Angus Quinn is a unique, expressive artist who just released his new single ‘Enemies in Love’.
He’s a producer, in-demand writer, and a featured artist since he released his previous singles ‘Fading Blue’ featuring Cassidy Ford and ‘Hard to ignore’ in 2020 from which he received great recognition and hundreds of views. Quinn is based in the Washington DC metro area. He’s mainly focused on alternative folk genres and songwriting. Apart from his award-winning singles, the artist records covers of hit songs that fall within his vocal style at his home studio and uploads them on his YouTube channel, while adding his aesthetic and vibe to these songs.
‘Enemies in Love’ is his latest single, a sweet and simple tune that sets you in a chill, relaxed mood with synths, a comfortable chord progression, a few guitar notes, and a very noticeable voice, leaving you hung on the ambiance it sets you in.
Quinn is expected to release a 4-song self-produced EP on May 31st which seems very promising and we’re looking forward to enjoying his ambiance and unique vocal style.
“Joyology” is the 5th release from “Bloomfield Machine,” the brainchild of the skilled musician Brian Kassan. If you’re not sure in what mood you are, what you’re feeling, or how to process it all, then this album is ideal for you. It will make you embrace your feelings and thoughts and act upon them.
The album has been structured brilliantly; all the 18 tracks are well arranged, with attention paid to every detail. The titles are chosen wisely and conveniently for what the tracks have inside. The blend of Indie Rock and Electronic Music is a splendid experience. With this mixture and the creative musicianship, Bloomfield Machine has its own genuine sound. The tracks swing between bright and dark, gleeful and melancholic, melodic and noisy, just like how human emotions shift.
The opening track, “Shades of White,” sounds exactly like its title. That’s the only way to put it. It feels like the beginning of a relationship, with its excitement, anticipation, tension, first angry fights, and some confusion. “Cathedral Of Rhetoric” begins brightly with soft chords and straightforward percussion, but as it progresses, it feels as if we’re approaching a story’s climax. You’ll find important memories flashing in your mind, from the finest to the bleakest.
It kicks off with an edgy ambiance in “DNA Harvest.” The dynamic drums have the feel of rapid heartbeats. The entire track sounds like some tangled thoughts in mind with heartache, but by the end of it, there’s an enlightenment moment that makes it all at ease. It’s funny how the first thing that came to my mind about the previous track was that it was the sound of tangled thoughts, only to be followed by “Entanglement.” It really showcases that there is no discrepancy between how each track is different and unique and the fact that they all complete each other somehow. This one sounds more glitchy and noisy, which makes it ideal to describe the conflict, tangled thoughts, and the major ones that result in stomachaches and heartaches.
“My Different Selves” has elated beats. From the intro to the outro, you’ll find yourself bouncing and dancing. It’s plainly the sound of the sensations of making peace with oneself, or in that case, one’s many selves. It’s the second track to have all-around joyous vibes, as “Happiness Calculator” was the first. “The Last Polymath” goes back to the balance between light and dark. The first half has some pleasant and energetic riffs, and the second has a stringed instrument that gives it a dramatic touch.
In “variator,” there is celebration, victory, liberation, and rejoice. It’s as if all the sadness has vanished, and it’s now the beginning of a new chapter in a delightful new beginning. “Vicissitudes” is epic! The passionate, headbanging drums set the mood for you. All these elements combine to arouse your emotions. You’ll feel like you’re reaching the end of something, but don’t know yet whether the closure is beneficial or harmful.
Finishing with “Wrong Button,” the album’s shortest track. How this one sounds, with its title, left me with question marks, such as in novels or movies with open endings. It’s just like we were following a story where the lead character was facing ups and downs and trying to find the silver lining. Did he find it? It’s like a mystery that popped up at the last minute.
I can’t guarantee how you’ll feel after listening to this album. But that’s the beauty of it; you’ll have your own personal experience and feel what resonates with you. Listen to “Joyology” below and get ready to start your own story with outstanding background music that perfectly fits each chapter.
Breon S.Y.N.D.L.E is here with his latest release, ‘B.E.C’ (Baconeggandcheese). The deliciously mysterious single comes with a secret recipe of melodies that will trap all tasteful ears.
The composition cannot be labelled. It majestically reflects a mix of cultures, influences, tastes and beats that perfectly reflects and transports us to what it must feel like to live in the city that never sleeps —a diverse, multiethnic cosmopolitan megalopolis.
The lyrics are an ode to all-natural, pure breed New Yorkers and wannabes who want to get in with the trend.
