After by Anaté

0

A fresh sound, from a fresh EP. Anaté’s latest single promises and puts a lot of weight on the release of their upcoming album.

A pop duo from Berlin, Germany, Anaté is a singer, Ana, and Andrea on production duty. Relatively new, the duo has been joining forces since 2019, when Andrea was looking for a singer to collaborate with and had Ana recommended by a friend. Together, the duo has made more than 20 songs in the 3 odd years they have been a thing. So, work ethic is a thing they are clearly versed in.

They are also versed in making compelling songs. After is ultimate, minimal. Full of catchy pop sensibilities that grab the attention, the sound is very fluid and smooth, with a certain darkness that perks up an edgy character. The duo has drifted towards a more mainstream approach with their sound design on this song, and on the EP, titled Fume, as a whole. The resulting sound is compelling and enjoyable. Tight drums and sensible, moderately airy synth, along with Ana’s charismatic vocal delivery. The composition is simple and approachable, but the bass is lacking, making the song sound a little thin. The vocal processing is masterful and Ana’s whole part is a colorful highlight.

After points toward a promising EP that I’ll be on the lookout for, hoping for a fuller-sounding arrangement, and songwriting that’s just as snazzy and direct as found here.

How Much Sadness Can You Swallow? (Jasno Remix) by Maya Yenn

0

Alt-pop artist Maya Yenn based in London, UK, had her song ‘How much sadness can you swallow’’ inventively remixed into a vast, trance wonderland of sound by producer and electronic artist Jasno, on the 4th of November. Jasno was inspired by a ’90s techno vibe at the time and used this energy to create the remix.

Crawling under your skin this song is creepy and mystical in a profound way that lays the table for the song’s idea. The song is about an intense nightmare Yenn had that she described as a ‘vision of hell’. The remix is brilliant because it really makes you feel like you’re witnessing something strange and screaming with terror. The overall sound of the song is like being in the dark with never-ending scary sounds and voices closing in on you. It’s exciting and daunting. The musical arrangement is a cocktail of sonic sounds mixed with exotic drums and a notable ear to the usage of the middle eastern Daf instrument that gives the song an extra edge. The song is based on a trance soundscape with an almost minimal techno vibe with soft whimsical sounds playing around. The middle of the song suddenly transitions into an extremely intense soundscape with a sound effect of a wind instrument that mimics a siren, and thrashy industrial sounds that emit a darker vibe, as if the nightmare is escalating to its terrorizing revelation. This remix is an example of how a talented producer can spice up a really good song without changing it so much but just enough to make a huge impact!

Rebel For Love by Alex Kate

0

A title song for a debut album, Rebel For Love is Alex Kate’s leading flag into her budding and promising musical career.

The Norwich-based singer/songwriter Alex Kate has spent a whole year working on and honing songs for this EP, titled Rebel For Love. This title came to her ahead of the writing of the song, and it symbolizes Alex’s journey from being a girl into womanhood, standing against injustice about women, making herself, basically, a rebel for love.

The song starts with a tight, rhythmic riff on an overdriven guitar. Quick and restrained, its energy is visibly bubbling under a calm surface. Alex’s vocal delivery is sincere and strong, and her words are empowering and confident. A bouncing bassline jumps in the background and the drums are sure-footed and tight—an overall compelling sound. The chorus is beautifully written and even more beautifully sung, albeit simple and direct in music and in words.

Rebel For Love is an anthemic starter and leader to Alex Kate’s promising EP, long in the making. If the music on it is consistently as solid and powerful as this song, then consider me a fan from now.

Sonic Boom by Gem FM

0

Gem Fm chose the right name when it came to claiming a representation of his artistic identity. He sent out from his magic planet to the world, a very eccentric album on the 21st of October called ‘Sonic Boom’, from Fort Lauderdale, US. Consisting of 8 marvelous tracks, this album constitutes what it means to blend high energy and a meditative experience together, to form a collection of totally unique auditory sensations! James is an electronic rock musician and producer who loves making sonic collages of both electronics and trance along with progressive rock music.

He considers Gem Fm as a solo vehicle in which he expresses flexibility. One of the most influential things he has mentioned is that instrumental tracks are interesting because they can travel anywhere with no translation required, and that’s what we really feel listening to a sonic boom, an endless possibility.

