Tus Ojos by Dj Moderno

0

Dj Moderno is a Madrid, Spain-based musician and producer who has spent years remaking indie, national and international bands. He works as a DJ in several clubs in his city and has appeared at a variety of European festivals.

Dj Moderno has been releasing music since 2015, he’s gone from making remixes of his favorite tracks to creating his music, recently releasing his album “La Nave Nodriza” featuring the song “Tus Ojos”.

DJ Moderno has managed to create a classy atmosphere at “Tus Ojos” that invites us to dance with ecstasy. Although it talks about a toxic relationship and a tumultuous night when a lot of bad things start to happen, the song reflects all the wrong things but with the right music.

“Tus Ojos” is built on powerful bass that takes you on a magically colorful and delightful electronic journey. A vibrant palette of sonic colors makes you swing to multi-layered synths and cheerful pop melodies.

It is these contrasts that make “Tus Ojos”, a track so fascinating, entertaining, and boundary-breaking, that it can be easily accepted and enjoyed, even by those who don’t understand its words, because it has a lot of electro-pop effects reminiscent of bands like The KVB, Disclosure or Sextile.

DJ Moderno’s voice is his way of expressing his passion and anger, and there’s no doubt that the music video for “Tus Ojos” gives some extra context to what the track is all about, and sheds new light on the colors and sound palette, so try to hear it and see it even if you don’t understand Spanish because it is a great track.

Interview With Kelley Cole

Singer, songwriter, and producer Kelley Cole released her second single “Fantasy“, which is a great song that exceeded my expectations, and confirmed the quality and versatility of a solo artist.

From Nashville, Cole spoke to us about everything about her and her beloved art

  • Hi Kelley, what’s your story?

Hey! So happy to be chatting with you, and to be able to share my thoughts. My story starts with just a desperate love story between me and music. I grew up obsessed with the storytelling and drama of pop music. I lived for the big glamorous synth-based dance tracks of the early 2010s. The overly elaborate 10-minute music videos, The outfits, the feuds, everything. I ate up every bit of it. I started writing my own music once I convinced my parents to finally buy me a guitar in 6th grade. I think I really started to begin to understand my artistry once I began learning how to produce music. The idea of creating the tracks myself and the exploratory nature of learning something entirely new to express myself was pure magic. I’ve always wanted to build a bigger world for my songs, and that seemed like the perfect way. Nowadays I’m still as obsessed with production. I produce all my own songs and songs for other artists as well.

  • “Fantasy” is your new single – what’s the inspiration behind it?

I think everyone needs to go through heartbreak to truly know all the aspects of love. I wrote this song after learning one of the hardest parts. It was inspired from being with a person who didn’t see my worth. You can only see the truth of a situation once you’re completely removed from it. It was then I realized how poorly I was treated and how I didn’t deserve that treatment at all. I hope this song can help open other people’s eyes who might be going through the same thing and give them the confidence boost they need to get out.

  • Could you describe the songwriting/production process for this single? Who helped you create it? and when did you start working on it?

I started working on this song in December of 2019. I was still in college and was determined to get my feelings down before going home for winter break. I produced and wrote most of this song along with a few others that week I spent alone.

This song was always led by the production for me. The bad-ass feeling of the drops, the fierce guitar solo, and the roaring synths all gave me that confident feeling I craved.

After performing this song, I decided to re-work the recording, my partner and Mix Engineer Tyler Callahan stepped in to help simplify and refine the arrangement and elements.

  • tell us about the artwork and how much related to your music?

I wanted the artwork to be loud and colorful because I wanted to push myself to be the most confident and loud version of myself. This is especially true in the music video that will be released on July 8th. My director David Graham pushed me to my limits and made me focus on different aspects of my artistry. Together we created something better than I could’ve ever imagined.

  • What are the hardest and the best parts of being an artist?

