Not Finished Yet by Addi P

Few things can be more intoxicating than a soulful, minimal composition, and a complex flow of chill, seductive rap on top of it. And that is a thought that came to me while listening to Addi P’s latest single, and now I firmly believe in it.

Addi P is a one-woman band that’s masterminded by its namesake, a London-based artist. Her latest single, titled Not Finished Yet, is really stunning. The miniscule arrangement features no more than a sparse beat, some warm and colorful jazzy chords on a Rhodes, Addi P’s intoxicating flows, and an ad-lib here and there. Not much to be honest, but the effect is pure hypnosis.

The arrangement sounds simple, and that’s because it is very simple. But great production makes very few elements speak loudly and make lasting statements. The arrangement also features points of dynamic variation in which the beat fades, or the chords do, adding momentum to the motion of the music. Addi P’s bars and flows are sublime as she creates a fusion of rap, soul, and jazz that’s bold, dramatic, and quite seductive.

Not Finished Yet is a great offering that will appeal equally to lovers of its three constituent genres of music. Perhaps it does not break any musical grounds, but it is extremely sensual, and that’s what matters most.

I don’t want to live without you by lorenzo gabanizza

After a bunch of successful collaborative singles together, Italian singer-songwriter Lorenzo Gabanizza is once again collaborating with renowned English musician and his long-term collaborator Jeff Christie. The name of their amazing and versatile new single is “I Don’t Want To Live Without You”.

The track begins in an epic and grandiose way with almost all the instruments in the song making an accent or a brief exclamation to mark the start of the track. We are then taken to a chord progression and rhythm section during the verse. Calling the vocals legendary would still be an understatement of how amazing they’ve been done. After the verse is done and we reach the chorus, we are introduced to another cool element which is the angelic gospel choir backing the two vocalists as they sing those powerful and impactful lyrics.

Right after the chorus, we hear the folkier instruments take over the song’s lead melody and some of the harmonies. The second verse doesn’t follow in the footsteps of the first one in an identical way, but has some slight differences….and that’s what keeps this song charming and engaging throughout its duration.

The strength of the rhythm section here makes it more akin to rock and country than folk, but they make it work with the traditional elements and the folky atmosphere in a way that I couldn’t have thought was possible. It is beyond me how this track seamlessly blends a large number of influences from a wide variety of genres like that, but the star of the show is definitely the phenomenal vocal arrangement performed by these two legendary men who have made an uptempo, upbeat, and triumphant song that is set to become a hit and a timeless classic.

The Fifth Step by ROGUE FX

A rocking lead single from Rogue FX’s debut EP, ‘The Fifth Step’ sports retro synths and beats, charismatic vocals, and quirky production in a promising package.

Based in Durham, The United Kingdom, Rogue FX is a moniker for Andrew Wood, hailing from Northeast England. A synth-pop veteran, Wood has been active since the 90s with the synth-pop act ‘Please’ and house outfit ‘Bass Value’, and after a long hiatus, Wood returns to release retro wave bangers under the name Rogue FX.

‘The Fifth Step’ is the title of Rogue FX’s lead single, and it sounds fresh and groovy. The song’s immediately groovy feel comes courtesy of a rhythmic, arpeggiating synth, and a neat drum beat that utilizes a punchy-sounding kit. The composition is energized and its endless repetitions make the sound hypnotic and very easy to get used to.

Inspired by science fiction, more singles from Rogue FX’s debut EP are planned to drop in June and July, and it is a fresh sound that brings a tinge of nostalgia that we are quite eager to explore further.

ZER0 by Leonardo Barilaro

Aerospace engineer Leonardo Barilaro is quite literally taking it into outer space with his latest composition ZERO.

