Album: Always You by LYIA META

0

Lyia Meta has kept us on our toes since her latest single release: “Always You,” where she took the jazz scene by storm with this pop-jazz fusion track. She recently released the highly anticipated album that is named after her single. It’s an eight-track album that falls perfectly under the jazz lounge music category; it’ll leave you in a dream-like state and hypnotized with her pure, clear, yet powerful vocals.

After their previous successful collaboration, the artist joined forces, once again, with the songwriter and lyricist “Denise Denim” to interpret Lyia’s take on love, life, and fun with her deep lyrics.

The sequence of the songs is brilliant; it’s like a wave that starts slow, gradually rises high, then ends on a smooth note. Starting with “Always You,” which sets the mood for a very relaxing, romantic mood, moving to “Never Enough Time,” where it starts moving a bit more till it reaches “For You.” It particularly stands out with its swinging beat and seductive feel that leaves you mesmerized and swaying along, leading you to a dramatic end for the song. Throughout it all, Lyia’s vocal abilities are unmissable; it’s so vibrant, in control, and has undoubtful operatic abilities. She glides between the low notes and the higher-pitched ones; yet stays resonant and well-projected. Followed by “Savor Me” which has a more playful vibe and a Latin flavor to it, giving the album more diversity in sound. “As We Throw Caution to The Wind” has a beautiful addition of a beautiful string sound playing in the background, accompanying, and answering back to her voice. Listening to the last song in the album: “My Dream Lover,” I couldn’t help but hear a resonance in her voice and a vocal interpretation that reminded me of “Cher.” We’re keeping an eye on what Lyia comes up with next and how many more awards she’s about to receive!

Album: Memories of Empathy by SAMIR BODHI

0

Samir Bodhi just released his latest music, where he opens a window to his soul and invites you to look within through his compositions.  This very personal and emotionally driven journey resulted in merging cultures and unifying them to create a unique sound that creates aesthetically pleasing images through music.

Inspired by his travels from the East to the West, Bodhi noticed how kindness and empathy have dwindled post-pandemic. As a result, his inspiration for this album was born; he tries to convey a message of love and kindness through it. He “hopes to restore our Memories of Empathy through music, diving deep into the nature of human empathy and encouraging listeners to remember its forgotten elements.” As described by the artist.

The album is very rich culturally, it’s the ultimate fusion between Western music, its subtleness, and Indian music with its aesthetically unique instruments and flavorful vibes. One minute you’re enjoying a tune by the sitar, floating with a wind instrument that sounds like a bansuri. Next, you’re gliding along the piano tunes with their softness. The music is highly influenced by the sounds of nature, where you will hear the wind blowing and the waves crashing smoothly in “Compassion-Karuna.”

The album is a total of 6 songs, each depicting a certain mood or feeling precisely interpreted in the music. Bodhi collaborated with several renowned musicians and producers to create this incredibly unique album. Three tracks were co-produced by the guitarist/bassist Sanjoy Das, while the other three were by the American multi-instrumentalist David Vito Gregoli. For the final track “World of Empathy” he joined forces with the “Godfather of Indian Jazz” Louis Banks, a renowned Indian film composer and Indosphere keyboardist. To add a more personal yet dynamic touch, Bodhi collaborated with his wife, the acclaimed Bollywood singer “Madhumita Chatterjee” who sang the vocal line in the opening track of the album “Have and Have Nots” along with Indian classical vocalist Supriyo Dutta. The overall sound is captivating, soothing, and highly emotional, it surely is not an album you want to miss!

Guide Me Meron (Acapella) by JOSH TEPPER

0

In a very avante-garde and strong move, Josh Tepper released an acapella version of his hit single “Guide Me Meron”…this serves as a very personal and emotional journey…it feels like we’re standing in front of him in the studio!

Along with harmonies and backing vocals…the acapella version of “Guide Me Meron” feels full…maybe not of instruments, but full of emotions.

The original version garnered more than 400K streams on Spotify alone within just a few weeks…

The original song was a full production with huge drums, guitars, and a bombastic full, and rich sound…now, Josh is taking a more subtle production, a minimalistic and very emotional one…just his voice and soul.

