Breathing by LUKX

0

“Breathing” is the latest result of the father and son duo LUKX…and it is a very upbeat, uplifting and extremely enjoyable, and genre-bending pop/dance/hip-hop fusion with many catchy elements that will make it stick to your ears, mind, and soul for a long time.

LUKX is the Belgium-based duo of father ‘Dad’ and son ‘LUKX’ with their modus operandi of fresh upbeat dance pop signature sound and the mixing of French and English lyrics…both their lyrics and music appeal to huge audiences across the globe.

Their latest release “Breathing” could easily be one of the most summer-vibed songs this summer and is an absolute treat for the ears.

“Breathing” has the dance beat, smooth vocal flows and catchy vocal oohs and aah…of course with masterful production values…everything sounds powerful but with a chill soul…the instrumentation is one of the best we’ve experienced for quite some time, and especially when it comes to the dance/pop fusion realm.

We’ve been following LUKX and Dad for quite some time and the evolution we’ve been seeing is monumental…they already started from a very high place and they’re raising the bar quite high for everyone else.

If they continue churning out hits like this one…then they’re going to break some kind of record and their stars will shine brighter, maybe even taking them on a global scale very soon.

We wish all the best for the amazing duo Dad and LUKX…you guys are awesome and your music is on the highest levels of catchy.

Can’t wait to see what you have next for the world.

Cheers!

Old Feeling by DJ ZENAS

0

Dallas-based artist DJ Zenas is set to take the hip-hop scene into a new destination, especially since the summer is upon us and it is the perfect opportunity for him to leverage the occasion and take us on a new and unique hip-hop adventure.

His new song “Old Feeling” is a mix of the old and new of what hip-hop offers…and he wants to be present everywhere with that song, it is a song for many occasions…from BBQs to dance floors and everything in between.

“Old Feeling” is a chill hip-hop R&B experience…with smooth vocals and a very artful vocal flow…sonically it feels actually very cool.

Awesome samples and loops are present here…absolutely excellent structure.

It is truly a song for any situation…a very smart and artistic challenge that DJ Zenas has overcome in a very elegant and smooth way.

The song definitely has a very strong presence of both the old and the new…it feels like it has the DNA of some of the old-school producers like DJ Jazzy Jeff…now that I’m thinking of it…

“Old Feeling” could be the new, modern, and evolved “Summertime” experience that DJ Jazzy Jeff gave us years ago…this is evolution.

The sounds and instrumentation are also reminiscent of the old school time…

But what DJ Zenas is bringing to the table is the twist of modernizing the sounds and modernizing the vocal performance…taking advantage of modern musical and rhythmic patterns.

DJ Zenas is definitely on to something very unique here…and with his very charismatic presence, his star will only shine brighter with each passing day.

We can’t wait to see what DJ Zenas will come up with next for us…but we bet it’s going to be absolutely awesome.

Cheers!

Carried By The Wind by RAY JOHNSON

0

With years of experience in the music industry that started at the age of 6 and over 100 written songs up his sleeves, singer/songwriter Ray Johnson has dropped the first single Carried by the Wind off his album Groove. A sweet melodic piece that’ll easily find its way to your “Favorites” playlist. Let me tell you more about it.

Ray Johnson opened Carried by the Wind with his soothing vocals, warm acoustic guitars, and subtle moody keys, promising a mellow dreamy tune that fits all tastes. It has a simple structure with a fluid progression that keeps the listener hooked, reminding me of classic acoustic works and showing Johnson’s deep roots and influences. Ray Johnson’s expressive vocals make the listener pay attention to every word he’s saying, and when mixed with his bright colorful melodies, it creates a cool breeze that makes you play Carried by the Wind with your morning coffee or at the end of a long day.

Carried by the Wind shows Ray Johnson’s seasoned writing skills, attention to detail, and well-knowledge of his sound and direction. Steering the song’s dynamics and keeping the listeners onboard and entertained simply using good solid writing, a deep emotional layer that subtly lay within his vocals and chords building a connection between him and his listeners. Looking forward to more from Ray Johnson, keep on rocking. Cheers!

Cage by AFFENTANZ

0

Affentanz’s newest single is a dazzling display of 80s synth-pop melancholy fused with modern production and themes, all delivered with maturity and nuance that’s fitting of the German electronica veterans.

Based in Cologne, Germany, Affentanz is a four-part band that dabbles with downtempo electronic music, making their sound heavy, sludgy, and dark, and their choice of stabbing synths and hard-hitting drums on their latest release ‘Cage’ does well to serve The darkness of the themes of the song.

Sung about the perceived falseness of everything around us, from the artist’s point of view. The song’s descending progression and poignant, simplistic melodies, do well to amplify this position of quiet desperation. The repeating chord cycle makes the music hypnotic, and the repeating, catchy hook is sublime, melodically, and lyrically.

‘Cage’ is a tight package of music and words. Spun carefully and with attention and care from the charting Affentanz, they are presenting us with a dark nugget of looming synth pop.