An Italian pianist and aerospace engineer, Leonardo Barilaro is based in St.Paul’s Bay on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Malta. With ZERO, Barilaro achieved an unprecedented feat, with his latest composition ZERO orbiting around Earth for a second time. The piece first went onboard the International Space Station as part of its Maleth 3 mission, then it went onboard the SpaceX CRS27 rocket. The composition was stored on the mission computer and orbited in Space for 30 days.

As for the piece; featuring a dynamic composition that features a lot of left-right hand syncopation, the sound would probably be safely described as enigmatic and experimental, with the melodies being deeply embedded into the song’s internal harmonic composition. Barilaro produces a striking performance of a striking composition that’s light on dissonance but introduces tension with unsettled harmonies, and great, massive leaps in the frequency of the notes played, often venturing into the piano’s highest registers, unlocking a heightened state of attention.

ZERO is a piece of music of cosmic proportions from an Italian composer of experimental music with an edge for exploration. Leonardo Barilari’s Zero is a piece of music with immense value to its delivery and intentions.

He played clubs in Australia and in Poland…and has events booked this year in Poland once again and Croatia too.

This is definitely one of the more unique multipotentialities I’ve ever come across…and one of the most disciplined with a winning attitude artist ever…he took a 10 weeks course at Labsix to start his DJ journey, and he finished it within 4 days…talk about commitment.

Tai’s latest single “Intergalactic” is a hard-hitting electronic track with elements from several subgenres in EDM, it’s got some house, some trace elements, and some pure electro stuff.

It really feels like a world star athlete has made this music…the music gives you a mega-push and drives you to go and train, or dance all night…the music is very energetic and the sound engineering is also on par with that greatness…the sonic experience in “Intergalactic” is complete…everything sounds great and feels great.

EP: Systematic by Anthony Casuccio

Anthony Casuccio just released today his new EP titled “Systematic”, and it is a blast to go through its 5 tracks, an enjoyable ride.

Anthony hails from East Amherst, USA, and with more than 25 years in the music business, Anthony is an established veteran in the field of music production and engineering…Actually, he does all his recording, mixing, and mastering in his studio business ‘Xtream Audio”.

Anthony had his music played on air in over 70 countries…and his music appeared on several TV shows too.

This time, Anthony leaned a bit away from his usual guitar-centric production and more into an EDM dance environment where he still maintains the presence of his guitar works.

The EP starts with “Love, PT 2.0”, a dance electronic pop song with waving arpeggios, huge soundscapes, and of course a guitar solo…this is part of Anthony’s essence and who he is…

Going into the second track, you’ll see “After The Fall”…it’s an upbeat song with beautiful lyrics…the structure of the song makes great space for melodic vocal lines…and this time the piano is highlighted in several parts…I know what you’re thinking…and yes, it has a beautiful guitar solo…maybe if it were just a bit longer…

“Lighthouse” starts hot and keeps building up and evolving, sonically and structurally…till it reaches the highest point, and then…it surprises you, it plateaus for a second, only to hit you hard after that with a sonic surprise…with the guitar solo, it maintains the fingerprint of Anthony.

Anthony has a very distinct character, an upbeat mood with fast and energetic beats along with a melodic guitar solo…and I love how his character and his passion appear in his music…

…going further into the EP we got to listen to “Why Wait”, and Anthony changes the whole EP experience on its head here…this song is more of an electronic ballad…with a relaxed tempo and minimal instrumentation during the verses and a beautiful chord progression building up to the chorus…the chorus is big and anthemic…and yes, there is a mini guitar solo here near the end of the song…

“Motion” is the last track in the EP and it’s an instrumental…it takes us back into the uptempo of the previous tracks, with a more trance intro that quickly evolves into a heavier electro-pop area…there are some minimal rock elements thrown here and there that adds to the experience…

“Systematic” builds up from a great starting point and ends up on a high note…

It’s an enjoyable electronic ride with guitar solos everywhere to be found, so basically everyone will find something to love about the EP experience.

Anthony, we wish you all the best in life, you deserve the best.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with next time.

