Silly by Mia Delamar

0

Rising star Mia Delamar released a soulful R&B sensation called “Silly’ on the 5th of November from Atlanta, Georgia, US.  The 24-year-old artist contributes to showing her raw talent and sense of belonging to the music community since her single ‘Cool’ secured over 135K streams and more. With this new single, she offers continuous consistency in the high quality of her vocal performances and music delivery. Some of her inspirations include Ariana Grande and Aaliyah.

The vocals, the attitude, the sound, and the charisma are just all in your face packaged in a nice red ribbon to you as a musical recording when it comes to Mia’s music. She is clearly made for musical fame and success. The song is about being a fool for somebody you loved. The overall sound of the song is powerful, feminine, and nostalgic. This is the ultimate girl hype! There are hints of old-school hip hop in the music, some early 2000’s vibes that cannot be missed as you hit play. She brought the diva glamor of female rappers and performers from that time. The musical arrangement is mind-blowing. The beat is just absolutely insane. There are a lot of drums and bass that are the stars of the track, with something like a harp’s sound effect that creates a sexy melody. Mia’s vocals are so special they’re actually addicting. They’re juicy and smooth. The rapping part is just fly and nonchalant, and the texture is made with a lot of perfectly high-pitched vocals from Mia. The song is relatively slow-paced, and Mia’s energy is just radiant, confident, and savage. We can’t wait for what is yet to come from Mia!

Hitman by Met Montrel

0

Artist Met Montreal from Memphis, US, released a genuinely sexy R&B track called “Hitman’, on the 28th of October, really showing us what it means to be hitting it metaphorically and literally ( if you know what we mean). This song is inspired by a real-life experience from a sexual encounter with somebody. Initially, Met wanted to write a love song about getting over somebody who hurt him. He always tries to play it safe with lyrics and beat but this time the inspiration was flying off the handle which made him freestyle the lyrics after attempting not to. Met really shows us what the result of taking a creative risk results in, a smashing creation!

This song is for everybody who can’t let go because of how good sex is. This can also translate to toxic relationships or being with people you shouldn’t be with. The overall sound of the song is emotional and real. The song is extremely sexy and the beat is outrageously dynamic and vigorous, synonymous with the topic of the song. The musical arrangement is a rock with a lot of hard-hitting basses, electronic beats, and a prominent, loud clapping sound that set the medium pace of the beat. The melody is delicious and catchy, and Met’s vocals are in touch with his feelings, very direct, honest, and definitely savage. Hit this song for a sensational vibe or send it to somebody you know will love this beat!

Album: CHANGE by John Puchiele Ensemble

0

Toronto-based artist John Puchiele released a breathtaking concept album on the 21st of October called “change”, a true revolutionary auditory experience about a huge world concern, climate change.  An instrumental-based musical experience, this is his fifth release made of seven beautiful compositions that take the listener’s hand into an ever-changing world. It’s striking that an artist thought of collecting an emotional experience of climate change and making it into an aural interpretation. John is influenced by artists like Igor Stravinsky and Steve Reich.

This album is symbolic in the way it shows the stages of change sonically. If this isn’t the door to melding creativity and environmental issues together we don’t know what is. The idea and execution of this album are brilliant. We’re not used to taking music as a road to play a part in environmental awareness. We must thank John for this blessing in disguise with this surreal experience, which we hope is a catalyst for many other musicians to explore these types of notions. The overall sound of the album is highly emotive and unearthly. It’s almost like a religious experience. The album forced you to activate intuitive listening, which is not surprising because the music really connects you to mother earth and its ways. Peaceful and meditative, the music pace is very slow and harmonious, you feel you’re being burgess and also pushed beyond.

The most notable element of this album is the musical pattern approach that imitates the earth’s nature of life, death, and rebirth which is an outstanding way to assemble a picture of climate change. The soundscapes of most of the tracks are essentially canvases of atmospheric, orchestral, and ethereal feel. The musical arrangement is very rich, with a lot of single piano notes, textured violin sounds, and playful flute sounds. The single instrument use was amazingly used to signify the sound that keeps coming over and over creating the previously mentioned pattern that helps portray change effectively. This is what makes the musical experience extremely dynamic, although the soundscape is calm and the instruments are few. Some of the sound effects used to create intense drama and anticipation in the music are some bass sound effects and heavy drums, trumpets, and percussions that extensively stand out in the tranquility of the soundscape.

The order of the songs tells the story of slow change through the rise, peak, and fall. It shows in the names and definitely in the sounds picked and marvelously arranged. It starts with ‘burning winds’, ‘ level rise’, and ‘an alternate green world’, which are all slow and build relaxed anticipation and intensity. Then comes ‘stages’ and’ times up which denote the peak of change which is usually accompanied by some turbulence. Then again the calm after the change with ecology drift and water blue. This is an album you cannot miss. It’s an exceptional experience, something different which we are in dire need of. Listen now on Bandcamp and Spotify!

