“I’ve Been Thinking” is your new crush. The song tells the tale of someone who can’t stop thinking about their own crush.
Beyond that, the beats of this song will leave you infatuated with the unique mix of futuristic vibrant synths and pitched vocals sounds, and old school foundations of 80s Funk.
The track comes with boom-bap sampled beats over the smoothly energised melody while keeping the essence of her signature hip hop instrumentals.
Sadiva has over 12K monthly listeners on Spotify. Whatsmore, her previously released work is a success story after another, songs like Love Jones (+1M streams), Drop ‘95 (+980K), Starlight (+568K) and Criminal Mind (+86K) are just some samples on top of the list.
Ritual contains the secret recipe of manifesting your inner boss. It’s an upbeat song with an attitude that claims authority through both the lyrics and beat.
“In this song, I talk about claiming authority, wealth, and success in first person as if its already mine, which is exactly what we should all be doing: speaking things into existence, and training our minds to subconsciously practice these things”. –Tana.
Originally half Italian, half Nigerian, Tana is an emerging Pop/R&B artist from London. Tana is an artist and songwriter with a unique flair for lyrics and melody.
She has recently signed her song ‘Savage’ to Sony US and Babygrande records. Her work has been championed by Sean Kingston on Instagram, played on BBC introducing, and featured in numerous publications and writing for artists such as ‘Jike Junyi’.
Ritual’s lyrics were thought-provoking metaphors of greatness. Her vocal energy is edgy and modern. The melodies accompanying it are rich, creative, and engaging. Plus, the cherry on top is how the digital effects strike and really enhance the song.
In conclusion, Tana’s music is unapologeticcally liberating, and she places diversity at heart. Talking about wanting all the finer things in life and manifesting it through what sounds like a ’mantra’, wanting it all never sounded so good.
Made with original, profound, and brave words, Satchit raises a delicate topic in his new song, “Lilac Screen”.
“Lilac Screen is a track about the abuses of media freedom worldwide and the blend of truth and falsehoods that we consume daily.” –Satchit.
The track addresses a particularly relevant topic at the moment, on how the news affects us as though the more we hear, the less we do to combat it, working well as a bridge between a calmer power and what the world is experiencing.
The song begins with an impactful quote from prominent human rights lawyer Amal Clooney: “Abuses of media freedom worldwide are stifling speech and shredding the very fabric of democracy.”
The chorus bounces with percussion and a distorted bassline. The song’s beginning highlights the melodic vocal line with a lone guitar and espouses the main message behind the music.
The South London-based artist challenges the boundaries of alternative R&B with his music, creating work similar to Brent Faiyaz and Blood Orange and melodies influenced by Frank Ocean.
The vocals are soulful and heartfelt. The acoustics transmit relaxed energy throughout the verses that float over clean guitars, multitudes of percussion and distorted synths.
An eclectic song for a wide variety of music tastes. Satchit has proven to know how to translate messages into creative pieces of art and deliver them across with a bold, solid foundation.
Seeking spiritual music that makes your soul fly high? Want to listen to the sound of paradise?
The musicologist, cantor, and composer Gerasimos has released his first personal online album entitled “Byzantine Hymns as chanted in the mid-18th century”.
The album consists of seven tracks and flows from hymn to hymn in a very soulful soothing way. Alleluia is my personal favourite. The melody and vocals take you on a 9-minute trip to heaven.
Byzantine Hymns’ recordings are the product of an in-depth study of a musical codex dating from 1750 to 1760, around the mid 18th century.
The artistic reconstruction of the seven hymns has been recorded in five-line Parts notation in the manuscript Sinai 1477, probably based on chanting by an Athonite monk.
Overall, the whole album is the right choice for those seeking calmness and serenity for soul and mind.
As a living art that has existed for more than 2000 years, the Byzantine chant is a significant cultural tradition and comprehensive music system.
Forming part of the typical musical traditions that developed in the Byzantine Empire. Highlighting and musically enhancing the liturgical texts of the Greek Orthodox Church, it is inextricably linked with spiritual life and religious worship.
The Success milestones for artists in the time of social media platforms are measured differently, it takes a long time and effort to build a strong fan base but let’s just say Phillip Good is an exception to that. The artist only started singing and releasing his music last year and he’s already on the right track and knows what he’s doing; with over 44K followers on Instagram and more than half a million followers on TikTok and five million likes. He even has Merch with his name being sold on his website and selling out like crazy.
