusty Reid’s single “Rio Frio”…an acoustic epic that both sounds and feels absolutely mesmerizing…nothing short of a masterpiece.

“Rio Frio” is the kind of anthemic song that has the power to bring people together…the Seattle based artist somehow knew a formula to people hearts and souls and made a song with that formula…the result is a heartwarming anthemic ballad that shares a lot of DNA with some of the great music pieces…putting Rusty Reid among icons in the music world…and taking the audiences to a very warm melodic world.

The instrumentation in “Rio Frio” is one of its strong points…accordion, folk guitars, the raw and sensitive drums and of course Rusty’s super charismatic and iconic vocal performance, elevating the experience to another level.

Not all relationships are meant to be forever; however, ending them doesn’t mean we forget the person we built memories with. In collaboration with Madisyn Shipman, Josh Tepper released an emotive version of his song “Built Me” last December, conveying the longing for past relationships’ ghosts.

“Built Me” is a smooth mixture of sensational and spirited vibes. The blend of electronic and pop is appealing and offers an energetic, bright atmosphere, which eases the fact that this is a song about past relationships. On the other hand, the warm harmony between Shipman and Tepper spread emotional sensations.

The vocals of the charismatic duo strike the perfect balance between the lighthearted melody and the bittersweet theme, providing you with a very pleasant listening experience. Each element of the song is well-placed and urges you to groove along. You’ll find yourself seamlessly swaying with the uplifting beats while at the same time singing passionately along with the catchy chorus.

The song’s musicality is hooking, yet what stands out is the charming vocals. Having male and female vocals suits the theme best. Josh has a warm, tender vocal line, while Madisyn has a shiny, dulcet voice, and they harmonize in a way that gets you thinking this is a love song, despite what the lyrics portray.

Despite the overall mood-boosting energy, at 1:55, the raw, stripped-down delivery is soul-stirring, and the back-and-forth performance, like two partners having a conversation, gives the song intensity.
