The Nice Guy by GEENA GANGI

Everyone has a different kind of light, creating an aura around them that makes us gravitate towards them. With her new single, “The Nice Guy”, GEENA GANGI tries to draw our attention to her and those who shine but with a very different.

Through her song that she recorded with Berklee alum and Sam Steele in Los Angeles, she first sheds light on her to see how beautiful this type of singing is, being simple but attractive, and how subtle and precise she is in choosing melodies and words, and secondly she highlights what we can call false luster People who glow with a false glow, appearing in an appearance that reflects qualities and character that do not exist in them, they encourage us not to bear the falsehood of others, no matter their position in our lives.

When GANGI wrote her song, she aimed to touch your soul with her warm voice, in harmony with the intimate and sensual rhythm. It feels like a romantic drama movie about emotional manipulation and shock from the truth. Through gentle music, you are sent floating on a cloud of romantic rebellious feelings that spur revenge on the deceitful partner.

The music in “The Nice Guy” sounds fast and this fits with the feelings carried by the words. When you discover the truth, you have to quickly go back to square zero. GANGI succeeded in employing the rhythm of ALTERNATIVE POP music to express what is on her mind to touch a distant point in the depths of our minds It was light and realistic, giving way to an intense emotional blow that comes from softness.

GEENA GANGI is an aspiring artist with a lot of creativity. If this is her first solo work, we are facing a talent that will put herself firmly in the music world, so if you are one of those who have been going through emotional experiences lately, put her new song “The Nice Guy” on your favorite playlist while you work.

On My Mind by Ivy Eye

0

Summer has arrived, as has Ivy Eye’s “On My Mind,” which will have you putting on your dancing shoes and burning up the dancefloor.

Ivy Eye is the creation of the English duo Matthew Benham and Rory Sheppard. The duo had created a vibrant, dancy sound by fusing Pop, Disco, House, and some vintage vibes with futuristic tones. Their latest single, “On My Mind,” sounds like the soundtrack to a 90’s movie scene, carefully crafted to be ahead of its time.

You’re standing in the center of the dance floor. A sparkly dancing ball is above you, there’re nodding heads and shaking legs all around you, but suddenly your eyes meet someone else’s, a spark lights up, and in the middle of a crowded room, you only see each other and your own the dancefloor. That’s the vibe that Ivy Eye sets up for you.

The uplifting beats flow from the rhythm to your head, transporting a message to your body to grab the one with whom you connected and dance instantly. The vocals are both emotional and dynamic, urging you to imagine what they’re narrating and to jam and dance along.

Whether you like EDM or not, you can’t deny that this song is a soundscape for your fantasies. And if you’re a fan, you’ll enjoy the retro atmosphere of the 0’s House and Disco.

Sydney Gordon is a rising artist who’s made remarkable progress in such a short time, reaching over 62K monthly listeners on Spotify and with previous singles like “Chains” reaching over 100 K streams. “Too close” is her latest and third single released last month and already reached 69 K streams. She wrote this song alone with Ben Antelisand was produced by Mike Cortes, mixed by Tony Maserati, and mastered by Dave Kutch.

Interview:

  1. You have such a powerful voice and an interesting vocal range, why did you choose the pop genre specifically?

It is my favorite genre to listen to and write. But who knows what the future may bring… I am not only a fan of pop! Haha.

  1. Your musical style and voice remind me a little of Ariana Grande, does she inspire you? If not, then who are you most influenced by?

I love Ariana! I am inspired by her as well as artists like Miley, XTina, and Demi.

  1. I love the choice of the beat in “Too close” and the edginess in the song, how did you come up with it? How do you usually come up with your melodies and musical ideas?

I wrote Too Close on my keyboard in my room. It started with the pre-chorus. I just kept hearing the melody in my head and I finally sat at my keyboard a few days later and messed around with some lyrics. When it comes to writing, I usually either sit at my piano and play around with some chords; but most of the time I will just hear melodies in my head randomly and then I will voice memo them on my phone and revisit them later.

  1. You told the story behind “Too Close” is coming from a personal experience and there was a guy you wanted to get close to but pushed away. Could you tell us what happened with him eventually?

We became good friends hahaha!

  1. Apart from singing, songwriting, and piano, do u play any other instruments?

No

  1. Do you have a band? Who are the members?

Yes, I do have a band, drums, bass, lead guitar, and keys!

  1. How did you become a regular at “The Bitter End”? And do you perform at any other venues?

My first performance at The Bitter End was in August of 2021, since then I have been playing there once a month! And yes, I perform throughout the greater Metropolitan New York area.