The song talks about Mount Meron, which has special significance in the Jewish religious tradition. The village of Meron and the tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai are on Mount Meron. Leading up to the anniversary of his death on Lag BaOmer, thousands of people camp out along the slopes near the tomb, and on Lag B’Omer itself, hundreds of thousands make pilgrimages to celebrate the occasion…thus the palpable presence of strong emotional and spiritual energies in this song, both the original and the acapella version.

The widespread success of the original has reached fans of all ages and from all around the world…it touched a lot of hearts and had a huge impact on many souls around the world.

Josh took the spiritual song to another global level…and we can only imagine how mesmerizing his upcoming work will be.

Wishing Josh all the best in life.

Cheers!

Shattered by KELSIE KIMBERLIN

0

The Ukrainian-American pop artist Kelsie Kimberlin exists to stand out. She makes music to influence others, send significant messages, and add a colorful beat to life. Kelsie effortlessly offers diverse styles of music, and that’s why you can find a song of hers that fits your mood. Her latest release, “Shattered,” is a melancholic yet empowering addition to her discography. In one way or another, you will relate to this song.

Kelsie Kimberlin has been featured many times on our platform, and in each song we wrote about, we definitely witnessed her skin changing to something fresh and genuine. The emerging star knows how to translate power, vulnerability, optimism, defeat, love, and ambition to make a change into addictive songs that tell our stories and be a voice for whoever can’t express themselves.

“Shattered” is a song that everyone can relate to. We’ve all looked once to see our reflection, only to see a shattered version of ourselves or a shattered glass from the mirror itself, haven’t we? The story is about a girl who lets a boy shatter her confidence, self-image, and heart, which some may relate to, and others may relate to the realistic lyrics through another scenario. In all cases, you’ve got to admit that the lyrics are sincere and written in a touching manner.

Kelsie’s soul-stirring vocals will make you connect with the song and feel its melancholy, disappointment, and will to power through. She offers such a poignant performance, smoothly and exquisitely, making each lyric heartfelt in an aching yet solacing way. Her dulcet voice with a broken, sentimental sense is the centerpiece.

Along with the vocals, the melodic musicality delves with you into the depth of the story, passing through the shattered pieces and reaching for a glamorous new mirror. In the song’s well-crafted music video with Kelsie’s sincere delivery, there is a live pianist and string quartet, which, according to the artist—and I agree—capture intimacy. The instrumentalists’ masterful performances added warmth and enhanced the output.

This is the kind of song that you need to hear yourself to enjoy and feel the aesthetic of its structured sensitivity. Watch the music video below to have your own live performance.

Rotten Lemons by EDIZON

0

One of the best ways to convey a story is through music, and stories that are based on personal experience are the most compelling and soul-stirring. This is one of the reasons why the Finland-based artist Edizon makes distinct pieces of art; he tells sincere stories through his mind-blowing complex compositions, uplifting yet dramatic beats, charismatic vocal delivery, and polished production. You can easily spot all these quality components in his latest flawless song, “Rotten Lemons.”

“Rotten Lemons” is an extraordinary musical masterpiece about one of the most ordinary topics. It’s another song about the aftermath of a relationship, so the theme is familiar because it’s a situation many musicians made songs and full albums about, and the listeners lived the experience at least once. What makes it stand out? Well, Edizon’s music sounds and feels nothing like the repetitive songs out there. Also, the relatable story makes you connect on a deeper level, and storytelling flows smoothly.

Right from the intro, the door of a mystic realm opens, and you’re invited to an adventure of a lifetime. Once the vocal line enters, it demonstrates and captures your full attention. It demands that you hear the story and go through an emotional bumpy road where you stumble upon pain, anguish, felicity, self-awareness, and resurrection.

The synth and percussion, along with the dynamic beats, make you instantly vibe in. The sound is epic and sophisticated, but you’ll enjoy your time and groove. So whatever mood you’re in, Rotten Lemons” will provide you with dark and bright sentiments at the same time.

The sonic landscape makes you explore different dimensions with every step of the journey. Rap and EDM blend smoothly, a versatile vocal performance is offered with ease, and instrumental wonders will mesmerize your ears and soul. You’ll be immersed in each verse, eager to know the rest of the story, addicted to the raw, confident voice, astonished by the layered textures, and admiring the dope production.