Phillip’s recent song “ready to go” has over a thousand dancing and lip-synching videos on TikTok and with streams over 25K. you’d think such a hit song would take months to write but ironically, he wrote it on a plane, TUPAC gave him the inspiration on this song, and he wanted to convert it to country/pop song. One of his biggest supporters and one of the reasons behind his success (besides his music) is his daughter! She joins him in a lot of his videos, and they even sing duets together. She has an angelic voice, and his fans are in awe of her. Good’s influence comes from Justin Timberlake and Morgan Wallen. He recorded this single in Top flight Studios in Tampa. The song is fun and catchy, hard not to dance to. It has some rap style to it with some pop chilled chords and simple beat and loop choices. The song is about someone you’re recently dating and interested in and think they’re the one which what caught a lot of his fans’ attention in wishing someone can sing this song to them. Talk about raising the bar so high! Men out there, good luck beating that.
After moving from Barcelona to France, Coloma Bertran, an accomplished classical violinist, and composer fell in love with Jazz, different fusions, and cultures, and that’s how “Principis” was born. Born and raised in Barcelona, Coloma pursued music and trained classical and contemporary violin at the ESMUC (Escuela superior de Música de Cataluña). Later she decided to expand her studies and traveled to Dammarie Les Lys in France where she fell in love with Jazz and improvisations. She created her first composition under the prestigious French Violinist Didier Lockwood, she even had some of her works and compositions published in the “collection of scores of the Rural Course”. She shared the stage with reputable musicians and artists like Xazzar, Elena Gadel and other, as she is also a member of several music groups and orchestras.
“Principis” is her second album released, where she produced it, composed it, and played the violin, Quim Abramo Soldevila on electric guitar, Franco Molinari on double bass and Joan Carles Aguerri on Drums. It was recorded by Jaume Figueres at Estudis Ground, mixed by Panxii Badii and mastered by Víctor García at Ultramarinos Mastering and management by Julia Pérez Luque & Coloma Bertran. The Quartet of professional musicians put together a remarkable collection of ten songs that are rich in culture, musicality, skills, technique, and richness. It takes you on a musical journey throughout the different eras of music. A hint of the classical era in its cheerful and calculated timings moving to the romantic era with its fluidity and rich chords. Not living the different fusions and cultures between Latin music and its different styles, the European dances and their origins while keeping the elements of jazz music and some blues mood. “Bendadanti”, the fourth track in the album gave a feel of the Latin salsa beat, as if you could dance to it in the streets of Brazil, while “Principis” you can picture the American folk dance, “Martina” was more blues mood, subtle, calm, and simply complex. “Poeta de l’asfalt”, I could hear interpolated within the song the famous motif from “Llorando Se Fue” as a shadow coming in and out. “My favorite things” is the only adaptation of the original song from The Sound of Music.
It’s a fun, cheerful and chill album that is very rich in music, culture, and information. Coloma is evidently a very skilled violinist, and her technique shows throughout the album. Everything is carefully thought of from the art, photography and design which were by Cris Romagosa, to makeup and hairstyling by Mechi Velasques.
All the way from Cuba, Lobo Malo which means “bad wolf” just dropped another single and as always, it’s wild! With his essential focus on reggaeton with a vibe of Latin rap, the artist is sticking to his style this time around too.
The artist started releasing singles back in 2019 and has no intention of stopping, he released several singles, collaborated with other artists like, Mr. Love, Denver, DJ Yom, Sael Smith, and many others. He also released two full albums “ángel & Demonio” in 2019 and “Perreo Vs Morfa” in 2021. He is mainly influenced by “Suoni Caraibici” and has performed in several concerts in Cuba and in the United States yet, the song was recorded in Madrid. ‘DM’ his latest single release is about the ‘dms’ which are the direct messages sent on social media platforms. It’s about how we secretly just scroll and go through images and stories of someone we’re crushing on, or curious about. The song has different beat drops and layers entwined, and the vocal line has several recitation styles. It’s a young, fresh, and hip song that sure will lighten your mood and make you want to get up and dance. The kind of song you would want on your summer playlist.