  1. Tell us more about your childhood and your relationship with your great-grandfather, did you watch him as growing up? Was he a part of your love for music?

I didn’t know my grandfather as he passed away before I was born. But he did pass on his love for music to my dad, and he was defiantly part of my own love for music!

  1. What’s next for Sydney Gordon, any upcoming albums, or performances?

YES!! I will be releasing my next single this August! Stay tuned. And I will be performing at The Bitter End on July 30th and August 27th, both shows are at 9:30.

Risk and Reward by Havoc Osiris

0

A great thing about Electronic music is how unlimited it can be. it‘s willing to go as far as you are willing to push it. Your mind is the only barrier.

‘Risk and Reward’ is a concept album (maybe?) from Dale De Souza, AKA Havoc Osiris. The Plano, Texas native is set to release a mind-boggling 25 albums to commemorate his 31st birthday and to showcase his creative progress, and this is one of them. Set as the soundtrack for a novel that’s set in a dystopian power-hungry future, full of ethical dilemmas, political corruption, and characters with nothing to lose.

The music is striking here. Each track seems to have a unique thing to set it apart. Things that range from the mundane to the stunning, from the darkest to the lightest. Things that guarantee that each piece on the album is set to find its audience.

Starting things off with ‘Welcome to The Stage’. A trippy, off-putting number. Sporting a throbbing synth bass riff and off-time robotic leads for a hook, and full lush sections full of rich little solos for what we can call verses. Adding both to create a proggy feeling that’s equally fun, engaging, and accessible. Following that is ‘Two Hours’. Again, the formula follows. Split into 2 sections. Section A is quite the emotive one, Heavy tremolo on the synths and vast sampled drum hits with massive reverb allow this section to grow to gigantic proportions. Contrasted by the tinny section B, featuring thin-sounding instruments and a sparse beat. ‘Momentum of Clarity’ is probably going to be divisive. With “middle eastern” beats that fall a little short of the mark and fail to prove an addition to sound, and a hectic solo that toys with dissonance. The main motif, though, is where all the attention will go. A stabby lead line with a mysterious sound and a structured layer of metallic pads underneath create a truly driving and powerful section.

‘Heavy Rain’ does a great job of sounding just like that… heavy rain. With rich, busy, buzzing sections that do work beautifully towards creating the duality between an inconvenient and disruptive rainstorm, and experiencing a gentle shower from the warmth of home. ‘Runaway’ is an alluring slow-burner. Not featuring any rapid-fire sections, opting instead to remain chill and charming, with jazzy keys solos and a consistent bass line. ‘Intel’, while not bringing anything new to the table, is endlessly pleasant. With (almost) acoustic-sounding bass, that’s rough and cool, a chirpy, light lead that gently flutters, and quirky interludes, all on top of a clangy, off-center drum beat. ‘Dawn’ is perhaps the first song to fall a little flat. The different sections fail to add momentum to carry the song’s hefty length of five and a half minutes, sounding unintentionally minimal and a little too empty for its own good. ‘Catch – 22’ takes us back to exciting sounds. Oriental sounds and melodies work beautifully against a Soul-inspired section, all expertly put together with wonderfully engaging production, but could have benefited from being a minute or so shorter.

The heavy ‘Wherewithal’ is next. Quick-paced, full of powerful sounding instruments and energetic, off-kilter drums that jitter all over the different sections, and a crazy tonal acrobatic that occurs in the middle. But yet again… could have been a more healthy meal if it was a minute shorter. Next up is ‘Amandla’. Barely escaping being labeled a filler, it has very little to show compared to all that came before except for a charming-sounding keyboard and an odd-time feel that keeps things feeling fresh. ‘A Long Way Home Is Still a Way Home’ is another quick rhythmically intricate tune that certainly puts to mind Radiohead’s King of Limbs. The penultimate ‘Orders’ is an alluring, luxurious sound. Full of swarming bass, buzzing synths, and a droning that pulls you far in. Reaching the end with the titular track, full of trademark whacky rhythms, that’s while entertaining and attention-grabbing, doesn’t quite add anything new to the table.

It’s crazy what Dale De Souza is able to craft from a simple formula such as the one that persists all over the songs of this album. The main motif, broken by one or multiple contrasting sections, in 4/4 time, with a twist. He’s able to create 13 songs, to compose one of 23 albums, to be released in a single year! Electronica may need nothing more than a truly creative mind, and Havoc Osiris, here, is as creative as they ever come.

Starsearch by Brothers Arm

0

As usual, the American team Brothers Arm brings us tracks thousands of light-years away from planet Earth, but they use humans as a sensory and realistic experience, and this is what they present in their new track “Starsearch”.