Touché Coulé by Mikano

0

Paris-based artist and rapper Mikano released a new hot R&B tune called “Touché Coule”, on the 4th of November. As part of his upcoming 9-track EP, this release references his determined mindset and flexible musical skills. He mentions that his music is made for people who enjoy Frank Ocean, Blood Orange, and Kid Cudi. Mikano started his music journey at the age of 17 when his family moved to Paris, where he composed and wrote. His first release was an EP in 2018 called ‘ Blind mama dream”, which put him on the French musical scene.

It’s fresh out of the oven smoking hot tune with bars flaunting his skills with words about his life. Mikano really hooks us with this new song. With a cool medium-paced R&B soundscape, this song’s overall sound is a nonchalant and flexy feel. The musical arrangement is complex with a sexy electric guitar that creates the melody along with the laidback sound effects that play in the song full-time duration.  There is a jumpy bass that really moves the track’s energy to a hyped-up frequency and some clapping sound effects. There are also really cool female vocals muffled up as the backing sounds of the song make richer effects to the sonic playout of the song. We love the attitude Mikano is giving us and we can’t wait to hear more from this new EP.

Album: Tribo by Hummana

0

As if falling from the sky bearing humble and powerful messages, artist Hummana released her debut folk-rock album “Tribo”, all the way from Berlin, Germany.  Composed of 11 stunning tracks and an angelic voice full of longing, Hummana is a music project representing convergence, identity, unity, and cultural heritage. Behind this breathtaking musical initiative is Cristina Viera, a Portuguese musician who grew up in Madeira island, where she was completely immersed in the traditions of the culture which she believes is rapidly disappearing. The music consists of work music played to the rhythm of laborers who forged the lives of the island. It’s what is called a musical patchwork, where she mixes ancient voices with a modern sound, eclectically.

Poetic and melting with mysticism and meaning, this album is like a big beautiful quilt stitched with pieces of different colors and faces of culture. Viera beautifully glued together ancient sounds of thousands of years into a modern mosaic painting. The music and concept are one of a kind, with the music taking you to a faraway land, somewhere you didn’t even know existed through her emotive vocals that are full of yearning. The overall sound of the album is both extremely melancholic yet encompasses some positivity. We guess that the emptiness of fading traditions is sonically displayed in the melancholic rock sound, and the hope of revenge and preserving them is the other side of the musical coins where we feel the dreamy and happy feelings in the album. It feels like sirens, nymphs, old sounds, and genies are all coming together in one force to deliver something of great value to us.

The soundscapes are mostly very slow and dreamy or slow lullabesque gloomy soundscapes. Accompanying these canvases are spacey and unearthly sounds, heavy rock sounds, and tribal sounds. The melodies are a mix of beautiful, slow, and soft sounds with dark tones. The genuineness in this album is how she mastered all these different sounds to create a unique listening experience that feels old and new at the same time.  The musical arrangement is very rich with a lot of jungle and tribal percussion sounds and heavy drums, many string instruments, melancholic or happy piano rhythms, cymbals for intensity, xylophones for magic, and electric guitar and guitars for that rock element that is very prominent in the music. There is also notable usage of nature sounds like winds blowing and rain that play perfectly the part of ancientness and bring along wisdom to your ears. Viera’s voice was high-pitched, deeply soft, and hypnotic with undertones of sadness.  Also, along with the rock element that makes the music edgy there are also textured sounds that create a spooky effect to some of the tracks that add a doom taste we dig.

The order of songs seems to go in an order of different emotions in most images of nature like ‘grass’, “fog’, ‘’my ocean’, and ‘mother of the hill’. Others describe emotions like ‘burden’ and ‘torment’. In many ways with the big picture image, this is what nature looks like, sometimes bright and sometimes very dark. And that’s what we really feel as we listen to this graceful and creative piece, the unity of light and dark.

Ambarian – You’re Always With Me (Crosstik Remix) by Crosstik

0

Artist Crosstik released a rich and trippy hardcore remix of Ambarian’s song “You’re always with me” on the 3rd of November from Pheonix, US. Completely changing the vibe when Ambarian sent him stems to his song, Crosstick immediately dressed it up in a suitable and amazing EDM interpretation of it. Ambarian is a songwriter and Connor daily is the producer, and their influences include artists like Flume and OAKK.