Cheers!

wit da mob by Ace Fontaine

From Union, New Jersey, USA, Ace Fontaine is an upcoming hip-hop artist and rapper…

With a very solid flow and lyricism to his work, he’s bound to make some splashes with his work.

Ace just released a new single titled “Wit Da Mob”.

It was produced by Rokkai…and I don’t know why, but I get the feeling that Ace and Rokkai are close friends…and this is something that really shows in the end result because when you work together with someone who understands you, write the lyrics, record the vocals and produce the track…you’re getting the end result as if it was only one person that created everything…and this is the strength of working with someone who really understands you….

…and you’re enabled even more to convey this artistic image more elaborately to all of your audiences.

“Wit Da Mob” shows several artistic sides of Ace while also showing his most treasured moments and people in his life, which are his friends.

Friends are important to Ace…and really, to anyone in the world…friends are the support, cover, and strength.

The song has chill vibes with a solid beat while also being infused with Ace’s flow, which is very very smooth…

“Wit Da Mob” also has a music video, cleanly and professionally shot by Tre.Otherworldly…you should check it out to get the complete experience.

Ace, we wish you all the best in the world…we’ll be on the lookout for your new music whenever you drop it.

Cheers!

Album: Zahrenia by Gerasimos Papadopoulos

“Zahrenia can be the object of desire, the airy meaning of existence, a lover or a beloved, the nostalgia of embryonic fullness, any destination”….as described by the composer of the album “Zahrenia”, the one and only Gerasimos Papadopoulos.

“Zahrenia” is an oriental album that takes you on a journey through the fairy tale “Zahrenia” by the Greek writer Foteini Kaimaki, the album goes hand in hand with the story and tells the story from the heartfelt music side of the story.

The album has 10 tracks that tell the story and take us through the journey…

“Zahrenia” is the love project of a team of amazing musicians and artists, and it’s a privilege to get to know these brilliant minds…

All the music has been composed by Gerasimos Papadopoulos and also Gerasimos did vocals and oud.

Lyrics by Foteini Kaimaki

Vocals were also performed by Evangelia Chaldeaki

Ney by Achilleas Tigas

Percussions by Stefanos Agiopoulos

Contrabass by Thomas Meleteas

Recording and mixing by Yiannis Skandamis

Mastering by Apostolos Siopis

Cover photo by Karim Amr

Graphic design by Evros Voskarides

…a brilliant team of artists that worked harmoniously to bring out the best in each other and deliver “Zahrenia”, the album.

The album starts with Taksim which is some kind of an oriental improvisation on oud, serving as an intro to the whole experience.

Within its tracklist, the album goes into different moods and different vibes…

…for example, the fourth track titled “The Garden Of Allah” is an instrumental and percussive experimental journey, very hypnotic and very explorative.

Diving deeper into the album we come across “Bazar” a more upbeat and positive vibe-instilling track…and with more movement.

Stopping by the seventh track, “Aman, Aman, aman” you’ll come across this common phrase, evident in the Turkish and oriental culture and can be found across the culture actually, music or otherwise…the album is once again one of the faster-tempo tracks in the album…with Gerasimos’ vocals shining through across with Evangelia’s…both of them are delivering highly emotional performances.

Before the last track, once again the oud plays some Taksim, but on a different scale this time, this track-once again-acts as a portal, but this time around, it’s a portal to the end of this amazing journey, and to open the gate to the final track…

The tenth and final track of “Zahrenia” is “Ah, My Heavens”.

The track is very spiritual in its naming and its nature…

A very apt ending for this journey and finishes off on a very traditional oriental ending.

“Zahrenia” clearly showcases and highlights all of the artist’s talents and skills gracefully through Gerasimos’ musical compositions.

It’s a relaxing oriental folkloric journey in modern times…

To Gerasimos, and the whole team, we wish you all the best in life, you deserve it…and a lot more.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with next, we’ll be on the lookout.

Cheers!