The new single “Starsearch” is an addition to the Brothers Arm list that stopped last year at “Stars As A Light Source”, but with this release, they can’t take us away from their accustomed style of writing and melodies.

Brothers Arm always draws inspiration for their songs from real-life events and experiences, social relationships, and self-reflection. They are greatly influenced by a style that consists of calm, intimate sounds and a unique blending of meanings and images associated with space such as the sun, stars, sky, and other cosmic elements.

Brothers Arm has been a master of electronic instruments since they started creating their music in 2012, “Starsearch” is an electronic tune track with a psychedelic atmosphere that creates a cloud of optimism, accentuated by fast drumming that conveys vitality and energy despite the quiet vocal performance.”

Brothers Arm succeeded in creating a space for themselves to move with their different musical creations, distinguished by their skill in employing instruments that enable them to climb higher and higher where the stars are. It is okay to go through the experience and listen to them because they will take you away.

Interview With Liv Charette

0

Having such an artist with this skill in music, and also in gaming opens a catalog of questions wandering through my head. So we decided to interview the flaming vocals artist, Liv Charette.

  • How did you start your journey with music?

Music found me in the most unexpected way in my early teens.  I was a figure skater from the age of 3 to 14 and was skating 6 days a week, had multiple coaches and personal trainers and it just got to be a lot.  I lost my passion for skating but found a new passion in music and have been in love with it ever since.  When it comes to dreams, I’ve always been raised to go big or go home and I’ve been chasing my big music dreams ever since.

  • Do you play any instruments?

Yes! I play guitar and a little mandolin.  My 1963 Martin 00-18 is my most prized possession!

  • What is the story behind your music note tattoo?

I got my music note tattoo when I was on my first-ever writing trip in LA.  Because it was my first tattoo, I wanted it to commemorate my love for music and how far I’ve come in my career and also get it done in an iconic place like LA (which is known for tattooing).  I got it at Ten Thousand Foxes and it was such a special experience!

  • is there an upcoming album?

I am always working on new music so you can expect a lot more for me through the rest of this year and into 2023!

  • Tell us about your previous releases. Which one is the closest to your heart?

To be honest, every song I’ve released is so near and dear to my heart, but if I had to narrow it down, I would say it’s a tie between “Red Flags White” and “Game Over”.  Both of those songs are so authentically me as an artist and songwriter.  From the lyrics to the melody, to the production, they are truly a piece of “me” and my heart in a song and I’m extremely proud of both of them.

  • How do you write your music? Tell us about the whole process.

When it comes to songwriting, I definitely consider myself the lyricist in the room.  I’ve always had a love for words and I’m always writing down things that inspire me on my phone for future co-writes.  I think having a strong hook is so important, so I usually like to start with a title, followed by a chorus, and go from there. I think establishing the hook before diving into the song helps to guide the storyline of the verse and song overall! Sometimes I’m inspired by the things I’ve jotted down previously and know exactly what I want to write when I get into the writing room, other times I’m more go-with-the-flow and go off the feeling and what the producer is laying down and try to match the music to the lyrics.

  • What do you do besides music?

I host a podcast called “She’s on the List”, which has been such a wonderful experience and a way to connect with new audiences that share similar interests. I also love playing video games on my Nintendo Switch and creating fun TikTok content.

  • Tell us the story and purpose behind the ‘She is on the List’ podcast.

“She’s on the List” is my weekly podcast that covers all things lifestyle, beauty, cocktail culture, and travel, mixed with tidbits of history.  It’s basically an excuse for me to dive into topics that interest me outside of music and nerd out about them for 45 mins or so every week, haha!  I’ve always loved learning and “She’s on the List” has been such a blessing for me as it’s given me an alternative creative outlet to share thoughts and stories and really connect with people on a whole new level.

  • Are you much into podcasting? Which podcast was the most interesting one?

I’ve listened to podcasts for many years before starting my own and always found them to be an awesome way to pass the time while on the road.  I love that there are so many incredible podcasts to choose from, whether you’re into lifestyle, true crime, biographies, etc., the options are endless! Some of my favorites include “Morbid” if I’m feeling in more of a serious, true crime mood, “Thick and Thin” by Katy Belotte, and “Pretty Basic” with Alisha Marie and Remi Cruz if I’m wanting something more lighthearted, and “Even the Rich”, if I’m wanting something more story-based and biographical.

  • Who are your major influences?

P!nk, Pat Benatar, and Tina Turner are some of my major musical influences because not only are they incredibly talented singers and performers, but they exude confidence and are relentless when it comes to the pursuit of their dreams.  I love that they give everything they’ve got into every performance and have persevered through hardships in their lives and careers and have come out even stronger.