The best part is the level of self-expression it has always allowed me. I feel most free writing and producing a track completely by myself and allowing so many emotions and memories to be completely felt. One of the hardest aspects is following my gut and speaking my mind as an artist. I get so distracted and focused on other people’s opinions sometimes. I need to learn how to stick to my guns and trust my voice

  • If you could change one thing in the music industry, what would it be?

The pressure on artists to constantly be creators on social media. Labels nowadays focus more on your following and social media numbers rather than your focus, drive, and talent. It’s draining on independent artists who are forced into splitting their creative time into content creation as well.

  • You get ideas from social life and relationships, so what biggest life lessons have you learned?

It’s okay to be a fool. I think it’s better to be a fool and learn lessons the hard way rather than shielding yourself from any heartbreak or failure. To be open and vulnerable takes more strength than to be hard and pessimistic.

  • For other artists just starting out, what would be your advice?

Just do shit. Put out that song. Play the show. Make some noise Do anything!

  • What do you hope your music brings in future releases?

I hope to keep creating music I love and believe in. That I keep pushing myself to new limits and learn something new with each new song.

Fantasy by Kelley Cole

From Nashville, Tennessee, Kelley Cole sends us her compliments with her new single “Fantasy,” loaded with the heavy, heavy dose of pop we saw from her previous single, “Anyone.” Are you ready to receive it?

Through her single “Fantasy”, Cole emphasizes her color in the pop music scene in a distinct style, here she uses acoustic bass and pulsating kicks after a 10-second intro, to express in her impassioned voice that the goal of the song is that her boyfriend will not be suitable for her anymore, and ends With that screaming sound from inside the club’s bathroom after a crazy dance connection, a relationship in which the smell of masculinity dominates.

As the writer, producer, and solo performer of this track, Cole is enough to push you onto the dance floor, once you’ve got one thought in your head: “I’m done with this delusion”, the explosive drums accompanied by her heated sound will make you feel the beat in your chest, and when you arrive The song to the electric waves of the guitar then you are out of breath but trying to continue until the end.

Cole is different from St Vincent, Dua Lipa, and possibly Prince, as we can see shades of these artists in this song. However, it was implemented in Cole’s way.

In general, Kelley Cole succeeds for the second time with her new song “Fantasy” because of its strong lyrical content, outstanding music, and more than wonderful voice, I advise you to add it to your dynamic playlist.

Holding On To Me by Jonathan Harrington

Acoustic warmth is not easy to capture. The art of singing atop of an acoustic guitar is one that might seem reserved to campfires, and for good reason. It’s very difficult to make it sound good in a studio environment.

Tulsa’s Jonathan Harrington is a Pop Folk craftsman, offering us another glimpse into his upcoming LP ‘TIME / PLACE’. ‘Holding On To Me’ is a song of self-inflicted heartache, and in that, it might have universal appeal.

Starting with a warm, lush acoustic guitar, reminiscent of Bon Iver’s early releases, that’s soon followed by a sweet, spacious and gentle melody, and a sparse drumbeat that utilizes a very boomy kick, and vocals that harmonize beautifully, making the whole song a very smooth and nostalgic journey that I, personally, didn’t want to end.

I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times… Cliches are cliches for a very good reason. They Work, and they work well. And the cliche progressions on this little gem are good proof of this. A simple song that features minimal elements to achieve great depths, and more importantly succeeds in making me wait impatiently for more from Jonathan Harrington in the near future.

Break My Heart Again by Kristen Plati

Australian singer Kristen Plati wows us after releasing her new single “Break My Heart Again”, which made us dance and sing with her even if our hearts are broken.

Kristen developed her soulful pop sound, to touch the clouds along the lines of Adele and Tori Kelly. After debuting with “Find Me Lost” in 2019 when she wrote and co-wrote his tracks, she has since released “Boomerang” which turned into soundtracks for several Macy’s commercials, followed by “Stone” in 2020 and followed by “Wanna Be”. In 2021. To come in 2022 with the song “Break My Heart Again“.