“I just love my city, and I feel like people are trying to jump on the New York wave but don’t know how to.” —S.Y.N.D.E.L.
He knows the city full well. Born and raised in NY, the streets watched him grow and become a professional artist. These same streets have influenced Breon’s artistic touch and inspired his poetry since childhood.
He strongly believes that not everyone can call themselves a real New Yorker.
Breon’s vocals are borderline brassy yet with a steady, youthful tone. They’re all about what the future of Rap and Hip Hop is.
He currently has +15K listeners subscribed to his profile on Spotify and plenty of previous work uploaded to keep you there long enough to stream until your internet drains out. Head there right now and let his work speak for itself.
I’ve always been fascinated by musicians who start their journey with the classical music genre and then decide to break free from it at some point in their journey. It’s a very rich genre and it lures you as there is always more to accomplish in it, yet very restricting in its own way. Alec Shea, originally from Australia, grew up surrounded by classical music, so he decided to follow his passion and studied Audio Engineering and Sound Production, opening more diverse musical abilities and possibilities. He later went on an exploring adventure and worked as a freelance composer. Sound designer and voice designer while traveling around the world. Recently, he’s been settling in Tokyo, Japan where he got the chance to work on game and animation soundtrack projects, where he does sound design, voice acting, and more, one of which included a track featuring the famous vocalist, Emi Evans. Some of these games and projects include Corpse Factory, Kanji Combat, Pitch Black Serenade, and many others.
‘Plane Prepared Vinyl Past’ is his first album to release as his own. It has a total of 7 tracks, one of which is performed in collaboration with David Cho, who plays violin and guitar liven which adds a different and more rich ambiance. This song is called ‘Yumacha’; listening to this track, made me feel like I’m inside a music box. It’s dreamier than the other tracks on the album. The song was composed by David Cho, and Shea handled the production process for it. Moving to ‘Shibuya Coffee Shop in the Evening’, it has consistency and repetition in its musical context. It has a hypnotizing, chill vibe with some unusual beats and the same theme/motif maintained throughout. Followed by ‘Sunset café in Yokohama’ which still maintains the same motif and theme from the previous track, while elaborating more on it. The bass line in ‘Evening walk through Ueno Park’ is short, to the point and catchy. ‘The Lights at Night in Akihabara’ is unusual, it’s less comfortable than the rest of the track, riskier and eccentric in its musicality. Although each track has its own character and identity, yet they all fit together as one coherent and harmonious entity. A
The album takes you on a journey in Tokyo through the artist’s eyes, you explore Tokyo, its cozy cafes, calm streets, and charming lights through him. The guitar lines on all tracks (including Yumcha) are played by Josh Vasquez, and the violin on all tracks is played by Felix Pong. If you’ve been there before, you’ll see the city with a fresh eye and if you haven’t, you’ll get a good sense of what the city is like through his music. The titles of the songs are very descriptive and give you a hint on what to expect.
Sofia Dragt is a Dutch artist who believes like so many of us that music is capable of taking us on a marvelous journey that has no limits. Last year she went to Iceland to stay in one of the most beautluf country cities Ísafjördur. And there the concept album ‘ISA’ journey was created.
7 tracks are taking you to an impressive journey, imagine you’re just looking at mountains of greenery, remarkable blue waters, and an extraordinary landscape. Of course, not all artists are capable of delivering such beautiful musical paintings like Sofia. This is what really makes her music unique, I loved how the music was so smooth indeed. In my opinion, this type of album is suitable to be listened to everywhere at any time. Unlike other music styles, that fits only for a specific venue or an occasion. It’s the kind of music that you need for your daily dose to deliver such a piece of mind and soul. I believe that sometimes words are incapable of describing the beauty of music. Still, I would like to point at her beautiful voice. Seriously, I felt that Sofia is singing among the clouds in the sky. A true powerful and emotive vocal style. Try it out! Close your eyes, and listen to the music, and feel the charm! The instrumentation over along with the mix, are perfectly made. You should know that Sofia recorded everything with her portable gear but the interesting part here is the background atmosphere in all the tracks that has been taken by her field recorder to give more richness to her music. In fact, I am a fan of electronic pop but I cannot deny that Sofia’s music has been added to my library as one of the most unique pop artists in 2022 so far. Well, it’s about time to feel the beauty below. Enjoy!
‘xo’ comes in just on time for summer. This song gives away all the right vibes to be played on repeat during the hot season and has the potential to be a hit.
The track is the lead single to CASSIEL’s upcoming EP. A Rap tune inspired in the latest romantic relationship that the Melbourne-based solo artist had.
