Thanks For That By Gavan Waldby

0

In the wake of the success of Gavan Waldby’s single “Thanks for That”, which racked up over 26,000 streams on Spotify. The singer/songwriter/instrumentalist decided to create an instrumental version of the song, which is scheduled to be released on the 25th of November 2022.

“Thanks For That” was originally written, as described by Waldby “An emotional tribute to the strong women in my life that look after me and have my back. My wife, my daughter, my big sis and my late mum”. The song received a lot of praise and people liked it. Waldby decided to take a different approach with the instrumental, giving it a jazzy vibe. He replaced the vocal line with an emotional melodic saxophone played by Joshua Hatcher. Waldby added guitar lines, bass, drums, and string sections to create an emotionally charged piece of art.

Neon Dance By SpaceCat and Ruediger Tietz

0

“My music is about the adventures of SpaceCat, a space agent who experiences the craziest adventures in the universe.” SpaceCat is a project that was born during the pandemic in 2020 in Germany, Hanover by Keyboardist/composer/sound designer Ruediger Tietz who is influenced by Daft Punk, Depeche Mode, and Pet Shop Boys. He releases his banger electronic-pop single “Neon Dance” on 24/10/22.

The song starts with an 80’s synth vibe fueled by a groovy beat going into the verse that has perfectly placed vocals singing “dance with me until the sun goes down”. Afterward comes a music interlude that has a catchy synth and backing vocals giving the song atmosphere. Firstly, the neatness of the sound design managed to place the listener in a nostalgic 80’s feeling in a way that might be very smooth to the listener, but the massive effort that’s put into the sound design and the production can be heard throughout the song.

Sweetest Pie by Manje khan

0

Candylicious and buttery,  artist Manje Khan released a feel-good state-of-mind song ‘ Sweetest Pie’ on the 21st of October based in Atlanta, US.  Manje khan is blessed with diversity in blood, with Nigerian heritage packaged in the American dream. He believes the ultimate way to write music is to make deeply personal things in a fun and catchy way. He tells us about his contrasting life through fine-crafted lyrics. He loves to write music that is unforgettable and withholds your senses.

This song feels like a honey jar filled with soft and fuzzy pink marshmallows. While the content of the song is oven hot, the song is so chill and playful, it’s almost laced with some synth stoner vibes, perfect for getting a little hype in the morning. This song is for people who can’t easily express how they feel to people they have feelings for. The overall sound of the song is bubbly, smooth, and really catchy.

The laid-back hip-hop style soundscape with the light, high notes of electronic sound effects really set a sweet and upbeat tone to the song without the usual intensity of hip-hop music. The rhythm is medium paced, and the musical arrangement is dense and creamy with a sexy 808 groove, drums, and hi-hats that drive the beat. There are magical sounds that feel like sparkles and we guess that’s what our brains would feel when in love- sprinkled in golden. The vocals of Manje are so pleasing to the ear, he sounds so into what he’s feeling and saying, as he raps his way continually but in a slow fashion. This beat is perfect for uplifting and fun vibes.

Something Gets Me by Julie Ann Weiler

Genre: Alt Rock Pop/New Wave/Indie PopAfter ten years hiatus, California-based singer/songwriter Julie Ann Weiler is back with a more mature sound, and new life lessons learned. Teasing her upcoming full-length, Julie Ann Weiler dropped the single “Something Gets Me” on the 18th of November, and it’s a piece of heavenly music, let me tell you more about it.

With calming piano and soothing vocals, Julie Ann Weiler opened her sweet heartfelt ballad “Something Gets Me”. Right around the first chorus, the warm guitars engage in a beautiful conversation with the piano, while Julie’s angelic voice leads the listener to the next level, building up to a bigger multi-layered, beautifully orchestrated sound.  “Something Gets Me” has skillfully crafted dynamics, it keeps on moving toward a bigger and brighter sound with smoothly fluid melodies, even in the calm parts, the orchestrations gave a massive effect, until it ends on a high note.

“Something Gets Me” is a heart-hitting, stream of emotions transported in lovely melodies by Julie Ann Weiler. It brings back the singer-songwriter’s classic ballads, with grand sound, solid writing, and super vocal abilities. Looking forward to Julie Ann Weiler‘s upcoming full-length, cheers!

What’s Right by ORA BLU

0

What’s Right is a haunting, hypnotic offering from a very hot 3-piece that should be receiving way more attention.

The Berlin-based 3-piece ORA BLU are back with a brand-new offering. This time, What’s Right delivers a punchy, electronically treated piece of Indietronica that’s captivating and quite calculated too.

Generally considered as an Indie band by the 3 members, ORA BLU uses a wide range of influences and genres to craft their immaculate sound. What’s Right is hypnotic, delicate, airy, and sublime. The minimal trap beats are solid and efficient, with singing that’s lazy and soulful. The characterful vocals are simple but effective. Properly mixed in, they sound smooth and silky. More prominently catchy for me was the electronic treatment. A number of melodic, jumpy, percussive synth lines dominate the soundscape and provide a futuristic, pristine backdrop, with the wailing, harsh, unique string arrangement that ebbs and flows, for a result that packs a healthy punch, charisma, and presence.

What’s Right is simply gorgeous. ORA BLU do not sound like they are exploring sounds as much as they sound like a back entirely comfortable with their surroundings, with focused songwriting, and intentional production, for a calculated, precise output that’s rich and endlessly compelling.

Immeasurable Distance by Parjam Parsi

There can be no denying the mystique that surrounds the Armenian pianist and composer, Parjam Parsi. An obscure talent, intentionally drawn and musically reclusive, his melancholy-tinged, heart-rending compositions sound dear, tender, and fragile, further amplifying his compelling vibes.