To the rhythms of captivating pop music with a touch of playfulness, Plati tells us that it’s not a question of where this relationship takes us, but how we enjoy it. Her song conveys the experience of a second chance and letting someone break your heart again because you love being with them. Perhaps this is not a healthy situation, but if you have a strong attraction to someone, you will do all possible and impossible things and say with all your strength please Break My Heart Again.

Break My Heart Again” combines sentimental lyrics, hilarious guitar clicks that make the track fervently lively, and immersing you in the ’80s-inspired neon colors, lively rhythm, shimmering synthesizer, and powerful vocals that will pull you onto the dance floor.

If ‘repeat’ is the right word for this song, but it’s also what you want to do with it to hear it over and over again, ‘Break My Heart Again’ becomes your fierce and powerful song of the summer.

Moris Better: Loveless Confessions by J’Moris

Did you think the album “Blac February” released in 2020 was the great work of rapper J’Moris? I can now tell you that your belief is wrong. Heavy, intense, and political, “Blac February” really had its place, but on his latest album Moris Better: Loveless Confessions – released last March – he reached a new height of excellence.

Texan-born J’Moris created his style with a mix of realism, booty, and Southern grit. He worked so hard on his development that we noticed that he moved from the heavy and risky tracks in “Blac February”, creating 14 tracks in 46 minutes filled with his great sound and lyrics mixed with R&B, jazz, rap, and hip-hop from Supamario Beats.

The explosion of sensations made each track its flavor, we find different flavors of desire, sensuality, and tension, and J’Moris did not forget to put some hope in the mixture that permeates the organization of the work while preserving from beginning to end the simple and distinctive melodies.

The album begins with the track “Magic” in which J’Moris talks about trying to make the most out of bad situations to a magical beat of Trap & R&B that will make you fascinating, “Wanna Ball” co-produced with 254 Assassin and The Composer Four000 Units simply feels you. That you’re just a kid J’Moris wants to play with the ball with.

On the album, with “Too Spicy,” we take a nightclub vibe that would easily make anyone want to jump up and down. The track titled “Loveless Confessions”, talks about the nature of modern relationships, and the concept of getting close while moving away to an attractive musical rhythm.

Growing up in Fort Worth Texas throughout the ’90s, J’Moris was exposed to drugs, pimps, and thugs, yet turned his personal experiences into songs that vividly depict the challenges he faced so listen and enjoy.

Ami Jaani (I Know) by Sreeja Chakra

0

It is remarkable when someone speaks up and channels their hardships and things they’ve witnessed while growing up, into something positive. Sreeja Chakra decided to use her voice through music among other tools to address a significant issue in a specific community. Chakra is more than an artist, she’s a musician, songwriter, businesswoman, and decolonization activist who is originally from South Asia; born and raised in Kolkata, India then moved to Dubai. She decided to move to Denver, CO in 2018 to major in Music Business at the University of Colorado with a minor in Psychology. The artist has a spiritual side and is in constant search of divine femininity and mood-altering sounds for the healing of the soul. She is influenced by artists like Amy Winehouse, Bessie Smith, Rihanna, Jorja Smith, and Greetea Peng.

“Ami Jaani” is her latest single release, it was published by B3 records and recorded at a local Denver studio with the support of Alayna Marie, a close friend of hers from university. The song’s lyrics are mostly in Bengali/Bangla language which is the native language of the Bengal region in South Asia, Bangladesh, and India, with some English lines in between. It’s mainly addressed to this community as she’s trying to tell them that she is listening and she understands; Sreeja is dedicating this song to the children who had to step up and fulfill a role that isn’t theirs to fix their families, the children who grew up too soon and are struggling from traumas and having no one else stand up for them. She’s trying to raise awareness of this trauma that has been ongoing through generations through a conversation about mental health and assuring them that it’ll be ok. The song has a soft, meditative vibe with a simple melody and hypnotic effect.