  • What is your favorite song of all time?

I truly don’t have a favorite song because it changes regularly! My playlist is a mix of oldies and new hits and all different genres. Currently on repeat is Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia” album — and it’s been on repeat for me for the last 2 years. It’s one of those albums that you can play through and never have to hit the skip button.  That’s when you know you’ve achieved greatness.

  • What is the story behind being so interested in video games?

I’ve been into gaming ever since I was a kid and my parents got me a Nintendo 64 for Christmas.  I’ve had almost every gaming console and handheld console ever since!  I’ve always been someone with a big imagination and have had a love for all things magical/out-of-this-world (probably why I love Harry Potter and Disney so much also!).  Gaming for me has always been an incredible escape and a way to step away from the day’s stresses and really feel like I’m in another world for a little while!

  • What is your favorite gaming device? Do you play video games on current devices?

I’m currently obsessed with my Nintendo Switch and bring it with me on the road and everywhere I go! I also love the nostalgia that I get from video games and love pulling out my Nintendo 64 when I’m back home, as well as my PS2.  It’s fun to go back and play the games you played as a kid.

  • What is your favorite video game?

It honestly depends on my mood and it changes all the time, but I never get tired of playing “Stardew Valley” and “Zelda: Breath of the Wild” on my Switch.  I love cozy games mostly — games that are more chill, and involve exploration or collecting things.

  • Was there a game where you couldn’t manage to win/complete?

There were lots of video games that I found challenging when I was a kid and I love the challenge of going back and trying to beat them now.  I tend to play games that are more laid back these days because I want video games to be an escape.  If I die in too many times or fall off too many cliffs, I tend to get frustrated and rage quit, haha! So I try to stick to more calming, easy-going games.

  • Have you ever used ‘Cheat Codes’?

I’m definitely guilty of using cheat codes — and that’s okay! I think that video games should be fun and relaxing and if using cheat codes every now and then helps get you past a certain level, gives you a power-up, or enhances your overall enjoyment and gaming experience, then go for it!  They aren’t always easy to find, at least in my experience, but I like to watch YouTube videos and learn tips and tricks from the gaming “experts”!

  • Lastly, a word to your fans.

Hi friends! I know this might sound cliché, but I truly could not do what I do without you!  Every follow, every like, every comment, every stream means the world to me and I’m so beyond grateful to each and every one of you! Stay tuned for lots of new music coming up – I can’t wait for you to hear what I’ve been working on!

Game Over by Liv Charette

0

A young kid running back from school on a weekend to play his newly purchased game. He goes on and on, trying again multiple times when the levels get vigorous, and when he passes the level, it’s a triumph for our young kid. The kid grows up and all he thinks of is how he perceives that everyone is playing a game. Society is an open-world video game where you have quests and missions to pass every day. Everyone with his own objectives which usually fall back on his summoned purpose. And some people’s objectives were relationships as “Liv Charette” expressed in her latest single “Game Over

From Nashville, the US the Canadian pop singer and songwriter Liv Charette release “Game Over” inspired by a recent break-up, and of course her long love of video games.

The track features a nostalgic feel and vibe, which throws you back to older gaming devices and arcade video games such as Nintendo and the ’90s devices used in gaming. The cause of this nostalgic vibe is that “Game Over” kicks off with a video game arena where nothing goes higher than the pushing buttons sounds.

The track kicks off with the rich-vocals Liv enjoys, expressing a 360-degree movement in a video game, and then adds “You had your turn”  addressing her ex. Seamlessly influenced by video games; “I suggested the idea to Jason when we were writing in LA and he brought the song to life with a track that includes some amazing nostalgic game sounds. The lyrics turned it into an anthem for telling someone that you’re winning by ending the relationship.Charette stated.

Honestly the minute I played “Game Over” I was thrilled by the tone of Liv’s vocals! IIt’sastonishing to a degree that drags you into her pit. I believe that Britney Spears is her God-mother vocally. Similar to Adele in looks, but Britney Spears in vocal performance.

The track is well written using expressions that are video game based such as “We were good, we were great, we were heroes. But all along you were just using cheat codes.” This line has won the game for me and it was brilliantly written.

The overall quality and clarity of vocals and video game effects levitated the track along with Liv’s critically acclaimed vocals.

Guitars also were mastered and played cool riffs and an adequate theme-friendly solo which synced with the overall vibe.

Liv Charette‘s line “Can’t lose cause I already won!” is realistic cause she gained a lot of listeners from multiple generations through “Game Over”, yet it’s just GAME ON for her!