“xo is a song dedicated to my now ex-girlfriend I made while we were dating. It’s about how special I think she is and how my past relationships have left me quite hurt.” –CASSIEL.
A very nice touch on the whole composition of the song is the touch of acoustic guitar. It not only adds an exciting element to the overall sound, but also elevates the romantic spirit of the song.
Other previous work is also noticeable, original, catchy and fresh. Songs like ‘Wish You All the Best’ currently +8.8K streams on Spotify.
Good things come in humble packages. Knowing that ‘xo’ was recorded, mixed and mastered right at CASSIEL’s house, one can only imagine what he would be able to do at a big record studio.
Now we have gotten to know this talented young one, we get to sit and watch what else he’ll be creating, with the safe guarantee that he knows what he is doing.
The Golden Boy is back! After taking a short pause, the Pop/Hip-Hop/Rap artist “Young God Blow” is coming back strong with an energetic, delightful, and yummy love song. “Lil Mama” is ready to be played on repeat by two birds in love.
“Lil Mama” was the fruit of the brief hiatus, as YGB filled his thirst for inspiration with love of all kinds; love for the hyper-pop/rap style; love for creating genuine music; love for energetic lyrical prowess; and love for his girlfriend, whom he wrote the songs for.
I’m not easily attracted to love songs, but what’s great about “Lil Mama” is that the love is truly bursting out of it. It features YGB’s girlfriend with silky, smooth vocals on the chorus. R.L. Beats made bouncy, catchy beats that align with the single’s vibes. Young God Blow’s vocals are cheerful, warm, and showcase the affection in the lyrics. The bars rhyme ideally like ear-candy, and the endearing lyrics are perfect to show your love for your partner.
“You keep fillin’ me up with butterflies
I get lost in yo eyes feeling a spark ignite”
Can you imagine being on the dance floor, dancing with your partner and knowing that this is how you both feel towards each other? It’s a heavenly sentiment. Be careful, this one is infectious, and by play two, you’ll find yourself singing: “My heart kept following you, when you fell from the sky.”
“Lil Mama” is just one of many singles and an EP planned for the rest of the year by the talented musician. So, listen to the song below and stay tuned for more dope work!
We intend to concentrate on how much others have hurt us and left us with deep wounds, but what we overlook is that when we are preoccupied with our own wounds and have no idea how to heal them, we may end up hurting those around us as well. “Where You Been” by Red Skies Mourning is a question to oneself as well as a wake-up call to pay attention to the harm we are causing to those we love.
Red Skies Mourning is a musical project by Chris Aleshire based in Maryland, United States. His latest single, “Where You Been,” reaches the thinnest chords inside you with its deep, vulnerable, and self-aware lyrics. On a personal level, I bonded with the song and felt as if it was inspired by my deepest, darkest emotions. Even if you’re unfamiliar with the sentiment, the poignant, melancholy, and delicate vocals will convey it to you and allow you to sink into it.
“The song was written about myself being emotionally unavailable and only realizing it when I unintentionally hurt someone that I cared about deeply. Realizing that, and taking a hiatus to find myself, love myself and understand myself, so I can understand and love others just the same.” ― Red Skies Mourning
The beats are bouncy and dancy, so there could be a balance and you don’t feel overwhelmed and want to kill yourself. The single kicks off with a synth melody that grabs your attention, and by the time the vocals enter, you’re hooked instantly. The genuine sound created by blending Alt-Pop and EDM with Rock vibes demonstrates how Red Skies Mourning is a skilled, creative musician that’s ready to stand out in the musical scene.
I believe that the main problem the independent musician faces for quite some time is dedication. I have witnessed in the past twenty years in our Egyptian music scene many incredible talents that weren’t taking it too seriously and led that to an inactive project or just a history.
There are many points you should focus on before starting your band for example; what goal do you have in general? You can be like “I just want my music to be heard.” Well, it’s a good one for sure, but it’s so random! Of course, it starts with your passion for the music and instrument you play, but when you decide to be in a band, there should be certain goals that you want to achieve throughout the year, like; I am aiming to finish my three singles, or I will focus on local gigs in my city. Make sure you choose the correct bandmates, not just good instrument players, but also, these guys have a harmony with you while playing. I believe the main key points in any good band are chimstery, hammoney, and tightness. Believe me, these factors will take some time. A good plan will help this band go somewhere. Don’t be random, guys! Make a plan based on a certain phase, for example; these six month you focus on rehearsals, next six month you focus on live local gigs, and so on. At the end, you and your bandmates should deal with the band as a company and any company there’s a leader with vision and the rest of co-partners follow. Good luck!