If there’s such a thing as a musical fantasy, then Sonic boom it is. This album is a diamond mine, a translation of diverse emotions of mystery and positivity through a very intense and fast birds’ eye lens, with a touch of insanity and magic. The overall sound of the album is a spiritual fantasy made by a collective of musicians who fell out of different portals from 80’s progressive rocker dudes to flamenco dancing music from Spain, and modern-day electronica. Most of the soundscapes are atmospheric, rock-based harmonies with spiritual and dreamy emotions. The textures made by the immersive and rich instruments and synth sounds make the tracks mostly fast-paced because they’re played in a very intense way.

Many of the melodies created in the tracks are made with saxophones, flutes, and trumpets that feel like they are imitating sounds from nature which is quite amazing! The musical arrangement is burning with rock drum kits, electric guitar, thrashy sound effects, robotic vocals, fun piano, and spacy sound effects. Some notable sounds are glass clinking, wooden percussion, and violin. What strikes us most about this album is that even though it’s intense, you cannot say anything other than its effect is soft and easy on the heart. He also has a mesmerizing ability to also fuse flamenco music elements and jazzy sounds that also make this album have another side other than a rock!

There seems to be some mystery to the meanings of the names of the songs, and no particular order, you’re just here to expand your listening experience with this album to infinity and beyond!

Because of how catchy it is, this song could be a successful commercial hit. Gemini is a DJ, event organizer, and producer who holds musical influence in over 50 countries and is a great contributor to chart toppers. The artist produced 2 EPs and 1 album.

Gemini wanted to create something upbeat and meaningful, and he sure did with the energetic and motivational beat and lyrical content. Melodic with an undertone of soulful vibes, the song’s main catchphrase is live your life. The overall sound of the song is captivating and encourages dance and letting go of worry. You feel like there is a slow yet subtle intensity build-up in the beat.

The soundscape is a fast house pace with melody created with an intense violin that fades to the back of the song, mixed with clapping, intense cymbals, and bass sound effects. The vocals are soft and edgy, with the vocals interrupted multiple times creating a distorted effect to the sound. Enjoy this track on a really high volume for the best outcome.

Low Confidence by Jewleyouse

0

A straightforward track dedicated to women with low confidence against the abuse of makeup, and against negative self-esteem.

Having this fight is the rapper Jewleyouse from Chicago having released ‘Low Confidence’ with epic flows and rhymes.

The track begins with synths alongside ascending flows and delivery that at some point sounded close to 2Chainz’s flow and in Kanye’s vibe in the process of developing others’ behaviors through the nervy lyrical flow.

The track generally demonstrates the relationship between men and women, when the latter is short in confidence and trying their best to look like the superstars on TV.

A snapback to reality through honest and as straight

a die lyrics, with using as simple vocabulary as possible, a thing which might have seemed needs some development through the lyrical depth of meaning and the sharpness of unique vocabulary.

At some times it felt that the track needed to be shorter as the length of five minutes didn’t add much if it was three minutes or something.

Play ‘Low Confidence’ and tell us what you think.

Vibration Angle (feat. Ben Tenison) by Genevieve Sovereign

0

From across the pacific in Melbourne, Australia after releasing her first downtempo debut album in March, Genevieve Sovereign an electronic singer-songwriter woes our ears when she collaborates with self-releasing pop artist Ben Tenison in the first single from a new series of IDM / EDM singles “Vibration Angle” which is set to be released on 11/11/22.

The song is easy on the ear with synth plucks and a groovy beat that makes you want to “be free” and dance filled with huge atmospheric pads that give the song depth and dimension. When I first heard the single, her angelic voice caught my ear; her voice complements the nostalgic vibe of the song while the question-and-answer conversation between Genevieve and Ben supplements the song with a sense of self-exploration and guidance from an angel. The music interlude is endorsed with a catchy lead synth line that forces you to dance. By the end of the song, we reach a conclusion part of the journey which starts with “So what can you see from your angle, with your vision helped clearer and true?” which concludes the song in a freedom anthem by uniting the vocals and ending the song with “let’s be free”.

If you want to groove with a simple song that’s easy on the ear and talks about freedom, and self-exploration then this is a must-listen-to.

Infinity by Caracol

0

Bilingual artist and songwriter Caracol released a soul-refreshing and minty Reggae drop, ‘Infinity’, on the 19th of September from Montreal, Canada. The song captures the hot essence of Montreal’s hot summer vibe. Caracol was recently nominated at the Canadian indie awards as the electronic artist of the year and toured in Africa and Europe as a headliner. She also has a steady foot in the publishing scene as she writes songs for other artists. A new album is anticipated in 2023, we can’t wait for how it will turn up!