Please Wait, Saving… by MAJESKA

Profoundly powerful, colorful, and loud, Majeska’s latest single and the accompanying video are a bold audiovisual statement about how our current virtual lives affect our perception and hurt our communication, eventually doing more damage than we usually like to admit.

Burgeoning Nashville artist Majeska has been causing some stir in her local musical communities for a while now, and her latest single, titled ‘Please Wait, Saving…’ has been anticipated since she started playing it in love shows earlier in 2023. With its hyper-classical composition, the tape-warping effect on the delicate, eerie piano arpeggios, gives the song a haunting aesthetic that makes Majeska’s words feel like an eternal plea for attention to dire causes.

The artist’s clear lyrical vulnerability and classical inspirations draw odd parallels between this song and ‘Micro Cuts’ by Muse, another intense and classically inspired song about the wounds that can easily be caused by technology, if not used in moderation.

The video, directed by another Nashville-based artist, Talia Stewart, is poignant, while simplistic in its scenery and composition, making each frame easily understandable,  and just as easily shocking. Majeska’s performance, draped in the loudly seductive red, sitting helplessly in a glass cage, is heartfelt and moving. The song’s fusion of classical music introduction and dark electro-pop makes the music compelling and always moves from one style to another.

Majeska’s ‘Please Wait, Saving…’ is a haunting arrow to the heart. Loud and symbolic, it displays our lives in the glass cage of our phones and social media presences, constantly fishing for attention and reactions from people around us. Inspiring and eloquent.

In the Rain by EDIE YVONNE

0

The Los Angeles-based Edie Yvonne is absolutely going places. Good places. With her latest release, a single titled ‘In the Rain’, she proves herself once again as a capable songwriter who is able to bring forth stunning folk-pop, laced with writhing, sweet melodies, warm arrangements, and on this particular offering, a curious playfulness that effortlessly captures the imagination.

At 14 years old, Edie Yvonne is as musically mature as artists double her age. On her latest release, Yvonne displays a stunning vision and control over her sound that is shown through the mystical composition, intricate song structure, ear for arranging and layering, and that’s to name a few. Being in the studio weekly to write and record new music with fresh-faced producers Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta might be why on ‘In the Rain’ she sounds like she’s been making songs for years. With a mature grip on the harmonic structure of the song via colorful chords, and on the arrangement, displayed via the warm-sounding acoustic, roomy bass, and layered vocals, ‘In the Rain’ might easily end up on lists for the top folk-pop offerings for the entire year, if shown the attention it so readily deserves.

Nuanced songwriting is in full swing in Edie Yvonne’s latest. Not only is the musical composition weighted and intricate, Yvonne also packs this up with introspective lyrics, comparing a bitter emotional time with a loved one as being in the rain. Poignant and imaginative on all fronts. Edie Yvonne is a discovery. An artist so charmingly capable of weaving a net of warmth and comfort with her textured songwriting. ‘In the Rain’ is a stunner that is deserving of a moment in the limelight among many far more established creators of folk-pop. Being this good at only 14, I’m excited to see where Yvonne will be at 20.

KNOTS by MOON AND ARIES

0

This is not the first time for us to go on a journey that’s crafted by the awesome German composer & producer Tom Aries and Canadian writer & singer Jordana Moon…we’ve tried the taste of their music and we’re hooked on it…now, they’re back with another strong single titled “Knots”…let’s see how they’re creating this adventure this time around…

With their signature electronic pop sound and feel, Moon and Aries gives us a very musical and electronic ballad that has a very strong storytelling musical approach…it’s also evident with the lyrical approach and vocal performance.

The song could easily be visualized as being used in a big Hollywood production movie…or like an ending credits song…it has a very strong storytelling charisma…

…as the artists describe it, “Knots” is “This cinematic, electronic, chill, calm pop gem will throw you a rope to save you”…it’s an emotional trip that takes you from one side of the mountain to the other, with all the emotions in the world that you experience, you’ll feel them translated musically in “Knots”.

Of course, the musicality of Moon and Aries is there…the unique and charismatic synth sounds are here…and with Jordana’s angelic and emotional vocals…they raised the bar with this one…

Also, along with their unique sounds…” Knots” has a couple of Avante-garde moments that will make your head spin and say “Huh?!”…it will catch you off guard of course…and this is one of the most interesting aspects of “Knots”…it hits you from somewhere you’re not expecting.

We’re always mesmerized with Moon and Aries’ productions and we’re always there to experience their art…we wish you both all the best in the world.

Can’t wait to see what you are preparing next for your fans…it’s going to be a blast, we’re sure.

Cheers!

Berlin-based 5ON5 is at it once again, creating another anthemic song…this time they are releasing their latest single “Sunshine”…an upbeat melodic musical adventure…let’s see how it’s boosting our energy levels and making our day much better.

Even before releasing “Sunshine”, the four-piece band was already included in the Top 250 on German Radio Airplay and Top 30 College Radio Charts… after “Sunshine” they are even aiming for higher goals to achieve.

The song starts out with lots of energy…and 5ON5, these guys…they don’t lose steam…they go all the way, onwards and forward.