Today we take a look at his second online-released LP for 2022. After the haunting (I’m Decadence and Disarray), an album was written to commemorate the very personal and complicated relationship between Parjam Parsi and his mother, here he drops a stunning second release, Immeasurable Distance. While just released, Parjam Parsi’s music has been recorded and released in limited physical form way back in 2009, Parjam only decided to release his work to the public recently. With not much disclosed in terms of what inspired this release, or inspires it, we are left, as listeners, to connect the dots and to interpret the pieces as we want.

A few lines extend throughout all the compositions, acting as a rope that binds them all together, providing them with a hint of context and ample cohesion. The pieces are entirely wordless.. instrument-less in fact, it’s just Parjam’s pristine, dynamic piano. There is a ton of internal arrangement on the album, with the piano rising and falling in volume, dynamics, and intensity, with Parjam in total control the whole time. A talented performer, Parsi delivers all those delicate, semi-complex compositions with such effortlessness, the whole album flows delightfully and sounds rich and warm, while simultaneously raw and organic.

The pieces, while gorgeous, tend to sound a little timid when arranged in an album format such as this one, an issue I sensed with far less intensity on his previous record. Parjam’s composition is delicate and compelling, but traditional and textbook. For the most part, the left-hand plays an intricate, gorgeous, and repetitive harmony part, and the right one plays a sweet, high melody that’s packed with whatever emotions Parjam felt while composing the piece. The results are still wonderful! The pieces sound fresh and enjoyable, amazingly played, and thoughtfully composed, it’s when you put them back-to-back that troubles begin to peek through the cracks induced by the repetition that’s induced by repeating the same concept over and over again.

Parjam Parsi’s music sounds wonderful and inspiring when you take a moment to sit back and listen. Listen for all the subtle changes in dynamics, listen for the loaded inflections in the tempo, and ultimately, listen for the gorgeous chords and haunting melodies. It’s unfortunate that putting those precious compositions in an album form caused them to lose some of their lusters, at least to my ears, or maybe if Parsi would provide a little narrative or context to support the flow of the pieces. Either way, with music this sensual, I can not recommend Parjam Parsi’s latest album, Immeasurable Distance.

Perception by Bonnie Milne

Bonnie Milne’s intricate, simple, yet rich compositions see her in a comparison with the legendary Richard Clayderman.

The Ontario native, Toronto-based Canadian Bonnie Milne is a songwriter, composer, and musical educator. With a critically acclaimed album already under her belt, titled Anticipation, she hits the airwaves again with a new single, Perception. Let’s take a closer look.

Written in her signature style, Perception smoothly and eloquently changes the key, introduces strings, removes them, and returns to the key, all while maintaining sweet and reassuring eye contact. The piece manages to travel and discover rich melodic and harmonic worlds without ever sounding challenging or having a single disruptive moment. A fluid, flowing piece of peaceful music.

The serene strings are worth a deeper dive on their own. Wonderfully arranged and utilized, and used sparingly, the arrangement manages to add a massive value to the context whenever they were playing.

Perception is a deceptively simple, haunting, gorgeous, and soothing piece of Neoclassical music. Masterfully and effectively composed and arranged in its author’s signature style, Perception is as good an introduction into Bonnie Milne’s world as any cut on her acclaimed album.

Fire by ZOE

0

“Humans have always gathered around the fire. So, in a way, fire becomes the place we are truly known” Said Australian singer/songwriter ZOE upon releasing her first pop-rock single “Fire” written, sung, composed, and produced by ZOE from her upcoming debut EP “Sun “.

“Fire” is considered by ZOE as “the eternal love song” the song contains a beautiful ambient and plucked strings section, a grounding simple drum beat, and a melodic guitar line that emerges at the end of the song, with Zoe painting the lyrics over the music with her expressive voice. Lyrically the song takes the listener on a life-exploring journey. First, she sings about how everyone can find a place to call home in one and how everyone is the same. As ZOE sings “Now we are part of the same fire”, the song takes a unity theme in lines such as “and in the space between us we grow like vines”.

REVENGE by BONE$ THE SPITTA

0

Artist and rapper Bones The Spitta based in New York, US, released a dark rap song called “Revenge”, one that will leave you with feelings bubbling up about people who hurt you. Dropping on the 8th of June in 2021, this song continues to make hot listening rates on Spotify. Bones started making music at the age of 16-17, after getting an internship at a recording studio. He has one album and has toured in some parts of Asia and Europe.

This song is definitely for savage modes only. It talks about getting revenge and bringing your right to the table after being hurt. You really feel it from the beat that was chosen without even the words. Bones really went thoughtful with the production on this one. The overall sound of the song is intimidating and daunting. You’ll be wondering who crossed Bones and inspired this creation out of him. The soundscape is harsh and catchy, with orchestral sound effects creating the tone and slow pace of the beat. There is a hard-hitting bass that is very prominent and catchy drums. The vocals are smooth and spit venom. If you’re feeling a little insidious, this track is for you.

Fake Gold by Micki XO

0

With a passion for music and a dream to connect with other people, pop singer/songwriter Micki XO from Portland, United States, addresses mental health, self-love, and relationships topics that she experienced and got through with the power of music. Micki dreams of touring the world and helping people in their darkest hour like how music helped her in the past. That brings us to her latest release “Fake Gold” released on 21/10/22

“Fake Gold” addresses the constant battle between a person’s mental illness and trying to achieve a normal healthy life such as in the lines; “how did I end up in this place? Where my emotions take control?”, the name itself was inspired by acting normal on the outside while being drained on the inside by mental illness. Micki’s soulful voice backed by pulsing plucked and atmospheric synth gives a comforting feeling while assisting the listener to address the issue.