An energetic, colorful, up and coming artist with a joyful spirit. Alexa Perez, a pop musician who only started in 2021 and released only two singles, yet from the very first release ‘Wondering’, she scored over 10,000 streams. Alexa’s music is simple, delightful, and sensitive.
Her debut single was featured in blogs internationally like “We Write About Music, Roadie Mag, Indie Top 39 and Sinusodial Music. Listening to both singles, ‘wondering’ and ‘cliché’, you can tell how raw the emotions are, it’s as if she’s having a calm, kind conversation with herself. ‘cliché’ was produced by Tiger Darrow, who is the mastermind behind the live string feature after the bridge. The artist’s songwriting skills are influenced by Taylor Swift while combining it with electric synths that are inspired by artists like Lorde and Caroline Polachek. The song has profound emotions, which I think what gives edge to the artist, the melody is simple, the electronic sound effects and synths used aren’t complicated and even the beat is slow and chill, no complications, not many layers. Yet, it’s kind of unpredictable, you can’t tell where she’s going to go next. The lyrics is about losing someone you care for but not because it’s a painful relationship but because of profound differences in how they love each other differently which you can tell is a very personal thing that the artist personally went through.
We love how everything in her music is personal and comes from an authentic raw place, from the lyrics, music and even the cover of the album and how emotional and real it is.
The Blue and Gold is a new project by the Duo, Ndidi O and Trish Klein. Both strong and successful female musicians who have outstanding achievements in their genre of interest. Ndidi a Juno nominee and WCMA; the Western Canadian Music Awards ‘Blues artist of the year’, while Trish Klein, a banjo player and folk-roots guitarist who was part of The Be Good Tanyas, Frazey Ford and Po’ Girl.
“Honey in the Rock” is the first single release as part of the debut album “The Blue and Gold” coming out on April 29th with 10 more songs to follow. The album is all reinterpretations and covers of renowned female artists like Memphis Minnie, Lottie Kimbrough, Mamie Forehand, Jessie Mae Hemphill, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and one song by the infamous songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie. This single specifically is a reinterpretation of Blind Mamie Forehand’s delicate gospel blues masterpiece. Mamie Forehand is considered one of the earliest professional female country blues and gospel singers. Its musical lines are very simple and clean, a guitar, percussion, bass, and vocals. The sound isn’t overwhelming in anyway, doesn’t leave you wondering and uncovering layers of music, it’s all out there in a simple, beautiful way. A slow seductive blues/jazzy beat with a simple chord progression and a duple meter.
The only thing came to mind while listening to it is how it could belong to the soundtrack of “Sons of Anarchy”, it has the same depth and vibe. We’re looking forward to listening to the entire album as it pays tribute to all the female blues legends and icons.
“ATMIG” which is short for “After the Money is Gone”; the band’s first release was back in 2017, they launched a campaign to help fund their first album which met its target. Another release was made in 2019 and now with their latest EP “Avec Muscles” just released last March. The band members: Tobias Lipski on voice and guitar, Dan Clark on guitar, Drew Borowsky on Bass and voice, and Dave Jackowicz on drums all came together in Detroit’s local scene. They’re mainly influenced by the likes of Interpol, Elliott Smith, Sunny day Real Estate and Smashing Pumpkins.
“Avec Muscles” was recorded at The Tempermill Studios by the Grammy nominee engineer Jake Shives and mastered by Warren Defever of “His name is Alive”. A total of six songs, each one with a different meaning and story behind it, the EP starts off with “Ride” which has a soothing buildup of instruments, starts off with a simple guitar line then joined by bass giving a few hints here in there then a beautiful melodic line played by violin. The lyrics are about a very personal moment in the composer’s life (Tobias), it’s about when he was driving to his father when he was suffering from cancer and undergoing chemo and radiation. “Refuge” on the other hand as Tobias explains it is “about blaming someone else for your miserable life” which is very interesting because it’s a fun tune that you can easily dance to at a party. “Avec Muscles” is a seven-minute-long track, mainly two songs combined in one, it doesn’t change themes in between yet doesn’t bore the listener; it’s like an ongoing conversation, a serious of events happening and then coming to the conclusion that he enjoys it the most in the hard times and that’s when he steps up the most.
The album is very interesting journey of self-discovery yet done in a fun, cheerful, light, and pleasant way. The kind of music you would listen to as a soundtrack of a rom com movie, the kind that gives you hope and puts a smile on your face.