This is an intense yet euphoric 5-minute journey; once it gets started, you’ll want not to get back. In this case, you can hit the repeat button and stay in Edizon’s unique realm for as long as you need.

One by CARL KAMMEYER

0

In Carl Kammeyer’s latest bombastic song, “One,” Electronica meets Pop, energy meets intimacy, dope musicality meets passionate vocal performance, and the two artists, Carl Kammeyer and producer Ossico (by Luke Stephen Beyer), blend their skills to result in the infectious, meaningful song.

“One” is a vibrant song that will set a euphoric atmosphere for you right from the start. From the intro to the outro, there’s mesmerizing harmony between Kammeyer’s hunting vocal delivery and Ossico’s dynamic beats, which will make you seamlessly engage. It’s such a boosting journey you didn’t know you needed, but you’ll definitely want to add this lusty one to your playlist.

The song conveys the importance of unifying and being one real family. The lyrics are inspirational and urge a change, but they’re twice as effective because of Kammeyer’s emotive, sincere, and powerful vocals. The captivating singing is delivered with an R&B soulful tone, contagious energy, and touching sensations. As well as aligning with the pulsing beats to offer maxed-out energy and felicity.

Kammeyer’s voice grabs attention from the first note; however, the musicality is also one of the key reasons that will get you addicted to this track. Ossico’s musical prowess highlights the power in the vocals, wraps the message with delight, and gets you dancing. The synth, the bassline, the percussion, and every beat throughout the song entice you to groove along and play the song over and over again.

If there’s “one” team that can stand and work together, bringing both elevating and emotional sentiments to “one” song, it will be Carl Kammeyer and Ossico.

EP: Vision of Sound by SØVN

0

Ambient music can be a challenge to define. To pinpoint what can be considered ambient music you might be tempted to check out the work of Brian Eno or similar composers who use minimalism and minimalistic arrangements, creating in the process dreamlike soundscapes that are at once barren, but lush with intricate detail. SØVN’s debut EP made me reconsider a bit what ambient music can be like because, in its relatively bustling arrangements, full of prominent melodies and driving drum lines, there was a lot of ambiance created. Vision of Sound is a breezy introductory EP that is soulful, sophisticated, melancholic, and thought-provoking.

Based in the American heartland state of Nebraska, Monowi to be exact, SØVN is a one-person project that is on their debut EP. Stating Khruangin among their inspirations, the music on Vision of Sound conjured to mind the sound of a far more obscure group called Hungry Ghosts. Similarities are immediately touching melodies, and arrangements based around guitars and less familiar sounds. While Hungry Ghosts uses ethnic instruments, SØVN uses lush pads and electronic elements. On Vision of Sound’s short 7 songs, SØVN displays themselves as comfortable with guitars and with immediate melodies. Takes no long time to set a scene, instead choosing to throw the listeners headfirst into the cloudy atmospheres and throbbing melodies. A bit like the music of the brilliant act Cemeteries, but far less gloomy.

Standing out among the EP are the 2nd, 4th, and 6th tracks, all wholly instrumental. ‘Windfall #16’ is a far too short stunner that washed me over with slow, gentle but heavy chord changes, a sudden distorted guitar motif, and a passage of heart-stopping vocal wails. Tasteful and sad. The EP’s central track, titled ‘Interlude’ started with an acoustic guitar line in a deep, brooding dropped tuning, the drone of the thickest string dropped down fully utilized to create a bass-heavy sound that’s soft and pillowy. And going with the piece’s delicate fingerstyle arrangement, the relaxation element skyrocketed. ‘Airees #18’ is the album’s most cheerful number. The relatively brisker pace, the keyboard-based arrangement, the puffy drumline, and the cyclic, major-sounding chord progression and accompanying melody all were delightfully optimistic.

SØVN does not intend to change the musical landscape with its debut release. Indeed, the up-and-coming musician, who busks occasionally in NYC where they will be starting college in the next year, seems to be on a project of passion, giving it their all. The results are direct and easy to feel, wholesomely produced, and crafted with love. An album that ends too soon, If Vision of Sound lacks in anything, it is in more music.