This song feels like a goblet of sun handed to you on a low, rainy day. It’s capable of transforming your mood to an optimistic and hopeful view of your day. This song is all about chasing your dreams and freedom. The overall sound of the song is a strong essence of carefree vibes, warmth, and shine. A cheerful hymn with a slow pace with its reggae African jungle soundscape, you can truly swing your hips and tap your feet to it. The musical arrangement is rich, with a lot of rhythm guitar and fun percussion instruments that lead the beat. The song has a prominent bass guitar riff and three different musical arrangements with the same sunny melody as the song shifts in pace. Typically, this makes the song shaped like water with so much flow and dynamics. Caracol and Mike clay make a beautiful duo singing together with smooth, clear vocals which they play with as they also hum the tune, adding an enormous amount of texture to an already full beat. Keep this on your list for a push of positivity!

EP: Flying Low EP by Audio Analysts

0

Flying low is Audio Analysts latest EP, released on the 28th of October from Belfast, Ireland. The Eps genre is deep house, with three tracks, and remixes made by amazing players in the scene, Mica and Colin Dale.

This EP is a small universe in celebration of the creativity and diversity in what art offers through its lens. The Ep starts with an original track, and the following 2 basically reworks of this track with extremely different outtakes and tastes that will certainly blow your mind away.  One of the most enriching experiences is to explore how different artists can use and reshape the same art piece, stretching and blending them in their own imprint. Audio analysts allow us to savor such a special event through this EP.

The overall sound of the first track, ‘Original’, is a slow burn of excitement through the hard-hitting baseline that really moves you with each sudden transition. The song is a steady techno-like soundscape that doesn’t go high or low. The rhythm is a medium pace, but with so many sounds jumping you up in the beat, it feels like the song is fast. The melody is made with a fun bass sound effect, and there seems to be a desert-inspired female sound really making the song give off an enchanting and exotic ring to it. The musical arrangement is rich with a lot of sonic texture and a lot of smart playing with a blend of different synth percussions that are used to play up or down the hype of the song. There is something so 90s, and the melody is fun with bursts of industrial sounds and robot vocal effects.

Crafted by a true talent in the scene, this remix is perfect for some mojitos by the pool. The rework by Colin Dale’s overall sound is much more relaxed because of the softness of the sounds used. The soundscape is dreamy synth-based with a much faster techno beat and minimal percussion usage. The song transitions with its drop right after the misty vocals. He takes the sound and applies a more chill house feel to it, with a very light bass at the back of the track. Bursts of a soft electronic echoing sound lead our ears with the beat, with the musical arrangement adding more taste with some clapping sound effects and fun xylophone sound effects. The last retake is Mica’s with a more mysterious and groovy feel with a sparkle of space synth magic and continuous light percussion. Removing the vocals from this mix, the soundscape is techno with much harder drums sound effects leading the beat and muffled cymbal sound effects. A different, daunting melody is introduced to this track, with stabs of wavey and vibrant sounds. A notable sound would be a kind of horn sound effect that creates a really cool and warm, melodic taste to the song. You can literally blast the song in this EP anywhere for any occasion with this dynamic collaboration!

Kármán by Henry J

0

There are rare types of soundtracks that when I hear them leave me wondering: “What was that?!” Not because they’re better or worse than our everyday music, but because they’re definitely weirder. After the first listen; you’d be left with the creative artist’s signature and a piece you know you won’t find anywhere else. If you haven’t bumped into that kind of music yet, “Kármán” by Henry J will give you a tantalizing taste.

Some musicians’ work makes you feel like they succeeded in putting pulsing life into it. Henry J is undoubtedly one of these musicians, but not in a conventional manner. His single, “Kármán,” is so full of life but gives the feeling of an alien kind of life. Awesome! right?

“Kármán” is like the dream you’ve always been afraid of, but once you’ve had it, you feel safe and relieved. It takes the worst fears of failure, writes them down smoothly through the dark, relevant lyricism and hypnotic, seductive vocal line with its soothing yet melancholic tone, and produces a sense of reassuring that everything is going to be alright with the cosmic hybrid sound.

Henry J is a genius songwriter and composer who made the tracks offer the structure of a story with different chapters and a sonic landscape that takes you to a different space with every verse. The psychedelic flair conveys a dark, twisted vibe, yet it entices you with its mysticality and gets you immersed in the theme and celestial rhythms.

Throughout the four-and-a-half-minute, there’s a ritual made with pop tunes, synth quirky lines, electronica luring touches, and a swingy vibe that all work on getting you to let your fear of the feature, of failing, of not being able to catch your dreams, come out into the open, replacing them with the resonating sound and creating limitless galaxies inside of you.

Put on “Kármán”, buckle your seatbelts and enjoy your journey to the mystic outer space!