This song is surprisingly the perfect balance mix of soft and loud. Not your typical love song, you’re always with me really hits you with intense waves of emotions that make you feel helpless and sometimes drowning in love. With a slightly dark undertone, the overall sound of the song sucks you into a mess of a happy, noisy atmosphere with an edgy feeling of thrill. It’s almost like a sonic experience of a dark love fantasy. The soundscape is a heavy sonic, savage and magical one, that creates a subtle psychedelic effect in the song. The musical arrangement is complex, with lots of drums and electric guitar distortion, as thrashy and explosive sounds. The rhythm is slow-paced, with a soft melody made up of magical sound effects which are very prominent in the song.  The vocals are smooth and hypnotizing and go hand in hand with the hazy beat of the song. Don’t miss your chance to experience a colored dark and slow love song with this one.

Outside by Sharl

0

Innovative and rising pop star Sharl based in Melbourne, Australia released a dazzling disco tune called ‘Outside’, on the 16th of November. With her already successful album ‘City lights’, Sharl has taken many significant and rigorous steps towards the cultivation of her music, paving way for her to be put prominently on the musical scene map consistently. She has seen a lot of indie press and radio support for her album, which documents her coming-of-age journey.

Outside is a positive, disco groove kind of tune that makes you want to hit the closest club you can find. It’s the kind of pop song that scores much higher points than casual and plain pop music. Shark brings sass, emotions, and dynamics to her pop music, making her stand out. The song’s overall sound is sexy, catchy, and groovy for disco dance. The soundscape is a slow pop sensation with a light piano for melody and some acoustic guitar sound effects. There is an orchestric violin that gives a theatrical feel to the song with a lot of tune humming that enriches the texture. The vocals of Sharl are high-pitched, strong and very out there, she is so contagious with her confidence. This song will definitely make you feel radiant!

(mercedes) by Bonze

0

Alt-pop artist Bonze released a new dreamy melancholic love single ‘(mercedes)’ from London, UK on the 18th of November via Bad Apple Records. ‘(mercedes)’ was co-produced by Fred Clough, and the song’s hypnotic visualiser was created by visual artist Tokamu.

(mercedes)’  is a song about accepting the uncertainty of the future for the sake of certain love.

Bonze manages to blend elements of songwriting, alt-pop, glitchy electronica, and club culture into one very unique experience with an open and layered feeling.

The track evolves and subtly shifts things around in its production with each section, and even while it keeps some melodic ideas being repeated over the course of the track, it has enough change happening to intentionally re-contextualize those repeated ideas and give them more impact each time.

Bonze has taken his songwriting in reflective lyrics, and blended it with alt-pop vocal production and synths, electronica glitches and fractures, and a beat drop from two-step, and successfully mixed all of these influences into one cohesive sound. There’s something in ‘(mercedes)’ for —almost— everyone.

‘(mercedes)’ is exploratory and deep, but also quite simple. It’s an easy-going song with melancholic overtones that grabs you with subtle details on each replay. It is a perfect song for when you’re thinking of the special someone —or maybe even something whom you love.

No lover lover by Jen Ash

0

Former pro basketball player Lebanon-born, France-raised singer/songwriter Jen Ash topped the UK iTunes R&B charts with her previous single Crush on You. She released her latest single, ‘No Lover Lover,’ on 11/11/22. It’s considered a personal and emotional track as Jen opens her heart to her fans, making it a raw and more relatable song.

The song starts out with a soothing guitar line then Jen comes in with her expressive and melodic voice accompanied by a simple beat talking about a toxic relationship she just got out of “I’ve experienced a very toxic relationship, and I did not realize it,” said Jen. Jen begins the song by saying “Never thought I’d be good without you” setting up the theme of growth and empowerment. It’s an encouraging song to move on and get better that can be seen in lines like “I figured it out on my own, how to be better and grow.” The chorus is a catchy sing-along with the words “No Lover Lover, Time to recover” emphasizing that it is time to move on and recover.

Sugar Stained by Geena Gangi

0

With a passion for music and script writing, Geena Gangi recently released her latest single entitled “Sugar Stained” on 11/11/22. Geena is a singer, songwriter, screenwriter, actor, and producer from Boston, Massachusetts, United States, graduated from Media Arts production at Emerson College. The song has a bittersweet quality to it because she talks about her heartbreaking experience with a good-to-be-true relationship while he cheated behind her back in a satirical way.

The song starts with an arpeggio setting the atmosphere for Geena with her angelic voice, to begin with, light lyrics such as “Love tasted like cherries” and “The kind you want your mom to meet” set the mood of the song. While sprinkling the lyrics with dark comedy words such as “Thought it was crazy, just how well we fit, But I guess maybe, all three of us did”. Geena sings in a sad tone but the light poetic lyrics and music filled with amusing FX take the song from being a sad ballad to a cheerful atmosphere