“Sunshine” is an energetic adventure…and it takes you by storm.

The song starts out with full musical power…

With very strong anthemic melodies, “Sunshine” really hits the bullseye of catchy melodic songs.

It starts out with a catchy vocal “oh, oh” and it continues throughout the song, keeping us glued to the melodies…along with the upbeat and fast drum beat that takes you back to the 80s…you feel like falling in a very tight musical groove upheld by the 808 acting as a locomotive to the whole song…and where everything fits just right together.

“Sunshine” is 5ON5 entering the next level of musical production also, the song sounds excellent in all of the sonic aspects…and feels great too in all the emotional aspects too…and that is 5ON5’s edge…they always feel right, they make us feel right…they can get the emotions out of us and into the world through their art.

We wish 5ON5 all the best, their star is shining brighter every passing day…can’t wait to see what they have next for us.

Cheers!

EP: Wedi Codi by CI GOFOD

0

All the way from Bridgend, Wales comes the Soul-infused disco-funk artist “Ci Gofod”…and he’s here to release his brand new debut EP “Wedi Codi”…which is in Cyrum, the Welsh language and after trying to translate it in Google I found out that it means “To Rise”…which is exactly what Gofod is doing here…he’s rising through the Welsh musical scene…and if he plays his cards right and continues with this attitude, he’ll find himself among the best in no time.

“Wedi Codi” is Gofod’s first EP and it contains 5 musical and lyrical adventures, 5 songs to take you from wherever you are in the world and into Gofod’s world that he crafted for us to experience.

At its core…“Wedi Codi” is a funk-unfused disco record that both takes you to the past but with a futuristic twist…it’s both classic and modern…

The album is composed by Gofod in his home studio and when playing live, he’s joined by his band members consisting of Josh David Read (keys, guitar, vox), Lloyd Bastian (guitar, vox), Quillian Thomas (bass), and Josh Cox (drums).

…the album starts out with the album title track “Wedi Codi”…a disco-sounding and feeling song…

…ah…and let me tell you something very interesting, “Wedi Codi” is written in Cyrum, the Welsh language, so the names of the songs might look extra unique.

As we said, “Wedi Codi” means something like “To Rise” and this is also the first track of the album, so we’re warming up…

With the funky guitar strumming, saxophone, and steady drum beat…even from a music composition point of view…everything is taking us back in time to the 80s…and everything sounds authentic…it also has a lot of soul mixed in…it’s a chill, laid back track…a hot chill and laid back track.

There’s another chill track that has strong love-making vibes going on for it…”Amser”, is super chill…and it’s just 51 seconds, so you literally won’t be able to get enough of it…

“Ysbrydoliaeth” is also an upbeat and energetic funk/soul/disco song…basically, if you’re into daft punk’s funky direction, you’ll be instantly hooked to Gofod’s album “Wedi Codi”.

“Wedi Codi” has a mix of different emotions and energy levels within the walls of its album, you have energetic songs…chill songs…so basically you have everything, whatever feeling you’re looking to feel, you’ll find it here.

This is a highly recommended album…and the Welsh language makes it even more intriguing and unique…

Ci Gofod’s singles have been featured on BBC Introducing with Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru Playlist, and Aled Hugh’s BBC Radio Cymru and Featured Live at The BBC 6 Music Fringe Festival when it featured in The Moon Club, Cardiff.

We wish Ci Gofod all the best in the world, he’s amazing and he’s making amazing music…

Can’t wait to see what he has in store for us next.

Cheers!

You’ll Be My Baby by CHRISTINA WINTERFELL

0

Christina Winterfell just released her latest disco pop single “You’ll Be My Baby” almost a week ago and it’s here to spice up our days and push us in an energetic and upbeat mood.

From Stockholm, Sweden, Christina is sharing her positive vibes with the world…and we’re enjoying these vibes as they come!

“You’ll Be My Baby” starts with a huge bolt of energy right out of the door…

The drum beats, percussive sounds, and pumping bass energy sucks you in right away.

Christina’s soaring pop vocals are complemented with a very melodic musical production and knowing that Christina is from Sweden, we already had a hunch that the music would be harmonious, unique, and catchy…this is Sweden, land of melodies…and Christina is continuing this legacy on forwards and onwards.

The most interesting aspect is that with all the musical sections of “You’ll Be My Baby”, like the verses, choruses, and bridge…you always get a unique catchy melody…it is not like they focused on just the chorus…no sire…everything sounds full of charisma actually.

The upbeat nature of the song coupled with Christina’s relaxed yet soaring vocals creates a very lovely energetic…yet chill, somehow mood…it definitely put us in an uplifting mood and had us singing to its melodies in no time…and I personally believe that this kind of song making is not so common anymore, unfortunately, it’s something that is sorely missed in fact.

Christina’s vocal abilities and her vocal texture are an absolute joy to experience, a unique artist with a very strong artistic presence…we can only imagine that her star is going to get brighter every passing day.

We wish Christina all the best in both her personal and professional lives, we can’t wait to hear what she has next for us.

Cheers!
